I presume that’s why Birmingham have called him in as a specialist goalkeeper substitute or at least coaching on goalkeeper distribution… (I’m kidding!). To be fair to the EFL programme, they did ask if bringing over Tom Brady was just a publicity stunt. God knows what Brady thought of St Andrews when he arrived. It’s been like the Championship version of the Mem with large parts sectioned off that can’t be used etc. Hardly the trillion dollar stadiums of the NFL! As for Brummies in Weston, you have to remember that these people have no idea what seawater is supposed to look like, having been brought up in the Midlands, so they all flock to the first place going south with a “sandy” (I.e. sand laid down on top of a load of estuary mud) beach. They may have Tom Brady, but we have Harry Cornick's deadly long throws!

Three teams I would expect to be in the middle third come the end of the season, all established and never give us an easy game. More of the same from the first two I would expect. A month or two ago I thought Preston and Birmingham would struggle. Preston have made since then some solid signings and Birmingham fans confidence pre season much higher with new owners and a bit of cash from the Bellingham sale. Birmingham won on Saturday with a 91st minute winner, us in the 94th. Identical records, albeit on two games, and in the table ‘as it stands’ they sneak ahead of us by being one of the few teams to beat us alphabetically, damn them. Anything other than a close game will be a shock, fingers crossed we sneak it. If a BCFC comes out of this match with 7 points from the first 3, they will be delighted! Should have sent them down a few seasons back. For the umpteenth time on here I believe we were doing Cotts a favour. Bryan didn't think even beat the first man with crosses or free kicks from around their box. It was so obvious and still gripes with me as much as Tomlin's launch into space from the penalty spot and Flint's uneccessary cameo in the forward line when we leading Wolves in a Christmas time game. 41 minutes ago, cityexile said: First three league games all a bit similar for us. Yep, the Flint one still annoys. Real risk pushing him up front, actually go ahead….then leave him there. Even at the time it was a ‘what even are we doing’ going through my mind. A real sliding doors moment.

mightyreds89
We’ve given Brum and additional 450 tickets this morning meaning they have full 3k. Still plenty of home tickets remaining 1k left in the Dolman & 1800 across the lansdown based on current numbers looks like around 18,500 home tickets sold and a crowd of around 21,500 2k down on opening day with over double the away attendance that PNE brought, that said lots on holiday game 1 so those empty seats maybe more populated and crowd may look similar to opening day. Tough game Saturday for sure.

Mr Popodopolous
Giving 3k to Birmingham, hmm does it cede home advantage a little too much or is that about right- can a bigger noisier away following even help to spark a better atmosphere as a whole.

It can spark a better atmosphere in the ground as a whole- <1k from Blackburn, Hull or Preston are hardly going to get some of that tooing and froing..Norwich and Watford however brought 3k or 2.5k, atmosphere good and results positive- 1 win, 1 draw.
Davefevs
If Brum are gonna bring 3k, shouldn’t we expect a better crowd than the 20k City are currently saying? Or is that before the additional Brum tickets were released?

Mr Popodopolous
2.5k should probably be the upper limit IMO. Different potential rules in PL or Cup games. I wonder if this is a risk Saturday, would have thought not but it happened in 2022 and if demand is high, Birmingham fans with Weston postcodes, relatives with Weston postcodes (which correct me if I'm wrong begin with BS). downendcity
There's an extra 2 coming for the Brum game. It'll be my first home game for far too long and I'm bringing my grandson for his first ever City game ( or any live football for that matter).

So 26k minus the 3k available minus the 1.3k empty seats in the Atyeo which will be covered up = 21.7k max. I suspect there are a few hospitality etc available, so I'd expect closer to 21k.

We do indeed have BS postal codes here in Weston, BUT the club will have full details of previous purchases etc As I wrote above though we are certainly in no position to turn down extra money from ticket sales I don't know if it is done for all sell out fixtures like this, but often names and addresses are cross referenced between clubs and tickets do get cancelled The other problem is those at uni, Bristol addresses and could support anyone It used to be a very regular problem in E34 with away supporters sitting in there, often because it was cheaper than an away ticket Birmingham have previous for sitting in there and getting an unwelcome response

Mr Popodopolous
Just 736 left across E28-E33. Who knows with E34. Often the Lansdown is possibly (at least in terms of tickets sold, never mind actual attendees which differs) the least as far as home areas goes- as a percentage or proportion. W4,5,6 always the last to sell as they are bloody expensive. £45.25 for an adult, bit cheaper for members at £40.25.

Here we go again , how often have we heard this , there maybe a few dotted about and if behave properly all good & fine , if all mobbed together ( in the wrong area ) dont go crying if there’s an incident . I know people will say we should all be able to sit alongside each other but that’s another debate . Anyway tough game ( like they all are ) hopefully 3 more points

However yes on paper not a lot will occur hopefully, well behaved they won't be noticed. Yes on pitch, should be hard fought as you say..our record vs them hasn't been great in modern history but some improvement in recent years- home win 2018, away win the next season still 2018, away win 2021 (Behind Closed Doors, Covid) and home win 2023 ie last season. Better than the prior 6 seasons worth of meetings vs Birmingham! Edited August 17, 2023 by Mr Popodopolous

She was Secretary to Tranmere's manager and she still keeps in touch with Micky Melon, who was at Tranmere at the same time so there isa City connection in the family on that side!.
