Without being rude, there’s been enough written on here and discussed by people like Nige himself, to know that TGH can play multiple midfield roles and RB.  We have a small squad (smaller wage budget it appears!), versatility is very handy.

Why not just see how it plays out before foretelling the negative future, or alternatively foretell a positive future, where he’s not just Jack of all trades, but Master of them too.

This is very interesting . I don’t think George has done much wrong at all . He is though a traditional full back , defend first. Perhaps nige thinks TGH as more of a attacking full back . Some WBA fans said defending wasn’t his best aspect . We’ll find out today .

also . It’s bloody lovely the transfer window is closed. We got what we got now let’s get on with playing football ?

So is TGH a midfielder or a right back? When we landed him in I was under the impression he was a right back but apparently he's meant to be a midfielder? Whatever Pearson brought him in to do I hope he's not just switched between the two positions, that's not going to get him consistent if one game he's a right back and the next he's in midfield.

Also, if he's a right back and he does well and we complete the signing what does that mean for McCrorie and Tanner? Will Tanner be back up and McCrorie goes into midfield? I mean I'm glad we have some players who are versatile but what ever happened to players specialising in one position?

We need on far more in an attacking midfielder role at present

100%.

My very comprehensive report from my WBA supporting mate made it clear he saw him as a midfielder who can play RB, but his position appearance stats show he’s played plenty of games in both.

Tanner has struggled of late, it’s good we have another option, though with TGH missing the next one he appears highly likely to get another go then.

With small numbers the fact we can change 6 from midweek & have the options we do on the bench is positive.

Really can’t understand the mindset that moans about things that haven’t happened yet & might well not.

The concern for me is the oft disconnect between Knight and the other 2. They still don"t look like an effective unit for me (yet). Think Williams needs to link with Knight more, too may gaps V Birmingham, for example. James to sit a bit more, let the other 2 win the ball, James the link to the back 4, away at least.

Fair, sometimes takes time.  We started to see some signs away at Hull, maybe Naismith getting earlier ball into the midfield???

Not having a lot of joy connecting from Frankfurt

Nothing happening when I click on the play icon

Ipad RTV app on Germany (Castle / Wursten Windscribe) blank screen).

Fine on iPhone.

Safari doesn't fullscreen

Chrome is fine in full screen.

Guess the iPad app update causing issues.

Thought Nige both looked and sounded quite upbeat in the interview on RTV.. Maybe the worlds not imploding after all..

Fingers crossed for another Hull type away performance.

COYR’s

I don't think most people thought it was....but there was no clarity / comms from above.  Nige gave us some.

Why all the doom and gloom when our last away performance was so positive? I think we’ll win today.

Football is won on the pitch not by how much coverage you get on SSN on deadline day.

We have a team full of committed players who give their all. You reds.

I may regret having said this in two hours time but I think we are much better set up to play away than at home. My worry is that we don’t have the players to break teams down when they come to us and play a counter attacking game but teams tend not to do that at home and we’re quite well set up to counter attack against others.

And as I mentioned, I think we have a lot of players with versatility, the issue is those same players don't seem to have a best position which can slow down progression of that player. Look at how many positions Vyner has been played in before he's finally finding his feet. My issue is our lack of consistency, if you look at football the better teams tend to have a core of players who stay in one position, we have a squad so versatile that we're becoming a bit of a jack of all trades and master of none.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how TGH plays at right back, my concern is that if he was bought to play in midfield and ends up holding down a right back position then McCrorie either doesn't get a chance or ends up in midfield when we already have a lot of defensive-minded midfeidlers. I just want to see some consistency.
