Queens Park Rangers away match thread

I thought that was a decent first half.

We were a little wasteful in the final third, and a couple of defensive lapses, but we're dominating the middle third, progressing up the pitch very nicely and really look like the home side.

Scrappy, but happy!

HT 0-1. QPR started well, pressed us into hurried balls and were on top. However, we've gained some control and well worth the 0-1 lead. Tommy probably should have scored to make it 2, but he has worked hard after a quiet start.

Only disappointment for me, is Bell, who has been a passenger throughout, like to to Mehmeti come on to have a chance in his place.

It's an unwinnable argument, Pete. The armchair Mourinho's have made their judgements and nothing, MotM against Boro for instance, will deter them.

Don’t understand why every signing we make has to be tricky wingers or the like. You don’t get playoffs with stepovers but apparently according to some it’s do or die

Didnt even know where I was or what year it was at first. Let alone the score

I was making a cuppa so I missed it too. Back in time for the replay thankfully!

3 successive block to stop QPR scoring... great defending but have to get a grip on the game. Bell & Conway need to get on the end of some balls and take the pressure off.

Yep, had a 10 minute period where we did the worst thing possible...let Martin and Dykes have it with our CBs 5 yards off them, time to control, turn, bring others in.  Thankfully we stopped giving them the freedom of our half and then began to control the game.

Williams been really good so far, shame he hasn't been fit to put in these types of performances this season.

Yes, combative.  Wants to add tempo to the game, which helps us.

Jamo has been excellent though alongside him. One great ball out to Pring off of Bell's run inside to drag Laird with him.  That's what I want to see Belly doing, influencing the game without having the ball.

Sykes a very good first half.  My "meh" signing in the summer, he's been a plus overall.

Lovely goal too, TC / AS on-two initially, set the initial cross up.

Decent enough half.  Cannot afford to drop off the pace.

I don't necessarily disagree, but the issue is Bell is playing as an inside forward, creating spaces for Pring to overlap which has created at least two very good opportunities. Mehemeti tends to occupy those spaces.

As per my response above, when Bell stays out wide (and he does too often imho) it stops Pring's space.  Got to get closer to Conway.

Shame Tommy hasn't got his shooting boots on, 2 very good opportunities and should have done better when he hit the side netting.
Sykes proving he can get goals is a big bonus for next year and having Naismith pinging those passes to him is a real threat.
Pring has been good at both ends and James has been good.
Good away performance so far, but need to be clinical against sides when we dominate.

"We've got Sammy Bell, we've got Sammy Bell, we've got Sammy, we've got Sammy, we've got Sammy Bell,

And we got him FREE, and we got him FREE, and we got him, and we got him and we got him FREE !!"

Two types of the people in this world. Those who rated Chris Martin and those who don’t know football.

Well, if he played like he has done today, he would probably still be here. Fact of the matter is he’s likely to be on the losing side today and is playing for a team that’s bloody lucky to have stayed up.

He has been giving it everything trying to win a contract for next season, be interesting to see if QPR offer him one.
