When in the pub i did say that to one off them, he said "you are welcome to leave, but if you do i will nick you" Grrrr

Did you ask the officer in question as to what he would be arresting you with? I'm starting to get bored of being bullied as football fans by Police.

Police don't need a reason..... if you havent done nothing wrong, they will make something up. I just try and keep my distance from coppers as much as possible

Here's something I don't understand about football and the polcie etc and our emdia.

When English fans get bothered abroard by police ie Moscow (England fans), Roma (Man Utd fans), Sevilla (Tottenham fans), the media are full of it, and the Government make inquiries.

But when it happens in this country ie yesterday and I'm sure many grounds across the country every Saturday, our media, quiet as a churchmouse. :disapointed2se:

Inside the ground, mulitple City fans were ejected because they jumped on the tarmac when we had scored.

Pathetic and way over-handed, and people say we have the best police force in the world?!

There was a massive yellow sign that said they would be removed from the Stadium if they went on this tarmac! It is there own fault! Some people do not bloody listen or read, so I'm glad they got chucked out! (Idiots).

Don't get in their way and they won't get in yours! Simple!

How can it be simple if the police are waiting for you at the train station, direct you to a pub, then escort you from the pub to the ground?

It is OTT policing, for the simple reason, this is the easiest way for them to deal with it, and sod all the fans and their enjoyment. :disapointed2se:

I think there is a law that says they can, if they believe that you are liable to cause a public order offence, and that is obviously at their discretion. Yesterday, anybody who dared to step even close to the edge of the cordon was shoved back in or thrown to the ground and manhandled away. Finally, another point is that we were being filmed on camcorder the whole way to the ground, yet the police tried to stop us filming them on our phones. Wonder what the law states about that?

Mark Thomas the comedian did a really funny sketch on the London underground about the filth filming people, look it up on Youtube it's funny as ****!

If your going to come out with a stupid statement like that then make sure its correct.

WE were the ones who were having to tell the police to calm down yesterday. Some of them were spoiling for it, and that seems to be a regular occurrence.

I know i'm going to be in a minority but I thought it was all handled in a sensible manner up at Sheffield.

Agree with you mate!

Had friendly banter with the police on way to the ground.

We have a lot of idiotic drunks that can't help 'acting up' after a few pints.

If you do nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear - simple!

It is not stupid! It's true! - If you read it a bit harder, you will know what it means!

If only. What if the police suddenly surround a pub your in and don't let you go anywhere??

Then you are in their way! - What is wrong with finding somewhere quiet to drink before the game. Just because you are in the majority, doesn't make you right! - I had no problems at all yesterday! A gang of City Fans, or ANY fans for that matter, is going to result in a Police presence! - Go somewhere quieter, and save any pent up agression for the game!

The police are making a very dodgy situation for themselves in my opinion , twice this season i have got caught up in this so called bully boy escourt tactics and it has really pissed me off , so now what i do is sneak away from the police ,( u can do it if you try )i don't go anywhere near the police offered or the so called away pubs as this is how u come mobbed up by the police , yesterday i ended up in a club full of utd fans ( and there was some big lads in there i can tell you ) as soon as said ( excuse me me old babber n e chance of giving i a nice pint of cider ) the rest of the club looked at us , GULP , i thought time to die , but no need to worry they were good as gold and made us really welcome , but what I'm trying to say is that it could have turned nasty ,this is what could end up happening with fans avoiding the so called away pubs and mingling in other pubs mixing with the locals and they might not always be as accomadating as the sheffield lads we met saturday and things could be kicking off everywhere, oh and by the way only £1.60 a pint ,

we may have lost but great day, great performance , and great support , well done allround

How hard would you like me to read it?. Complete and utter rubbish.

They like to make a point at football matches of actually "getting in the way" just to try and antagonise people.

If you havent seen that then you walk round with your eyes shut.

How can you do this when the police chase fans down the road to prevent them going anywhere quieter?

Half agree with what you are saying , but it was the manner in which they were being ejected , way over the top they couldnt wait to get there hands on any city fan and basically bully them out not eject them

No, apparently it's someone elses fault, the state, their mothers, they were smacked as children, they never got enough praise at school, anything but the people who did it. How can grown men be expected to read big warning signs?

I was sat right at the front and didn't see any signs about tarmac :dunno: seen one's about not going on the pitch though.

So did I - they should have had gates there not gaps !! :protest:

Thought the police & stewards were a bit heavy handed - did it really need 12 police officers in riot gear to remove one home fan!!

This is the same police force that were at Hillsborough on that dreadful day in 1989 (20 years ago next year)

you would think that they would have learnd lessons from that and know how to treat football fans as people and not animals, but obviously some things never change.

Best Police in the world ???!!!! Our Police are widely regarded as the most corrupt and class based in Western Europe. The Police are led by the toff/snob inbred idiots that are the Crown Prosecution Service lawyers. While the Police be monitoring us - someone be monitoring them......

Only by you.

Try looking over at Europe.

The Police - especially the Yorkshire Police - have got an appalling reputation for corruption. Their actions - especially during 1984/85 - against Trades Unionists are infamous to this day......
