Giles I like you right, But from what I saw the QPR fans' came at us mate. We didn't provoke it at all. T%hey were throwing everything at us. If someone attacks you in the street are you just going to stand there and let them? Of course you wouldn't. You wasn't there mate so don't try laying the blame on our fans.

If teh club want to relocate me then I would rather have a full refund.

As i said mate, i only saw the city fans moving towards the QPR fans. I was at the opposite end of the ground to it so granted, i hardly had the best of views. Obviously the QPR fans did something either in retaliation or to start it. Were you in the EE or a different part of the ground that wouldve had a better view? I've got a mate who sits in the Dolman and he didnt exactly defend the city fans.

I hope both him and myself are wrong and that the QPR fans did start it but again, just saying what i saw from the opposite end of the ground.

I was right next to the QPR fans so i cant tell you what happened.......

Leading up to kick off, both sets of fans were singing songs at eachother, Both very loud and thats all it was until....

about 8 chav QPR lads came in and walked straight towards us and started goading the city fans.........

At this point the city fans started to get irritated and started to go towards the QPR fans. One thing that should be noted that there was only one steward (who did nothing) at city's end, two at QPR's end & no coppers!

The City fans went towards the R's fans... The Qpr lot could'nt come any closer beacuse of the black sheet on the seats, although they tried... Things were being thrown, but the old bill turned up just in time, before it really kicked off...

People were not arrested at this point..... it was later, so one can only assume that it was for swearing, because there was no trouble after that.....

From what i saw about 10-15 minutes before the game, then the EE should be shut for 1 or 2 games and Relocate the season ticket holders (there isnt many!) to another stand after the idiots in there tried getting to the QPR fans,

People have campaigned to get the EE opened for the right reasons and people go and do this on the first day of it being back open.

hmmmm funny thing is no one has mentioned the QPR idiots coming for a ruck and i've gone around the net

to research this fact and it does not read good for bristol citys so called nutters, we have worked hard to clean

up the EE for trouble and it is working, if a few kids get brave in there then the police will deal with them but

where were they at full time out side the ground? nowhere, lets get this trouble crap in to perspective,

posturing, swearing and gesturing happens at every ground in england

and shutting the eastend down to home fans for this is going too far, the whole of the gate would be shut

mabe the police should look in to the away support more, shut there side down if you think like that.

posted on a qpr thug website.

a bit dissapointed with the Bristol firm as we know you can pull a mob and we have respect for you from previous encounters. You were at home, just promoted first game of the season blah blah....but you didn't seem to get it together. Our boys have really put ourselves in the frame now as we had to take it to you with Bristol OB and Bush OB all over us. When we came out the ground after being held in and walked up the hill we saw you at the top and you saw us but we could see you didn't fancy it but we marched up and done the biz anyway. Was surprised at your low numbers, thought we had our work cut out with the 60 - 70 of us that travelled albeit good, solid chaps, but it ended up being a bit of a walkover. No disrespect intended chaps but just telling it how it was. An earlier post from you lot seemed to imply it was just your youth that had it......now we both know that isn't true don't we. Your older lot were there but for some reason were content to stay behind your youth and watch as they got a slap. Not impressive really now is it. Later, we were embarrassed for you when the 12 or so idiots bounced to within, ooooohh, a 100 yards of us in the escort on the way back to Temple Meads station. The insults they threw really upset us lol.

Have your inquest, sort yourselves out in time for the return fixture or i advise you not to travel.

People were not arrested at this point..... it was later, so one can only assume that it was for swearing, because there was no trouble after that.....

The thing with swearing and the police is simple, they won't arrest you for general earshot swearing

ie: songs or general good nature banter, they will however nick you if you are arguing with them or

with someone in front of them for swearing, they will warn you 3 times and on the 3rd time your nicked,

so if someone was nicked for just swearing then my guess is they told a copper to f-off directly to their

face more than once and if warned then people are fair game to be nicked.

As for families in the ground not just the EE and there is swearing and this must be for sure common

knowledge that swearing happens at football and parents should go there with this in mind, it is why city

have a family stand in part of the atyeo for parents with a delicate ear to take their kids to, if people

don't undertake this use of a stand with their kids then i can only assume they enjoy a real football

atmosphere with their kids, swearing included??.

I got man handled unfairly and nearly got nicked against Swansea for singing with swearing in it. Explain that.

east end. i wasnt even that close to the swansea fans either.

when i posted what police should do you will in life get the odd ones as in fans that bend the rules,

the thing is that day there were welsh police who bit at anti welsh songs so you may well have fallen

victim to it and thats the very point of your post saying the EE should be shut becuse of idiot fans

going at qpr? or ott police? WE can't have it both ways to shut a stand, what people should and shouldn't do

don't always go to plan and that works as much for the police and stewards as it does the fans, so i don't

belive saturday has any strong case to shut the EE.

And this is exactly why the club were so keen to keep the EE closed to home fans.Whenever you put two sets of rival fans in close proximity,in the same stand you are inviting trouble - regardless of which stadium you are in.

Saturday's antics just go to show how some fans cannot be trusted to behave responsibly. - If 8 QPR chavs were trying to goad me I'd laugh at them and then ignore them. There was no need to react at all but the youngs boys just couldn't help themselves......

If there are any more confrontations over the season in the EE then the club would have every right to close it again to home fans.

In my opinion we should have given the atyeo to away fans... problem solved

The situation only escalated because of the lack of Old Bill and stewards - as soon as they turned up, all the trouble died down.

I was in there saturday and will be back with kids again to savour the atmosphere, i saw nothing to trouble me only some comical posturing.Had a look at QPR site simply to see what they thought of the match and it struck me this non event is not mentioned there. Some fans here should get some pespective and maybe look at themeselves, lot of axe grinding going on.

Its quite pathetic really because the alternative is to go back to last seasons library, that was truly embarrassing.

So going by that should your dolman club and the dolman stand be shut down due to the fact 4 people i

seen were escorted out the ground by stewards and 1 by police FROM THE DOLMAN STAND saturday, those of

which drink in the red and white bar where they consumed alcohol??

come on common sense here, the club employ door staff on the door in the red and white bar 1.becuse it's

compulsory and 2.they the club feel they bloody need it to deal with any situation that may happen, same

with the EE, if it is 8 young kids playing up then the battle is almost won, those kids kicked out banned

job done then the next game the other 992 in the EE can enjoy the game and atmosphere.

as stuck in work said mountain out of molehills

itend to disagree with this statement as when i went to anfield last season the anfield road end has home and away support and there was no trouble at all inside the ground

Saturday's antics just go to show how some fans cannot be trusted to behave responsibly. - If 8 QPR chavs were trying to goad me I'd laugh at them and then ignore them. There was no need to react at all but the youngs boys just couldn't help themselves......

never had a rush of passion about your goalkeeper getting injured or a player getting badly fouled not condoning them but they are as you say young and imprresionable

If there are any more confrontations over the season in the EE then the club would have every right to close it again to home fans.

Again if they do they will alienate they many because of the few and that seems unfair to those that have paid in advance their money to sit where they want to

The problem escalated due to the lack of stewards and police there, if anything, it was the clubs fault, the two sets of fans in the EE were left un-policed for about 30 mins prior to the 'riot', by that time we could of all killed eachother.

The club need to get the police in the EE as soon as the fans coming in start to increase. The club was asking for trouble. two large sets of fans with only 1-2 stewards seperating them? Come on.

BTW: Is anyone getting problems with subcider? Nothing seems to load for me.

Agree on this. I dispair at such things. I know people will say "nothing really happened" but it's a fine line between goading and it all kicking off. Things do escalate and Saturday was just so sad. First of all it's amazingly pathetic. Those people who started walking towards the QPR fans etc should look at themselves and see how daft and immature it makes you look. It REALLY does. But it's also sad as myself and others have spent much time and effort trying to get the East End open- to see a handful of idiots almost ruin it is gutting.

People may argue the police/club did or didn't do A, B or C but it's down to the individuals to take responsibility for their own actions.

Exactly, hence the 'riot', and how people over exaggerate things.

Thet's be honest, the majority on here don't like the idea of the EE being open, so if anything like this was to happen, I knew you would all over exaggerate it, no doubt you've all already flooded the club with emails asking for the closure of the EE.

At the end of the day, no one was harmed, the outburst was contained before it kicked off, and it was a cracking match. The arrests were nothing to do with it, it was to do with people swearing at the coppers when the coppers asked them to refrain from being too aggressive at the QPR fans, to stop anything kicking off again.

If it wasn't for these stupid incidents then I don't think anyone would have a problem with it at all. SOME EastEnders seem to have a siege mentality as though everyone is against them. Snap out of it.

It's open and pretty much everyone wants it to work. A tiny number of people who are stupid and pathetic risk spoiling it for everyone. I really hope they don't.

Thats the point, the police, stewards, club SOMEBODY should be stepping in to take out THE SMALL number so the

rest can enjoy it but this is not being addressed, if you run a night club with 1,000 people in it and 8 people are fighting

you don't kick everyone out you deal with the 8 so then the problem is gone, in the past the club have made the majority

suffer for the minority when they pay the police and co a great deal of money to stop it.

Thing is CH I didn't swear once at the Police, Just general swearing that you would hear from most at football. Keeper takes a goal kick you fat bastard. I was told if I swear and abuse a player again I would be arrested and given a banning order. If I wanted to abuse a player I would use much more than you fat bastard. OTT me thinks and I hope us and the Police can find some middle ground over matters like this. All I want to do is come to football have a laugh and support the lads.

I don't think thats the case Robbored. However you do like to highlight the downfalls of the East end for example I do recall you mentioning how many season tickets they had sold a month or so ago. It appears that you would like nothing more than for it to fail. Shame really cos the majority of lads in there create the best atmosphere in the stadium.

C'mon Alan, Your balanced view on the EE is as balanced as a seesaw with a 12 stone person one end and a 30 stone person the other end.

From day one you have wanted the EE to fail, And now that there was a slight bit of disorder you are rubbing your hands in glee.

How about sounding out the positives from Saturday? Everyone in there enjoyed being in there. The Ashton Gate Library is now closed for good and most importantly the players hand support for the whole 90+ Min's. Can't remember anyone moaning, Instead just supporting and encouraging the players.

Your wrong.

In the past anyone who dared not be an EE activist on this forum would be subjected to abuse and insults, I clearly remember some people who were not necessarily against the EE being opened but simply tryed to reason to why maybe it wouldnt be, they were simply shouted down.

Edit: Just for the record I'm glad it's open!!

Christ on a bike !!!

For the last time NOTHING OF ANY NOTE HAPPENED

This argument has been taken out of all context. Those who want the EE to fail have jumped in with both feet, a few gobby kids were dealt with correctly by police and stewards - so what ?

The atmosphere was great and many enjoyed the experience>

Remember this is football not the goddam theatre.

Rightly or wrongly, it is a 'criminal offence' to swear in a public arena these days, which I think is crazyness. Surely everyone in the country is guilty of swearing at a football ground at some point in their lives?

What I find is amazing is that the players at any level regularly shout profanities at the ref/opposition and it's almost accepted but when a fan does it, it becomes an arrestable offence. Surely that's a grey area?! Millions of people would've seen yesterday's Man Utd-Reading game on Sky witnessing Rooney and, in particular, John Oster clearly spouting expletives towards the ref and it almost sets an acceptable example that fans and players alike follow.

I'm not condoning it but it doesn't offend me as I would just go and watch Rugby or Cricket if I wanted to mix with the prawn sandwich brigade. Not only is it a massive waste of the tax payer's money but it's policital correctness gone mad if you ask me and begs the question, what is acceptable behaviour at a football match these days? :dunno:

Just back from Nassau in the Bahamas with some piccies to wind up the Gas - and I can't post them on Subcider due to the server problems. :(

Anyway...... :city: ........my tribute to the famous Bristolian pirate killer - Woodes-Rogers; who, with the personal motto below, would surely be BCFC's greatest supporter were he alive today........

"Expulsis Piratis/Restituta Commercia" - Gas pirates expelled, commerce restored. :winner_third_h4h:

woodesrogersbcfcda3.jpg

Woodes-Rogers commanded a privateering expedition (1708-11) around the world, sponsored by Bristol merchants whose ships had been lost to pirates. In 1709 he rescued Alexander Selkirk - a Scottish seaman whose adventures later provided the basis for Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe - from a Pacific island. In 1717 Woodes-Rogers was appointed Governor of the Bahamas. The following year he arrived at Nassau, headquarters of more than 2,000 pirates, where he established orderly government and forced many pirates to surrender.
