  1. It's hard to say really - Ne-yo has a pretty much sold out UK arena tour, there is a logic to it. Problem is, arenas like the one in Leeds are what, 15k? This is a 30k day festival - with another relatively big name it might do well, but I'd be presuming that they were waiting to see how well ticket sales went before finalising the next round of names.
  2. Weird, mine definitely looked emptier than that! I take it back!
  3. Was at the same run of gigs at the Etihad, and you're quite right, the build up was amazing. Felt like before a football match, crammed in belting out a bit of Oasis and the like. I assume Public Enemy supporting had something to do with Ian Brown being a big fan. Have to say the new 2nd John Squire tune with LG is a belter.
  4. I'm not sure of that to be fair. In the Lansdown you have only 3 blocks still quite empty, and 3 more over in the Dolman - aside from that it's all VIP tickets and standing which is quite hard to judge just from the ticket map. Unless I'm seeing something a bit different - I think the sheer amount of VIP tickets makes it quite deceptive.
  5. Not to mention the 'I don't ever remember a game being postponed because of the weather' followed by 'I only pay attention to one NFL team'
  6. Yep agreed, I too remember him saying that, but I'm not sure there would ever be a financial benefit to filling in those corners due to the sheer amount of expense. On the Lansdown side you'd probably squeeze in the equivalent of about 3/4 of a single block of seats given the building that is already there, and on the Dolman side looking at an aerial view you'd have to slice off a decent chunk of the Atyeo Stand itself to get any seats in there, as the Atyeo is still a fair bit off-centre from where we moved the pitch.
  7. The two stages are next to each other btw, so shouldn’t impact capacity too much if at all. On the ticket purchase screen you can see the second stage is tiny in comparison to the main one.
  8. See I think it will sell out okay. A few of us are mocking it as it's not our style but this is a decent lineup for plenty of people, and nostalgia acts are doing really well at the moment. Ne-Yo already has an arena tour across the UK booked in March at 15k - 20k venues - there's no reason why 30k here isn't possible with likes of Craig David added on. It might not be our cup of tea (it certainly isn't mine!) but it could actually be a decent lineup in terms of generating revenue, in which case for Bristol Sport it would be a success.
  9. Looking back that 2008 plan was actually quite smart. Would cost a fortune in today's money though and we all know they like getting things done on the cheap, or for free.
  10. Wow. This crowd is basically gonna be waterfront Lloyds circa about 2010.
  11. Now that would change things a fair bit.
  12. I got dragged to see KoL relatively recently and they really surprised me, a sublime gig. That's a much better booking imo.
  13. It did appear sold out, but then presumably some transactions will have failed, or tickets dropped out of baskets, etc. For any event it's always worth trying for 20 - 25 mins after it appears sold out.
  14. Oh really? Interesting. Where have you seen that?
  15. I'm fairly certain Ne-Yo will be the headliner.
  16. Dot To Dot is one of the best things Bristol has, really great festival. Quite incredible really that the likes of Ed Sheeran, Fontaines DC, Lewis Capaldi, Dua Lipa, Wolf Alice etc have all played it before they were big. Basically a great predictor of the next big thing.
  17. Ne-Yo has an arena tour here in March to be fair, so he is still a big attraction purely for the nostalgia. Like I said, I just think we’re likely not quite the target market for this one.
  18. From what I've heard, most likely a disappointment for us! Especially considering some of the names mentioned so far. I’m assuming we're not quite the target market... I do hope I'm wrong though.
  19. Yeah I saw the same on BBC News.
  20. Few hundred grand . Granted he's nowhere near £15m but he's worth more than Matty ****ing Taylor.
  21. Urban Tandoor is great... not too sure about their singing though (They have tons of these videos, great social media presence).
