The season he first broke through, might’ve even been his first start, tore his hamstring after 15 mins against Stoke or Wednesday (can’t remember which).  It let Tommy into the first team picture.

Ironically, and somewhat fitting for that season as a whole, believe it or not that was the first injury he’s ever had.

First thing I am doing when I buy the club off Lansdown is knocking down the HPC, removing the Rovers scarf from the foundations that’s clearly planted there along with other witchcraft, bless the site with Thatchers Gold, rebuild it and call it the Bristol City Training Ground.

Probably could do with relocating from Fail-and too

All the best to Sam, it never rains but it pours eh.

How many hamstring injuries is that this season now?

Think thats what? - Sykes, Atkinson (two recurrances), and Bell with pretty serious Hamstring injuries since Rennie left in the last 6 weeks. Compared to two over 5 months inluding preseason for Ayman (rehab) and Conway (end of pre-season?)...

King was an ankle(?) recurrance iirc. Zak was a ligment strain. Tanner impact injury at Stoke, with Sykes lacerating his foot the same game (https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-injury-rotherham-united-8797849)

Almost as if a certain former head of medical and ex-manager mostly had to content with an unfortunate number of impact injuries but had the right idea reducing grass time over the international break to avoid over-stressing player fitness in a congested schedule.

I'm getting irritable again, so I'm going to stop there.

Some people are more susceptible to hamstring injuries than others. Quite a few years ago an England wicketkeeper (Alan Knott?) had regular hamstring problems which he solved by doing non stop  exercises to stretch the hamstrings. He did this in his non playing time and throughout each match, making him look as though he had ants in his pants. Cricket is different to football but the principles are the same as, being a wicket keeper,  he would have to do sudden sprints to get the ball. The City’s medical staff are obviously qualified but it begs the question as to whether or not they are drafting preventative exercises for the players to follow, particularly those returning from long injuries.

Off grass doesn’t need to be off site, plenty to do in the gym, film to watch, none full throttle work that can be done.

Tell that to the ownership who specifically implied and insinuated Pearson wasn't on the training pitch enough.

Meanwhile Manning now isn't getting the time he wants due to fixture congestion.

The statement was “9 days off” not 9 days not on the grass

9 days off - from their staff and teammates.

Not 9 days on the beers and kebabs.  This is a driven bunch who will have been doing their own programmes, but also benefitting from the things that go with not having to go into the HPC every day with a reduced group due to injuries and international call-ups.
