Winning five in a row will mean we’ve had an amazing end to the season so would mean a lot going into next season

It’s just a shame that if it happens the run would’ve come too late to amount to anything. The season is dead at this point for us.

But yes I agree with points raised in response to my original post regarding increasing general mood & potential mood going into next season.

  2. Never missed so many games in one season & adding tomorrow to the list as well.

The miserable record we have against recently relegated sides is putting me off, coupled with the early kick off & how early I’d need to leave to park when it’s pretty much a sell out.

I also mentioned this prior to Southampton, so here’s hoping we upset the odds again & give the fans something to cheer about but I’ll be watching it from the pub then off to watch some local stuff at 3.

William Hill offering Evens on Leicester to score the first goal if anyone fancies a bet!

  3. Oxford players only ever got 3 days off during an international break when Manning was there. Expect it’ll be the same here.

Did anyone ever look to see what our results were like after international breaks under Pearson? I don’t ever remember them being that bad whereas under Lee Johnson we seemed to lose every time.

Nice to see 5 of the boys out in the city centre celebrating a 2-0 loss in Flight Club with a few beers……

Who cares? They’re allowed to have a life outside of football. It’s their own free time.

  5. Big win for Clevedon Town following Bridgwaters 4-1 loss. 1 point behind the league leaders but Helston do have two games in hand.

Wonder how much the Bridgy chairman regrets getting rid of the previous gaffer now? They’re 10 points off Helston now!

Honestly the Cribbs players looked rattled by the atmosphere when the players were coming out.

After a quieter opening 20 from the fans and own goal by the Cribbs keeper was the perfect opportunity for the fans to leap onto and they never looked back.

Still there now as when I left the building I saw my last train already pulling in, so a long walk back to Kingswood soon.

Still, worth it for the night, and redemption after the defeat at Cribbs earlier this season in a game with the worst refereeing performance I have ever seen between games I was at live or televised.

Georgie Kellow, he left cause they're shit!

Couldn’t believe how bad Cribbs were tbh.

That’s my first time watching them & I had heard they were a direct side but I didn’t think they’d be *that* direct.

Every chance was basically from a long throw & their goal came from a flicked on goal kick.

Manor Farm impressed me, I wasn’t expecting them to run away with it in the way they did.

  7. Glad to see Branthwaite in. Been good this season & will be in the squad for years to come.

I think there’s only 5 or 6 spaces up for grabs this summer barring any new injuries or injury come back from Shaw.

The 3 GK’s will be in

    Walker, Stones, Maguire, Chilwell

Those 5 midfielders all get in

Foden, Rashford, Saka, Kane, Watkins all guarantees.

    Leaves 6 from

    Gomez, Branthwaite, Konsa, Dunk, Trippier

    TAA, Phillips

    Palmer, Bowen, Toney, Gordon

  8. Went to watch Cribbs Reserves v Boco tonight.

Great first half, 3 goals and a missed penalty from Cribbs.

    Boco won 2-1.

I think Portishead will win the league, but anyone down to 8th in with a shout of play offs.

Be good to have a couple more local sides in the Toolstation Prem next year & rid of 1 or 2 Devon based ones!

Anyone have any idea if they’re looking to restructure the leagues at the end of this season or have talks failed again?

  9. Sam Curtis was wanted by a lot of good clubs in January, I’d argue he was the best player in Ireland with how many sides seemed to be interested.

Sheffield United ended up getting him, he’s been on their bench a couple of times but not yet managed to make a first team appearance.

I agree that it is weird that we’re yet to see Murphy even in an U23 game though.

Naismith came on a free and will have one year left. He will be gone, in my view.

The Wells contract runs to the end of this year, if I recall correctly, as it was a "new" one in Dec 2022 for 2 years. Likely to go to a relegated Championship club or the local route (near neighbours). The former more likely owing to wages. All guesses, of course.

Wells is out of contract next summer, signed until summer 2025.

I really don’t see either being a top target for any clubs that will pay them a wage close to what they’ll be getting now.

If neither play at all next season, I can see us doing what we did with Martin & agreeing to mutual termination in January. But don’t see them going in the summer.

  11. This thread kind of reminds me of this from 2018.

That opening post I’ve linked to, is one of the most unforgettable posts I’ve seen on here & I think about it frequently.

Tinnion was a ‘jobs for the boys’ back when being appointed as a manager, and he’s seems to be in a role above his station now.

It's not anecdotal, it's a fact. I'd say I've had 50-60 calls this week wanting to hire our 3G pitch and there's very little, if any room.

We’ve hired out one in Weston to get our game on in Somerset County Prem.

Tried to get the GFA pitch last weekend but that was already booked, can’t believe you’ve had 50/60 calls though, that is mental.

Don’t really know what the answer is, playing through summer wouldn’t be ideal because of everyone wanting to go on their holidays & of course the high 30 degs weather we’ve experienced lastc couple of years at times.
