I do not know how accurate this information is. But I heard off a fellow red today. That there is a demonstration against Nigel Pearson planned for Saturday's game.

Strikes me as not needed and crazy. We need to show unity at present.

Entitled to do as they please but seems completely daft to me. Things aren’t that bad, we’re hardly cut adrift at the bottom by 10 points.

I got slated for saying this a few months ago.

He wasn’t the only one. SL blocked a number of former players from returning under LJ.

I don’t know why though, Murray wasn’t bad & Carey certainly wasn’t after returning.

I remember being told some years ago pretty confidently that Skuse was returning but makes sense as to why it didn’t happen now.

  3. Sorry where do the bad attitude/big headed claims come from? Have I missed a story?

The suggestion is that if his ability matched his own opinion of it, he would have been coming back from the World Cup around now.

If true, perhaps not even bring able to get on the bench at Carlisle will have given him some humility?

Lloyd Kelly a lot better than Dwight McNeil. If Kelly left he would go to a good club. Will be an England player in the next 2 years

Perhaps, obvious link is Eddie Howe’s Newcastle but I still don’t think the fee would be massive, granted you do seem to get a sort of tax on English players though.

Maxwell Cornet & Emmanuel Dennis looked quite good for Burnley & Watford respectively last season & I don’t think the two of them went for much more than 20m each either.

And if/when Webster, Kelly or Brownhill are sold on, that will help as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if at least one of them makes a big move in the summer.

I would be. We’ve been saying this for the last 4 transfer windows haven’t we?

I think the best chance we have is Bournemouth going down and someone moving for Kelly, even then Bournemouths negotiating point will be weaker with him only having a year left & having just been relegated.

Also depends if we have a straight sell on clause or a sell on percentage of profit. Can you see him going for much more than the £13m we sold him for?

Dwight McNeil was relegated with Burnley last season, was 22 years old, had 3 years to run on his contract and went for £20m.

So you’re seriously also suggesting that we drop O’Leary after last week, yeah?

Or does being man of the match by a mile then not mean anything?

You do realise that it was Bajic in goal on Tuesday?

I get that people are disappointed, I was there in midweek, it was effing rubbish, but randomly dropping the bloke who played out of his skin then is just madness, not “opinion”.

I just think your original response to the poster could’ve ended after you asked the question.

I think it would be harsh to drop O’Leary after playing well, so I would probably keep him in goal personally.

But overall I think Bentley is the better goalkeeper of the two of them & shouldn’t have been dropped in the first place.

Goes for Pickford too, guy is a different player for England but often poor for Everton.

He’s rarely poor for Everton. Had a dodgy spell a couple years ago where he made a couple of mistakes but their fans think he’s brilliant. He won their player of the year last season by the way.

He is always class for England though. You see a big drop off in standards whenever any other keeper comes in I reckon.

Why should he be picking Bentley? O’Leary not do enough to keep his place last week? ??

    Embarrasing.

Because Bentley is the better keeper in a lot of peoples opinions. Having a different one to you doesn’t make it embarrassing.

  9. Pearson hooked Tanner early last season at West Brom away and got pelters for not waiting until half time. So I can understand why he did wait today, especially with a player newer to the set up than Tanner was at the time.

Was a similar level of performance today as we saw Sam Bell have against Birmingham last season. Doesn’t look ready to me.

  10. Said in another thread the other day he seems to have lost any sort of composure he had last season. It reminds me of the Semenyo we had in 20/21 season where everything has to be hit as hard as possible.

Needs a goal soon because I think more will follow when he gets one.

It really shows though just how threadbare our squad is and what constraints Pearson is working in.

As soon as we even pick a few players or change it up it goes to shit - it's all very well saying change it up (and broadly people seemed pretty happy when it was announced) but if this is what happens then what can he do?

Players like Low and Kadji are our backups at the moment in some positions.

Just posted pretty much this. I don’t think changing the manager will achieve much at all.

  12. As we’ve seen tonight, we have such a small pool of players that are actually up to playing in the Championship or at a decent standard. The fringe players like King, Klose, Martin aren’t good enough & Kadji, Bajic & Low all looked miles off it.

I know a lot want Pearson gone, but I don’t see anyone coming in & improving us with the current squad.

Hopefully when we get the likes of Naismith & Kalas back, along with Wilson (who hasn’t looked great but will at least give Sykes some competition) we see a big improvement in our style of football and the results we get.
