I think he knew he couldn't carry on due to health issues. I recall in one of his last interviews he said he just needed a quick op and would be in and out of hospital in "48 hours". That was disingenuous, I believe, and he knew the situation was much more serious.

He spent a week in hospital having tests in Nov/Dec and we know that as of early Jan he still couldn't walk.

For a fact, he would have had to take more time off from the job to get treated. Whatever anyone says, that is a less than ideal situation for the club, and frankly not good for Nige.

He won't see it this way, but ultimately the club may have done him a favour so that he could fully concentrate on getting better.

Seems he's still not 100% fit so I've no idea how or why people think he'd have been able to see the full season out here.

While yes, it doesn’t excuse the lack of honesty and integrity.

I wonder why the Debenhams building isn’t being converted into flats/apartments? It’s a massive premises with enough space for literally dozens of them.

Demolishing the building seems unnecessary to me - but then I’m not and engineer or architect.

Commercial buildings aren’t generally built for residential-so I don’t think the conversation is that cost effective (my assumption on cost, no idea if valid)

That’s it for me, the unknown . I sometimes struggle to make night matches due to work . If I’m going to miss 5-10 games then is it worth it financially ? Probably not . Might be worth getting a membership & picking & choosing games instead. It’s a dilemma 😏

My aim is to go for every Saturday regardless of performance.  And as bizarrely that is the only way to sit in the South Stand unless your an existing ticket holder, that approach will do us.

If they’re near top around Xmas I’ll probably suck up the inconvenient kick off time and get a half season ticket, just incase.

Price rises of over 50% in some areas for Forest fans, with 17-21 price range scrapped as well, so young people in full time education have to pay adult prices. Their fan base are far from happy about it…

The dangers of promotion I guess!

Interesting, as the only club that used to have more youngsters as season ticket holders than us, were Forest ( I can’t remember the exact metric)

Can't help themselves the more they bombard you with texts emails etc the more you feel guilty for not renewing. That's what there hoping anyway.

That’s credible.  But, I’ve opted out of texts and still had one.  It could be a fairly costly marketing strategy for them

The next email has come out. Usual caveat, this will be scheduled communication and not sent because things aren’t going well but the text isn’t dripping with “join all the others who have renewed” and seems more acceptance of “we accept a lot aren’t renewing”

As we get nearer the limit, despite really being put off by the TV deal I thought I’d have a look at what’s available.

The price jump to escape the Family stand is eye watering considering there’s nothing available in the South Stand. And the price jump is even worse considering the impact on kick off times by the new tv deal

As Nigel Pearson once said, the women's team are also a first team, just like the men's...

Yes, but they’re not the men’s team are they.

Lets not forget how the owner ditched the original women’s team like a hot potatoe when it wasn’t commercially viable.

18.5k is a good number but we should be doing better than we have been but again that comes down to the owners and the entertainment on offer we have done well over the years to increase the total but the figure of 18.5k plus we really should striving for.

If there’s one thing I don’t think we can criticise SL for is growing the fan base. 18k season ticket holders won’t happen unless City are in the Prem.

Sure, that's an option too. My original statement would still apply.

Yea mate, sorry if I didn’t make it clear I was agreeing.

I’m hoping it’s a full sale.  The right people with the right motivations could be the push this club needs, I look at Wrexham as an extreme example of that.

While the club is seriously up for sale I don't think we're going to get many interviews that go into much depth. They won't want to contradict (deliberately or accidentally) in public something that a prospective buyer might hear privately. Certainly don't expect to hear from Steve or Marshall. We might get Jon doing a pretty glossy puff-piece about how great it was to see the U18s lose to Man City in the semi-final.

Probably our best hope is to keep hearing from Tinnion and hoping he just accidentally tells us all how much the budget is, who we're bidding on, what the menu is for the end of season dinner, and what Steve eats for breakfast.

Is it seriously up for sale though? The language used by Jon during the Pearson debacle suggested not to me.

Whatever you think of him Gary Johnson was identical in that regard. Was always they and them when we were poor.

Too be fair, he could get away with that for the first 3 or 4 seasons?

Different scenario I guess. He had the capital due to a) having a very good recent record and b) taking over from an utter fraud.

  12. Pre covid I generally found championship coverage a non event - Ex premier teams playing infront of thousands of empty seats, with a generally bland atmosphere.

It seems that with the post covid rise in crowds, it’s a better “product”.  I’m hoping the tv deal doesn’t alter that too much.
