Genuine question, can you highlight anywhere that someone is claiming anything like this?
Without going through tweets back to Wednesday, no

Unfortunately if you pick the occasional game rather than attend regularly, your chances of picking a “dog” are inordinately higher ! Were 12th . Have won 4 of the last 6 losing just once by a single goal , away to potential league champions . I’m not convinced by possession at all costs football either but I’ll take this run of results all day long over attacking “ charge of the Light Brigade “ football where we win one , lose one . I’m not convinced by him yet but I am convinced that he deserves a summer window , pre-season and until. Christmas to see what he can do . As for yourself , stay away …….. you’re clearly a jinx !!!!
I don’t pick the occasional game. I’ve been to every home game other than the last couple. But you might have a point about me being a jinx!

Without making this all about me, I left after 75 because a) I was bored out my brain and b) it was bloody painful to watch!

Again, you can’t say that about Wednesday apparently

This is nothing to do with the players.
It's the tactics that they are told to play. The "BACKWARDS AND SIDEWAYS" style of play is pathetic.
I don't like to see us lose but I want City to at least have a go at the other side. When our goalkeeper gets more passes than our attackers, it means that our tactics are negative and will never be the way to make progress and win matches. And don't forget that we were not playing against a Real Madrid, Man City or Liverpool. This was one of the teams that are destined for relegation.
So this match has confirmed that while Manning is still here, BCFC can stick their season ticket where a monkey stores his nuts. After early sixty years of season ticket, I've had enough.
You’re not allowed this opinion apparently, it makes it all about you.

I guess you weren’t at AG when City put 5 past Blackburn? Whilst BR were crap City took advantage and played some great stuff.
Today was entirely different. The Terries defended well and City huffed and puffed and just couldn’t break them down - it happens.
No I wasn’t, so can’t comment on the game myself. However, as I said, people around me said Wednesday wasn’t great performance wise. We took advantage of a poor performance but didn’t play Blackburn off the pitch as the score line suggested.
They were complimentary of the Leicester performance, but then everyone seems to be beating Leicester.

Not sure if you are a user of X/Twitter, but it was full of people after Wednesday saying Manning was the saviour, power phrasing of course. Couldn’t believe anyone had ever questioned him.

How often are you going to post saying this?
I didn’t want Pearson sacked & definitely don’t think Manning is the second coming, but he certainly deserves a summer to bring in a couple of his own players.
He can bring in any players he likes, it’s his brand on football I can’t get behind.
People around me said the Blackburn game wasn’t great, they just made mistakes that lead to goals.

After not having attended a game since Swansea for my own sanity, performances and results have picked up. Some on here and social media believing Manning is in fact the second coming. So against my best judgement, I decided to have another look myself.
Wow, that was dire! It confirmed everything we already knew. This new and improved Manningball was a flash in the pan. That my friends is the football you have to look forward to next season, which will come as no surprise to many.
Good luck all for next season. I shall look forward to a return to the gate in a year or two.

It’s been a funny season in this regard. Up to say January/February Knight is old have been there, but then he looked shattered and had reduced impact on games. Picking up now where he was earlier in the season.
Vyner has a few mentions but I can’t see past all his mistakes. Very much a liability at times.
Despite the doubt I have around Manning, he has got Mehmeti playing some of his best football since he joined us. Maybe not enough for a top 5 spot.
I would go for…
1. Dickie
2. Max
3. Pring
4. Knight
5. Conway

Damage has been done for me, a few meaningless end of season wins doesn’t change anything. You’ve seen the brand of football Manning wants to play from October until March. Playing the type of football from the last few games is easy to do with no pressure on.
And as repeated many times, Manning was the only issue. It was the ones at the very top that drove fans away.
Too much negativity, lies and poor football means I stand by my decision not to renew my season ticket.
In terms of Manning himself, the true test will be the first 10 games of next season. Pressure would soon be back on.

So are you saying ANY contact and a player goes down it Has to be a pen?
The great thing about football is fans having different opinions
Think we will agree to disagree one this one
If there is clear contact and they haven’t won the ball I am not sure how it can’t be a penalty/free kick. Surely that’s within the rules?

He was already half way through his dive when contact was made
Was he though? He was turning at pace. Contact was made, he has gone down. All pretty basic when deciding on a foul surely?

I don’t think it was a terrible decision. If your foot connects with an attacking players knee you are in trouble - however I do disagree with your comment.
The game should never have evolved for it to be accepted that any contact makes it okay for an attacker to go down. Something that has been exacerbated by VAR.
I don’t think the contact was enough to actually impede Silva, and he’s obviously dived, but in the VAR age it’s a foul.
But you’ve summed it up in your final sentence. You don’t “think” the contact was enough. How would you ever prove if it is or isn’t? The contact was clear and Silva went over, therefore it’s a penalty.

But VAR does need to consider that to be fair, because contact doesn’t equal foul - in the same way that the Brighton defender slightly touching the ball doesn’t mean good tackle
I think the ball was gone and the only contact made was by the Celtic player on the Rangers player. You will have winning the ball and contact after. It’s inevitable. That wasn’t the case here.

VAR goes to a new all time low
Rangers v Celtic
Shocking
I will keep saying it Corrupt as Duck
Am I the only one who didn’t think it was that bad a decision? You could clearly see the contact from the Celtic defender on Silva. You could argue all day if the contact was enough to send him over, but VAR aren’t here to discuss physics.
There was contact, Silva sent down. Therefore it’s a penalty.

I think James will sign a one year extension. Williams will probably want more than we are willing to offer contract length wise. Can see him going to Bolton if they are promoted. Bird essentially replaces King so we would still be one short in the middle, Naismith able to step in if needed/can stay fit. Need some creativity in this area as well.
Centre back needed depending on Atkinson.
Wide areas I don’t think will be priority with Mehmeti, Sykes and Bell in there.
That leaves at least one striker, probably two. Wells won’t have the legs for another full season and Conway’s contract situation will probably mean he isn’t around next season.
Back up keeper to Max (this is a compliment as a few months ago I was calling for a Max replace!).
I would say a minimum of six players to hold our own next season.

Fair enough if he was injured. I thought all injured players were released back to their club to assessment/treatment if they were going to play no part in the fixtures

Palmer has been sensational this season yet couldn’t get even a minute of action in the recent England friendlies. Unbelievable!

5 hours ago, Edgy Red said:But you're just hand picking some positive results/reasonable performances there Sir Geoff, which we can do for Manning too (Middlesbrough x 2, Hull, West Ham x 2, Leicester, Southampton).
What about Nige's home games this season against Preston, Birmingham and Coventry (I appreciate we won 1-0 but it was robbery and Cov battered us. In fact it was going to be shown on Crimewatch that night)
The football under Nige was largely uninspiring and he had the best part of 3 years to build a team. Aside from Scott, Semenyo and maybe Kalas, i don't really think he lost anyone else of note.
I have no idea how the Manning reign will pan out, but he deserves some time and a few of his own signings before we should properly judge him.
I appreciate my post goes against most fans views on here, so please don't get angry with me, its just my opinion CTID
I don’t think anyone would claim the football under Pearson was nonstop excitement, but to say it was uninspiring is completely wrong.
The togetherness of the players and fans, coming through a difficult couple of years following covid, the feeling we were building something. It was all very much inspiring and the reason there was so much discontent when he was wrongly fired.

Firstly, thought Bournemouth was a strange move for him but they have shown great quality this season. Them and Wolves are the two shock performers in the premier league for me this season.
On to Scott himself. Great to see him make his England U21 debut last week but in terms of the premier league, he does seem to be struggling to make an impact. No doubt early season injuries have played a part, but I thought his transition to the premier would be pretty smooth ability wise. However, fit he either seems to start on the bench or if he does start, gets pulled off relatively early. Again tonight he was take off at half time.
Hopefully he will finish this season well and kick on next season. Looking forward to seeing what our former star boy can do.
Wasn’t worth it, good luck for the future…
