Where is our CEO...who is he?

Unsurprisingly for a CEO appointed by SL he’s bigging him up

The message is crystal clear ,

SL has set the budgets as he does not wish to put in the same money annually as he’s done

Oh but we still have Top 6 ambitions

And despite spending time fanfaring new contracts for Pring , Vyner etc , ‘wasn’t prepared on a radio show’ to discuss NPs contract situation

Hmmmmmm

I can understand that he didnt want to talk about Nige's contract publicly, but was concerned over the way he stumbled over the words.... and he's been pretty fluent until that point

People were saying the same about vyners contract last week,

To be fair, if I was in a negotiation or was letting my contract run out I would be fuming if the bloke I was working for made comments about it on the radio. However the lack of commentary regard NP from the guy was very obvious!

Feeling a bit deflated with everything again, was absolutely buzzing Saturday now seems as though we’ve given up on a promotion challenge anytime soon

I actually think Lansdown and son , still think promotion is on .......

....... didn’t you see Luton last season Hump ?

Good reason to get rid of NP , nicely set up

Nige isn’t getting a new contract ‘ he totally batted that away

He didn’t specifically say that.  He  just refused to comment on the situation, though my conclusion is the same as yours. As others have said, plenty of praise for “Steve” but nothing for Nigel. It’s understandable that he had to tow the party line, but I thought it was a very bland interview. Perhaps the questions could have been a bit more probing and difficult

Also said we had good squad depth which if you’re considering 17 outfield players enough then fine.  Then said we need to be lucky with injuries but what if we aren’t Phil as surely we needed to plan for that & I don’t just mean TGH to cover RB.  Seems the fact that Nige consistently said that Knight was signed to play with Scott that there wasn’t a plan B if he went,  as Scott had to be sold as we already had purchased his replacement & added to squad.

Geoff Twentyman was a hard act to follow but felt interviewer didn’t challenge or probe further.  Fine if Lansdown doesn’t want to fund it as his choice but move the club on then Steve & drop this our budget is higher than Luton’s and they went up,so we can on comparable budget.

Knowing Nige I reckon he will stay as long is possible and do everything he can to make it impossible to be sacked , think we may well surprise a few if we can get a fully fit squad , then Nige gets offered a new contract and says ?up yours im off .

I desperately want him to stay, but I have to say that I would love that!

Particularly given Nige has:

  • reduced the wage bill by approaching £10m per annum,
  • reduced amortisation cost by around £9m per annum,
  • generated sales of around £35m,
  • still kept us competitive on the pitch with a tiny injury hit squad.

And yet he appears to have no supporters in the club’s hierarchy.

That loss doesn't make much sense given the austerity, cost reduction, Cup run(s), Semenyo sale and overall recovery of income. £12-13m was more like my best bet, time will tell.

Reduced sponsorship money by not being sponsored by an online casino?

The bunglef***ery of that family is beyond belief.

Billionaires. Can you even credit it?

Very weird to want that to happen just because of bitterness surely.. as a fan wouldn't you just want what's best for the club?

Yep

If this follows through as all the flashing lights are indicating , I’m done with the Lansdowns

Setting aside some awful appointments and strategies ,

With his complete incompetence regarding Ashton  & Johnson It’s like some spoof documentary as he now sulks , takes his ball home ,  and sneers at Pearson

I am going to go and listen to this interview because I have made the mistake of believing the interpretation of interviews on this forum before.

It seems it's not just the players and managers with had in the past that suddenly become "not good enough" for Bristol City the minute they walk through the door. Now we have an award winning Premier League CEO who is a worthless puppet, I am surprised that Crystal Palace have lasted so long.

Would of loved the if he was asked, so you expect Nigel to mount a promotion challenge on a fraction of the budget Lee j had , Lee couldn’t get us anywhere near so why do you think Nigel can do it

I think the fans need to be 100% behind Pearson vocally and make it as hard as possible for them to get their way , obviously a good season would help !

Lansdown does not like to be questioned and told he knows FA about football, loves a yes man as we know

Has Pearson done all this though? It was only last week that people were saying he’s only involved on the playing side, and not to be asked questions on financial matters!

He personally, obviously hasn’t generated money from sales, as he didn’t want any of them to go. He also hasn’t reduced the wage bill, as I’m sure as shit he’d want a decent budget so he could attract better players.

Apart from your last statement, everything else would’ve been decided above him.

I'm truly done with them regardless. Their conduct is irreparable for me.

Interview that didn’t reveal much we don’t already know.

Did think it was very nige free though. Consistently said “I believe we have the infrastructure, team, facilities to get to the premier league” what about the manager?

Although I thought the lack of new info was more on the questions asked personally.

Maybe, like me, he believes that people should be treated as they treat others.

Firstly how do you know that it's not the other way round and Nige wants to retire in his acres of woodland that he's recently purchased? This is equally plausible without knowing the facts. I'm not saying that is the case because again that would just be conspiracy.

Plus you act like Nige is really hard done by! He manages a football club and likely earns a million plus in his contract. He's done a brilliant job for us during this recent austerity but this club bashing without the full facts is baffling.

Did he say losses last year were round about £20m?? How would that work, the Semenyo sale and further cutbacks.

That is several million higher than I anticipated if so.

FFP he said no concern about and no surprise there.

No he didn’t.  He didn’t comment on actual losses for 22/23 other than saying he’s not saying!!!  I guess that is commercially sensitive and not audited yet either  He did say Steve put in £20m last season (£22.5m in June), but that is to cover the running costs / Cashflow as I understand it.  I know there’s two more pages of comments I haven’t read yet (I’m on pg3) so might’ve been covered by someone more knowledgeable.

We really need to see 22/23’s accounts and see what fees (payment terms agreed when selling) are still due to see why Cashflow is required to this level.  Looking at the accounts for 21/22 it looks like we payed for 85% Atkinson and Tanner up-front.  So in some respects we might be flexing our muscle on inbounds by being cash rich enough (through SL) to offer favourable terms when we are buying.  In 20/21 we were still owed £11m in fees!  Most of that was cleared in 21/22.

If I was PA / GM I wouldn’t be issuing 22/23s accounts ahead of the Jan window, but we are usually an early-bird, so if they do we will start to get a better feel for the budget for this season (based on 22/23’s numbers).

Right, time to catch up with the rest of the posts!

Ok, presided over the playing squad whilst those things were done to him.

He has 71% of LJ’s wage budget and 18% of his transfer expenditure but the same objective.

It depends what you call facts.

You only have to listen to the very rare interviews from the board, and today CEO, to realise what the true facts are, regardless of whether we are being told them.
