Probably due to the fact Manning took over when we were 11 points above the drop zone.

As others have said if every team started level I’d have no confidence in him at all.

When he took over, we were 10 points clear of the drop zone. Now we're...8 points clear

I accept what you think based on the past RR...but imo he will change tact if the losses continue and the fans become more vociferous.

He can go on a winning streak all he likes, if he does it playing Manningball, then I'd rather stick pins in my eyes.

He's boring, his football is boring.

To be fair, we haven't played consistently exciting football since we left League One

    Manning is worse than SO’D.

Yes the end of the relegation season was terrible and the losing run at the end was extremely depressing but you could at least accept that the ship was sinking way before that because the recruitment had been poor and defensively we were shocking. At least he had a plan that you could see might work. Plus over the summer his recruitment without a nest egg and playing some of the youth (Bryan in particular) was a significant part of what set us up for the successful Cotterill era.

Manning has taken a relatively good team and set of players and made them play much worse. That is unforgivable in a manager/coach.

Not for me. He managed just two points from our last nine games in the Championship, meaning we got relegated with a whimper. That was followed by six points from our first 12 games in League One.

I wasn’t referring to pulis time with us…..

Like him or loathe him he achieved far more in the game after his spell with us than this no mark ever will

    How do you know that?

I don't remember the fans ever taking such a strong instant dislike to a manager before, probably doesn't help that he has had to follow an extremely popular manager that was sacked unfairly.

    That's an understatement

I might need longer to explain it than I have this evening.

I will get back to you.

It starts with things being done very poorly by clueless people who do not achieve much, and then goes to things being done with integrity and honesty, the hard way, and with purpose despite all around him, and then goes back to the start again.

    Thats the short version.

    OK thanks

Manning is not capable of sorting what Nigel Pearson did.

Pearson changed a culture which is massively different to coaching a set of players. We have lost that.

By the way, the same set of players that ran through walls for Nigel Pearson are now bickering and drifting around like strangers. No amount of time “on the grass” working on “distances” and “patterns of play” will change that.

    How?

He's not up to the job, he certainly doesn't warrant a " war chest" .

I've seen us play under every manager since Fred Ford and he's comfortably the worst by far, on every metric..........tactics, style of play, in game management, communication, signings, connection with the fans, and his absolving himself of any responsibility whatsoever for the total shitshow we are witnessing.

    He needs to go.Now.

    What signings?

Different though,  of course he is under a different but significant pressure.

Just while we're at it, how would Lee Johnson and Ashton or Manning, Tinnion and Jon Lansdown with Rawcliffe and Marshall navigate the FFP shit while keeping us afloat on the pitch.

My answer. They wouldn't. Relegation, embargo(es) and Points Deduction IMO.

When you're in that position as a club it is a huge weight on all. Needs big competent characters like NP and Gould, we'd have sunk under this setup I'm sure.

Of course Pearson did plenty of good for this club, and deserves thanks for that

A game in which we stuffed ourselves last Autumn. It happens. We also gained 15 points from the first 10 and tbh injuries were already starting to occur even then.

Reading, as a club we were still navigating through choppy financial waters. We were wildly hamstrung, they otoh having failed FFP weee loaned by their friends at Chelsea were loaned Rahman and Casadei cut price or free.

And we had Scott and Semenyo

No it’s not being realistic . You’re basically saying . Oh we always lose at West Brom . They’re a team in the same league as us . Anyone can be beaten on any given day . It’s a lack of fortitude . We’ve had it for years. Naismith was brilliant after we lost at Leeds . He said (paraphrasing) We get back to 1-1 but there’s a lack of belief we can get anything . It’s like . Oh it’s ok we only lost 2-1 at Leeds . Pearson was changing that slowly. We got that soft underbelly back again . It angers me more than anything else about us . Weak willed , it’s ******* infuriating .

I'm saying that in my 40 years of supporting City, we've achieved zip - apart from the occasional bit of success in league one. I'd love for the club to be successful, but maybe it's time to lower our expectations

That’s the spirit. Small club mentality. We only slightly made a game of it after going two down . It’s easier to play then. West Brom were happy to let us have the ball . Pitiful performance . The football is awful

Perhaps we are a small club. In my 40 years of supporting City. I've seen little evidence to the contrary

OK mate, as a little taster then this is Janelle Monae on her TV debut on Letterman.

If you like rock and hip hop then you should have no problem appreciating this performance.

One for @Lew-T as well as plenty of soul and a bit of funk on show too.

    Plus her dancing!

I saw her at the Academy years ago and, like I say, one of the best all round artistic performances I've ever seen.

    Very entertaining performance
