Man Utd and Man City. Two clubs who have financially made a joke of the English Football in the last 30 years meet in the final for the 2nd year in a row.

Two detestable football clubs with detestable players and managers.

I shall not be watching this literal

Which Man City players would you say are detestable? They all seem very likeable to me

At the moment front 3 should be Foden, Kane & Palmer.

I agree that Palmer should get the nod over Saka, who's looking a bit jaded at the moment. But Foden is arguably more dangerous when he plays in the middle, in the no 10 role

This is how I feel too.

691 quid to renew our season tickets. Can't buy cheaper ones in the south stand.

    400ish quid in travel costs.

Then 20-30 a game on food and drink, although I accept thats optional but that's how I like to consume a match day.

So 1800 for 23 games of boring dull football with the odd good result with no signs of any hope that we will progress any time soon.

I could probably have 23 days abroad and have a fantastic time and have change from 1800.

I could've sworn we won 5-0 a few days ago...

    “Probably done enough” 😂😂

Yeah I can't remember the last time we got four clean sheets in a row. The last time we got three was in 2020 under Dean Holden

Ipswich as good as up after Leicester and Leeds last night. Another one floats on by us.

To be fair, in terms of success, Ipswich have long been a superior club to us

Quite simple, it's the timeline that we had significant FFFP issues. It was widely recognised by almost all on here that it wasn't until the end of last season that we had navigated through FFFP and we could relax a bit.

Pearson still had a pretty good squad to work with last season

Because Liam's performance has also been nowhere near what the suits expected Nige to deliver it is causing quite a few who supported Nige's sacking to pretend things were not said which are obviously a complete embarrassment in hindsight and were called out as such at the time by the many..............

Two and a bit years, the majority of his tenure, not just a couple of months "at the beginning". Nothing like minimisation................

Where are you getting that timeline from?

You completely ignore context, Nige’s job essentially was to keep us up whilst major cost cuttings were made to avoid FFP etc, LM’s job is to take us forward from a more stable position.

Nige succeeded as we are still a championship club. To date, by your own admission, LM has failed, not only has he failed to improve our position, we’ve actually performed worse.

Well, that may have been his remit at the beginning

I know you are, but the constant dragging back to Nige is futile.  Why not actually detail what you’re positive about, why he deserves the summer.  Although saying “I’m prepared to give him the summer”, doesn’t sound like you’re wholly convinced???

I don’t have to “accept it”, because I never not accepted it…I don’t make the decisions. It’s just an opinion.  Im not gonna throw my toys out of the pram on an opinion.  I’ll support whoever is in charge (Pulis an exception), I don’t dislike the bloke, I just don’t feel he’s quite up to it, nor is he a good fit for City.

They're fair points Dave, and as a paying customer you're more than entitled to your opinion. As I've previously stated, I would prefer to have neither Manning nor Pearson in charge. Neither have filled me with much enthusiasm. But equally, I think some of the criticism of Manning has been ramped up because of what happened to his predecessor, and I don't think that's entirely fair

As per my post last night, there’s much more to it than results.

You only need an inch of water to drown.  That’s my way of saying “out of depth” means he’s not at the required level.  He doesn’t have to be much below that level, remember it’s fine margins! 😉

Well, as I said, I'm prepared to give him a summer. And he'll get that anyway, so everyone will have to accept it

Context, Pearson was brought in to completely overhaul the Club, Manning was brought in to take the current squad onto a level it should be at . The owners thought we were under performing.

I liked Pearson , I thought he should have been given until the summer at least , but he's gone.

Now I judge the team on what they do. I don't give a shit that Jon said top 6 side , I do care about trajectory . I don't see any forward momentum at the moment .
The owners didn't take into account that we had the weakest squad out just before  Pearson was binned , how does that equate now ? It was really unlucky that Dickie was out , I think his leadership could have meant the difference.
Last game I thought his half time Subs showed that front foot leadership we wanted. Today was back to the 60 ish minute, like for like Subs . Not inspiring .

More or less the same as Pearson, by the Boards ideas is under performing . Just saying.

Sure, and he did some good work here - but two and a half years on, his results were much the same as the guy who's supposedly out of his depth

That’s academic, he was supposed to be a better coach that would achieve more this season with our present squad. By your own admission, so far he’s failed, we’ve actually performed worse. Based on those facts why would anyone believe he’s the man to take us forward,  I genuinely don’t understand.

I don't think Manning's been great by any means. I think he's done alright - especially considering the pressure he's been under from many fans. For me, it's too early to say whether he'll take us forward, and I'm prepared to give him the summer to find out. To be honest, I don't hold out much hope of anyone doing it

Not sure a result against Plymouth is anything to get flattered about under foster they offered nothing at all defensive and with Leicester if it wasn't for there poor form and vardys strange and unusual missed chances we would of been dead a buried.  But it in our case we had a chance and finished it.Again today he swapped Conway and wells why do a straight swap change it make things happen unfortunately he didn't. Nothings changed for me still doesn't feel right that he's sitting and coaching our club.

Least he had plenty of time to play champ manager on the way home.

We should've had a penalty and had good chances ourselves

Arghhhhhhh, it’s not Nige v Liam.  It’s about Liam only, versus expectations at the point he’s taken over.

If all you’ve got is “he’s only a tinsy winsy bit worse than Nige”, and you thought Nige was crap, it’s hardly a strong argument is it?

I was responding directly to the comment that Liam is out of his depth. If his results are more or less the same as Pearson's, does that mean Pearson was out of his depth?

But many of the previous ones don’t. I wouldn’t judge on a couple of poor results, but equally I won’t judge on a couple of decent ones. So far on balance the poor have outweighed the good. My gut feeling is it was a bad appointment, but I’m willing to be persuaded. My biggest concern who is going to pick his successor.

Thing is, even if you include all of Manning's 26 league results, they're really not much worse than Pearson's last 26 games in charge. Maybe by a couple of percent, but that's it

I'm pleased for you that you are happy with the performances and the lies you've been told.

If as your name implies you were at Coventry in 77. So was I and we lived through some dark times in the years after that. The football was never so utterly boring in those years. The management and team were united as was the fanbase.

Personally over the past 6 months or so I have never felt so disconnected from the club.

It will be my perogative to continue to voice my concerns. If you don't like it you know where the ignore button is.

To be honest, it's quite rarely been exciting down Ashton Gate since we've been back in the Championship
