I think that's incredibly harsh, one player doesn't win trophies alone. He was in a fairly average Spurs side for too long and probably should have moved sooner if winning trophies was his goal.

In terms of the title race it's Liverpool for me. Proper team and fan base (even if some are idiots) and play the most exciting football even against the big teams. The City v Liverpool and City v Arsenal games were worlds apart.

What do you mean by proper team? No team has been better than Man City over the past few years

If I was Liam I would be more worried that all my “detailed work on the opposition” wasn’t get the results it should be.

Pretty sure we've won two out of the last three...?

    I don't subscribe to that.

Leicester cut us open many times and it was only their poor finishing that saw us win.

We got lucky, fair play, but the chances Leicester had show there are still big problems.

Pah - there are always what ifs in football. I'm sure they even themselves out in due course. Two home wins out of two, and with two clean sheets. Well done Liam and the boys

Why is that pathetic? I think his point is take a hammering to speed up the removal of this hopeless manager and perhaps send a message to this board and technical director that they don't have a clue. I'm inclined to agree that's better for us in the long run than another few months of drift and a relegation dogfight next season.

That doesn't really make sense though. Win today and he's won four of his last nine, which is actually not such a disastrous record - and on a par with Pearson's last batch of games

I agree with your general point but I think it's easy to forget how ubiquitous Moby and Travis were at the time of their headline slots. Travis were all over pretty much every radio station from commercial to alternative and songs from Moby's Play appeared in loads of films, TV shows, adverts etc. I reckon pretty much everyone would have recognised Moby's songs - even if they'd not known who the artist was.

Your point about fragmented music is totally bang on. Now that we're in an era where no radio station, music TV show or publication reaches mass audiences in the way they used to, there simply aren't acts who are known to 70% of the population. Even the biggest acts - Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish or Adele for example - are incredibly easy to never hear songs by if you don't go out of your way to listen to them.

Yes - there's a certain irony in that. Back in the day, we only had radio and the TV with its four channels, and yet the music of the biggest stars was everywhere

England are good going forward when Southgate allows the handbrake to be realeased and ropey defensively. There were enough chances created last night to put Belgium to bed, they profited from two League 2 standard mistakes and created one clear chance when we committed bodies forward at the end. Sels had a very good game. Kane and Saka to come in too. However this England team always leaves the back door unlocked and that will continue to cost us at the business end of any tournament. We don’t have a Bellingham, Saka or Kane equivalent at the back. All decent, no more.

There is no comparison with Bristol City who sit in a low block and create the square root of **** all. It’s nonsense to compare the two as we are so bad.

Stones and Walker are both excellent when fit

You apart - none  of the students of the game on here can fathom what Manning is trying to achieve and his pre and post match interviews are repetitive and nothing more than aimless ramblings of hot air and waffle.

He’s boring with zero charisma and his football reflects exactly the same.

Since when were pressers that important anyway? They're generally a waste of time

    Just checked.

Under  NP- 15 goals, 14 games.

    Fleming- 1 goal, 1 game.

Manning- 28 goals, 23 games BUT 3 penalties and 1 own goal.

Weighted for that 24 from 23..about the same if not proportionally worse.

So penalties and own goals don't count now?

Manning is doing a lot behind closed doors as well....sadly none of it is positive and the only thing this whole failed experiment has succeeded in is creating division between fans and the club and between fans and other fans.

Supporting this club has never felt so difficult as it does now.  Usually you can find some things to be positive about. Youth coming through, players playing with pride even if they're not getting the rub of the green etc, but right now there's literally nothing.  Zero. Zilch. Nada.  And it's bloody soul destroying it really is.

I've given over 40 years of my life to supporting this club.  Others have given even more. But I have never in those 40+ years felt as despondent as I do now.

    Care to elaborate?

I suppose the worst time was at Newport when we thought it was the last ever match for City. That lasted a few days, I bought £90 of shares, and the draw against Fulham with the nursery boys put us back on line. Even being 92nd in Div Four the next season cannot match what I am seeing with this person who couldn't coach rats to steal from a bird table.

    Haha are you serious?

Give it up mate, this is getting desperate.

The only fair comparison is this season and Pearson had 1.29 ppg and Manning has had 1.13. Pearson achieved a higher ppg with lesser squad availability.

In Pearsons time here he achieved a total of 1.20 ppg under far more challenging circumstances.

You are aware that Conways contract is expiring in just over a year? So this summer will be our last chance to get maximum value.

To be honest, I'd rather have neither in charge

I think this is a point that often gets overlooked.

Manning has inherited a squad that is far better than any other manager has inherited here in decades and yet has turned it into a squad that is on par with the bad squad's we have had.

People often try to compare Manning with our past managers but it is an invalid comparison because those managers didn't have a squad like this.

I remember Manning once saying he gives players solutions. So if abc happens you have the option of doing xy and z and it's up to them to choose the correct option and that's why were seeing them second guessing themselves in my opinion.

He then contradicts himself when he tells players to do that but then to be brave and show some creativity when his principles do not allow that to happen.

He's not only messed up our season but he has destroyed our players. Our most valuable asset, Tommy Conway is now unrecognisable and that's probably cost us millions.

As has been pointed out on another thread, Manning's points total to date is almost identical to what Pearson achieved in his final run (the same number) of games.

And as for Conway, as the old saying goes, form is temporary, class is permanent. So i doubt his lack of goals in half a season will make much difference to his overall value.

If we hadn't beaten Southampton I'm not sure he'd still be here, it's the only thing people really have to praise him for - arguably Watford too? The cup games were good but was still 1 win in 4, and Forest were there for the taking at home. The first West Ham game was truly a brilliant performance especially after going behind so early. There was so much fight and desire from the lads in that game - which makes the recent performances seem like they must be instructed to play that way and hold back, it's not them not wanting to do it.

It still seems bizarre just how good that Southampton game was and how high we all felt walking away from that game. Genuinely thought he'd cracked it and the tide would turn.

Probably about the same, the difference is the fan's expectations and the comments from the club. Most of us would have been happy with another season of mid-table ahead of a push next year, even if it meant Nige left in the summer.

What makes you think that would've happened?
