Northern Red
That was fun, we should play them more often. 1 Quote Link to comment

cityexile
The second half what the doctor ordered really, no drama, nicking another one a cherry on top. Plymouth took some liberties with their line up, and defensively all over the shop in the first half. Important win to give the fans something to cheer at home, and with away at Leicester next means it’s 12 from 8 at worst, no reason it can not be better. Love me a good weekend win. 4 pts in the end from the two home matches, not too shabby. 1 Quote Link to comment
Dan Robin
A really enjoyable football night. More of the same at Ashton Gate, lads! Quote Link to comment
Barrs Court Red
Classy all over the pitch. I thought City looked very, very good on and off the ball tonight and although we’ve seen glimpses, that was a near 90 min performance at a very high level. Quote Link to comment
BUTOR
Is the ref about to find himself in the evo-stik on Saturday? Sure Yeboah had been booked Quote Link to comment
Loderingo
Excellent result. Will be at best 6th and at worst 7th tomorrow night as Blackburn play Sunderland, while Hull play Leeds. Quote Link to comment

Northern Red
In many ways the second half was more impressive than the first, managed the game well and limited their opportunities until the last couple of minutes when the result had been put beyond doubt. Good subs too. 1 Quote Link to comment
Red Exile
Better side and for once took our half chances. Plymouth are by no means a bad side. Good to see less of the panic in possession that has afflicted our performances in recent times. Impressive win. Encouraging! Quote Link to comment
Red_Alligator
Always a big game for me this one, for reasons I'll not bore you all with. So delighted with an emphatic win. Well played lads! COYR!! Quote Link to comment

Sturny
FT, still not confident we'll see this result through Quote Link to comment

Northern Red
Plymouth reminded me a bit of us in our first few months at this level under Cotts, play some nice stuff and look useful going forward but ridiculously open at the back and prone to the sort of mistakes that they were good enough to get away with in the league below. 2 Quote Link to comment

If you want to blame a player, there are two players. Sykes switched off from the free-kick. Knight, switched off on picking up Randell. It’s not tanners fault. 1 hour ago, MelksRed said: Disagree. As you say it looked VERY reminiscent of us in our first few months. It's definitely not like they were bad with the ball; they made chances and threatened a bit, and with better finishing the game could have been closer. However, as soon as we got the ball and moved forward they looked very open, there were gaps evrywhere and their players were not really working hard enough to recover. I think they will be alright and stay up, but if they have injuries to key players they could be in for some nervous times. Especially evident since the side we saw them play in the first half was as according to their fans largely their second string due to the 7 changes. The side that ended the game for them was better - You'd assume schumacher will have learnt his lesson. 1 Quote Link to comment

BUTOR
Unchanged line up was a great call. Paid off to start full strength and make the tweaks early rather than going with a slightly weakened starting eleven. Cornick down the middle and off the bench looks like exactly the type of thing people were saying we needed to go and sign on loan. Also quite liked TGH not just walking back into RB, would have been a direct message to Tanner that he is now nothing but back up. TGH looked good as an option in midfield too, a suitable enough replacement for Knight when he tires or should he succumb to injury. We’ve had good starts to both of Nige’a full seasons so I’m not getting carried away yet, but promising signs. A balanced side with pace, skill, reasonable toughness and with a cleverness to it. Game management tonight was excellent. Edited September 19, 2023 by BUTOR 1 Quote Link to comment

Last season it started to fall apart when injuries started piling up, this season it seems to be in spite of a fair number of injuries and we hopefully have players returning in the coming weeks. Imagine what our options will look like with Atkinson, Weimann and Conway back 2 Quote Link to comment
