  1. Manning shouldn’t be the debate in this thread. He was the one chosen to take the reins after Pearson, that’s not his doing. Whether you think we have progressed under him, if you are content/happy with the football on offer, that’s to be debated elsewhere.

What should be discussed on this thread is what was suspected all along, which was the total lack of respect and appreciation those running the show had for Nige. The man who was tasked with getting this club back on track following years of reckless ownership and blind faith in poor managers. He achieved this and more in my book. A togetherness between players and fans we hadn’t seen since Cotts. It was one of those rare situations where fans were on the managers side yet the board wanted rid.

At the end of the day, if it was results, personality clashes, Nige’s health… the reason becomes almost redundant. What is clear is the way in which SL, JL and BT made an absolute shitshow of things and why Nige shouldn’t even give them the time of day.

Year on year this is up and you know it , 10k this time last year, you have your view but it’s the truth well up at this stage

Fair enough, I thought someone said they were at 10k last year and 8k this. If they are up then fair enough.

If yourself and the seagull don’t renew that’s up to you , good luck to you , but what it does say is that this forum does not necessarily speak for the general fan base, it’s been awful on here for  months yet tickets have gone very well

How is any reduction in ticket sales “gone very well”? This is a football club. It’s not like buying tickets for something where there are multiple options that can impact sales. If numbers are down, it’s because people either aren’t happy or have been priced out of going. Neither is a good thing.

Long way to go of course. General sale might be booming and good luck to anyone wanting to invest. Just find that particular comment strange.

That was last week , it was 10k sold a year ago tomorrow so we will see soon as a lot will have done it late for various reasons , I do hope any drop is not greeted on here with glee , we are City fans at the end of the day and more people in the ground helps us whatever people’s agendas

No one will greet it with glee. In fact I would say the opposite. Many becoming that disillusioned with the club they feel they can’t renew.

Having said that, not lining SL pockets so he invest in anything but football isn’t the worse thing.

    Keep digging….

This is absolutely fine in my book. Clubs should at an absolute minimum be able to hear what was discussed. I’d even go as far as saying it should be played live at the ground when the conversation is taking place.

  6. If I hadn’t already decided not to renew, then the events in matches this weekend would have probably convinced me not to, regardless of my thoughts on this club currently.

The powers that be are doing everything they can to kill the game. VAR will be the death of it. Who even wants to be promoted to the premier league and have to deal with that each week? Coventry screwed over, Forest as well (regardless of their reaction in the aftermath). Even with VAR they can’t get it right, or they could but choose not to in favour of the big clubs.

Why can’t football be like it was 10, 15, 20 years ago?

As well as this, I have a mate who is a Lino in league one and two and they have been updated on some rule changes coming in next season. Take it from me, the game of football will get worse and worse.

  7. Was the penalty decision for handball more harsh than the offside decision to rule out the goal?

If you look at the Everton vs Forest game, Forest had a clearer handball not given even with VAR.

Still can’t believe they have not made the offside rule as simple as daylight between attacker and defender. Wenger has been pushing this for year I believe.

I'm not always fussed about the PL, but on this beautiful spring day in April I find myself watching Wolves v Arsenal to find 3 Wolves outfield players (Gomez, Traore and amazingly Doherty) wearing gloves!!!

Is Roy Keane in the studio?

Well, I have succumbed to renewal for City and Bears but I'm still unsure about City being able to do well and  manage to get into the top six after 46 games.

However, as I'm coming up to 81st birthday, still fit and able enough to get to the matches. I have done so because this life isn't a rehearsal, I am keeping all my interests going as long as I can.

So it's dog walking twice a day, model railway construction any spare time, City and Bears for entertainment(?) keeping the garden alive and still doing all the cooking as wife is useless at that. But I still want to see running, flowing rugby and a football team that will provide entertaining matches, win, lose or draw.

PS. Can we please arrange for Rebecca Welsh to referee all of our matches, the best and impartial, referee I have seen in many years.

Good on you. Do what makes you happy my man!

I felt the same a few seasons ago babber.

It was hard at first breaking the habit but can still follow at a distance.

I found switching to the rugby was much more enjoyable for a few reasons.

Cheaper season ticket. Less games a season so some weekends free to pursue other interests. More entertaining performances. No restriction on drinking alcohol in the ground. More family and female friendly. Not so 'tribal' so you can mix in the pubs and stands with other teams supporters without all that aggressive crap. Your watching the best players in the world plying their trade.

Won't knock anyone for sticking with it, I did for many years but don't see myself switching back anytime soon.

Now rugby is a game I just cant get into. Tried and tried, just get no enjoyment from it at all. Wish that wasn’t the case as it could be a nice swap otherwise.

Really sorry mate that I have more to life than this website! Well you’ve rubbished lots of people who have had a differing opinion on Manning and then stated people thinking he is “the second coming” when people are just happy with our recent form. If you don’t want to renew that’s your shout but when you post on here every day about how you don’t want to watch us then surely you can’t be shocked people think you’re looking for attention?

I don’t think I’ve rubbished anyone’s opinion. I might have said why I don’t agree with them. Tends to be the whole point of a forum. I would never just put… “you’re wrong” for example.

Will take on board your other points though.

Well obviously he did feel the need to, yes. Don’t see why that should be a problem, sharing thoughts and impressions about matches is what this forum is for.

There are some clowns on here mate, add very little value other than running their mouths on here when you don’t write something they like, whilst at the same time offering little in way of debate or discussion.

There are members on here that making trying to support the club as painful as the people running it.

Despite all the moaning about Manning I just had a quick look at the last 5 results for every team in the Championship and guess what we are top with 11 points, now tell me honestly if that was our previous manager's record over the last 5 games this forum would be dreaming of better times ahead, it's a results business and you can't say manning at last is not getting them.

I’m judging things on the 6 months Manning has been here, not the 5 end of season games that have no meaning to them.

just waiting for the day i get one of those, why cant people still interact on here ,its not as though they dont want to be a city supporter, more that the club are doing everything they can to turn you against it.

and as for enjoying a pasty at plymouth, i tried forest  green, they were quite nice, exeter next on the list so i might aswell try one at plymouth too,  first off tho i got better things to do with my time and money, rather than give it to the lansdowns

I’ve been to watch Brislington play a few times this season and I’ve enjoyed it more than being at the gate. I will be investing more time and money into local clubs next season.

    Cancel culture at its best

Somebody makes a post that you don't like. Rather than posting a counter opinion or just agreeing to disagree and ignore the post it is necessary to hound said poster out of the forum.

Surely this is against the purpose of a forum. A place where you exchange views. For me rather than trying to force a poster to leave the forum, people who cannot accept a view that is different from theirs should leave.

I’m glad we have the same view of a forum. It seems many believe that you can only sing praise and worship the club. No other opinions are allowed.

I'd love to have a player like Wilbraham now....forgot how integral a part he was to  us over that period.

I remember him taking pain killing jabs to be able to play....played for the shirt.

Absolutely! I’ve said in the past I do not think there has ever been a player where their signing has caused so much discontent yet they went on to become a hero for this club.

Thank god that meeting of chance took place when both Wilbs and Cotts were both on holiday!

Yes it would have. Stop looking for outrage.

If you say so. I thought it was strictly hands off between players and officials? This just all seemed very patronising.

  18. She done ok. Thought she gave some very soft decisions, mainly in our favour. One in particular where Tanner had the ball nicked off him down in our own corner in the first half which she called a very generous foul on.

What I did find strange was the incident where she fell after colliding with Conway (I think), stayed down for a bit probably a little embarrassed and then got up. All that is well and good. But then James checked on her and out his arm around her, and having a laugh at what happened she put her arm around James waist. Is that acceptable on both parts because she is female? Wouldn’t have happened like that if it was a male ref surely?

  19. With the season fizzling out as early as it did, it annoys me are even giving Twine game time. I know we would have paid a fee and wages but he has missed a majority of games since joining us anyway. Surely there is more value in giving our youngsters a glimpse of championship football at this stage? Minutes of football now could be vital to their development.
