Surprised me this morning, thought something big had happened. Here's a highlight snippets to save any wasted excitement .

Kane Wilson, rumour he has been told he can leave.
Massengo, Spanish site linking him with Burnley.
James Walker, former Academy keeper joins Hungerford.
Jack Taylor, general link and chatter.
Steven Sessegnon , former loanee available on a free.
Alex Scott, linked to Premier League Tottenham, Brighton, WHU, Liverpool and Wolves
Scott Twine, another random account link.
Aaron Sainsbury, Former Bristol City goalkeeper,  has joined Yate Town
Jason Knight, someone saying interest then listing Bristol Live as source !
Luton Transfer News bigging up their chance of landing Scott as no one has come close to City's price yet !

and a nice pole* to fill the hours until the Ashes start.

Yes I meant Poll , but so as the reply makes sense I'll leave it

I believe you would’ve been on the ‘For you’ page of the search tab on Twitter. It lists stuff you’re interested in or interacted with. The actual trends are one across under ‘Trending’

I also thought City were trending a few times previously before realising this was the case.

@Carey 6 Louis what's that player valuation software that you showed me that professional clubs use?

Would be interesting to see what price they put on Scott?

It’s called TransferRoom. Mentioned in this article here about how we used it to sell Semenyo.

    https://www.dorset.live/sport/football/bournemouth-semenyo-online-transfer-market-8275256.amp

The valuations on it are just expected transfer values, they go off of previous transfers of players in a similar age/position and use them as benchmarks. They currently have Scott at £15m-20m

Clubs are able to make players available, set a fee & add ons they would like to receive in order to sell a player if they wish.

Clubs can declare an interest at the click of a button on there and it opens up a private messaging tab where they can negotiate or exchange details.

Clubs can also arrange friendlies on there.

“Asked by CoventryLive if he’s pleased to see Palmer playing with a smile on his face again, Pearson said after the 1-1 New Year’s Day draw: “Very much so and look, he’s a decent lad. I saw his wife and children here today and yes, it’s good for him”

also states in that article that he isn’t a bad egg.

As we’ve seen with Bakinson, who was still our player at the time, if the player was a bad egg Pearson would tell it as it is.

Surprised by the positive sentiment towards Palmer, especially given how harsh we can be on some of our other ex-players.

For me, he's a player who lacked discipline and focus during his time here (and cost us a hell of a lot of money in doing it, though in fairness that's MA's fault).

I thought his performances lacked a real consistency, but never though a lack of effort tbh.

When we saw genuine good movement ahead of him in Afobe for that small period he flourished.

As you say, was an Ashton/Johnson signing that didn’t quite work out, but was plenty of them.

Into double figures now the number of teams that are appealing against the league that they have been placed in

    Bishops Stortford being the latest

Where have you seen all the teams that have appealed? Anyone local? Guessing Mangotsfield will be one.

My word there is a lot of jealousy/snobbishness on this thread. Both Coventry and Luton have been in the top division much more recently than us. It just shows that it you get it right on the pitch, any team from the Championship can get to the play off final like we did in 2008. Equally, it highlights that it has been a long time since we last got it right on the pitch (in the Championship).
FWIW I think Luton will go up. They lost their manager and some players and showed that the club set up works well because they kept being competitive. Hopefully we will soon have our own season to celebrate.

Nothing wrong with being jealous of the success. If you're not jealous of it then what do you really want for City?

Snobbishness is different, I'm not sure I've seen too much of it on here. I don't for one second think we deserve it more than them! - If anyone does think that way, why?

Most just making the point that another two non parachute payment teams that have come up into the Championship more recently than us are now competing to play in the best division in the world. If anything, it gives me hope that we can do it.

Luton vs Coventry in the Play-Off final.

****ing hell. What a depressing, underwhelming, and embarrassing fixture.

Does make you jealous doesn’t it.

Gives me a bit of hope that we can do it, but again two clubs that hve come up from League One after we did & seemingly overtaking us.

So Crawley with 350 runs (170 of which in one innings) in 9 innings has done enough to keep his spot.... he's averaging 22.5 without that ton knock. If Crawley opens in the ashes he'll be a walking wicket.

Mental how many chances he's had. I'd rather see any of the batters named in the rest of that 15 open than him. I hope he does shut up the doubters like myself but I just cant see it.

If I'm Foakes and that first test or two goes tits up, I'd be like thanks but no thanks, I'll enjoy my summer now.

  9. Not too sure a reserve side should be allowed to play above county league tbh.

Quite a few complaints about Bitton going straight into Div 1 as well.

Strange that they’d opt for 19 teams in the Prem. Why not just leave Keynsham where they were? Mind you, they probably don’t fancy the away days at Helston, Torpoint & Falmouth much.

Approx £31 million to put this on.

    £10 million donated by Government.

The majority of the rest by the BBC.

If Turin last year is anything to go by, should make back double that you'd expect.

Last year’s host city, Turin in Italy, spent about £10m on the contest, and said it made back at least seven times that amount through tourism.

  11. I see Zak Crawley was out for 7 today.

Saw a stat a moment ago saying 50% of his innings in the county champ this season have ended with a single digit score. Did hit 170 v Essex the other week though. But not sure it happens enough for him to be a mainstay in the England side.

I look forward to him facing Starc first ball of the Ashes and us seeing a repeat of Rory Burns in 2021.

What is Bristol's "Old Kent Road"?

It’s mad because I was only telling my mates yesterday that a Bristol monopoly already exists & their get rich quick scheme to make one wouldn’t take off!

Sent em a photo yesterday of it so here it is.

Cheek of it having AG (even if it was pre rebuild the same colour as the Mem)

Firstly thanks to @shahanshahan and @phantom for the running updates on this thread.

Living abroad, it's been great to keep upto date with the Ladies wonderful season.

Hopefully with crowds of 5000+ and hopefully more, then investment will be made in the team to keep it up, evolve and belong.

Surely it's only a matter of time before the WSL is screened on Sky / Fox etc - every game, every week.

The attendances are pretty compelling for the broadcasters to recognise the obvious demand to watch these matches.

It will be a struggle obviously - but with 4 or 5 inspired signings, maybe, just maybe, the ladies can stay up.

Not too sure, you have to think League One & most of League Two average attendance wise is probably much higher than that and it's rarely ever televised.

But then the WSL may be cheaper to buy rights for I suppose. So less in the way of getting it on TV.

Curtis Davies released from Derby. Wonder if he’s an option given our pursuit of him last summer.

Shouldn't imagine so, another year older and being released from division below. Only played 24 times as well.

I see Matty Taylor has been released by Oxford. Wonder where he will go.

Had a deal lined up at Port Vale prior to Darrell Clarke being sacked, so not too sure if they'll end up going for it anyway, got 4 in 14 games I think.

A lot of Oxford fans seem to think he's finished at the level.

To be fair, this is one of the most enjoyable reads I've had for a while.

Not just the result and description of our performance but found myself chuckling all the way through.

I'd like the author added to our summer transfer targets!

    Yep, very enjoyable.

I was going to post a thread about it on it's own but just decided to stick it in here in regards to the Scott comment. Article very complimentary of us throughout.

  17. Just having a read of the QPR forum.

The five of them were stationed around the centre-piece star boy Alex Scott, a 19-year-old kid so far and above the standard of this match that he didn’t even have to pad up and pull his socks up to play in it. City played into, off, through and around him with mesmeric, comfortable ease in something crunching between second and third gear. A beautiful footballer, so obviously destined for bigger and better things, I could have happily sat and watched him glide around all afternoon and, such was QPR’s pathetically impassive approach to dealing with him and his team mates, that’s essentially what I got to do.
