  1. To be honest mate we're 20 pages in and in all likelihood it is not going to be any of those listed names.
  2. John Eustace was odds on not that long ago. I expect on this market bookies know barely anything, I'd imagine it's pretty much mostly an automatic formula/algorithm to spread bets such to optimise the amount that they make regardless of who is appointed. All this shows is that a load of people have backed Lampard, not that the bookies really know.
  3. Someone at ITV Westcountry Tweeted about it, but it might just be because of the rumour, rather than having any evidence himself. If the ITK'ers on here don't think it's happening then I'd be inclined to go with that.
  4. Yeah given comments by people on here I'm defo not seeing this happening. Shame as he's one of the very few I'd sort of come around to with Nige gone.
  5. I mean, it's still just a rumour at this stage right.
  6. And he can bring his ****in dinner
  7. So we're not being told not Eustace, Rowett nor Williams. Interesting.
  8. Agreed. Would rather Williams tbh.
  9. 250k views (allegedly) on Twitter... I highly doubt it's that high but either way, I'd still be bricking it!
  10. I'm going to go against the grain on that one actually. Plenty of competent people, in fact some of the best, aren't the best at public speaking and are quite insular people. We've got plenty we can dig at the ownership for but I'm quite happy with JL attempting something he clearly wasn't completely comfortable doing. I just wish he had actually given us some more realistic and less tainted 'information', rather than dancing around the actual core point.
  11. I think he's top of my list right now by some distance, and that is so depressing. Aside of course from getting Nige back.
  12. It's also been engineered so that basically no one else can bid for 2034. With 2030 technically being across South America, Europe and Africa, and with 2026 being in North America, it means only a team from Asia or Oceania can get it.... Essentially Australia were their only 'competition'. How convenient. FIFA are a joke of an organisation.
  13. This is actually a really great post and you do make a very good point in that the expectation is clear. Our squad is good enough, we have the right players, the manager should be able to achieve a promotion push with essentially what we have. That's exciting if it was to come off, which it just won't. But as @Harry said, they've set that bar now. That's what we can demand of the ownership.
  14. It'd never happen but honestly that's my favourite end scenario here.
  15. I agree. It's very frustrating, Tinnion and Pearson together in the correct roles sounds like an extremely good setup. And we just threw it away.
  16. We're at 22,455 so far this year to be fair, so there's a higher extreme available to him. But that's still a 97% increase - very odd Tweet.
  17. Playing 'devil's advocate' is absolutely fair enough in that case. Not sure how accurate it is, but someone on SOTC did mention yesterday though that only one of our current injuries was caused through training - all the others are either illnesses or in-match, which does suggest a lot of bad luck, even if not wholly bad luck.
  18. Must admit it's never really crossed my mind before but thinking of getting involved myself. At times like this it's good to bring us all together.
  19. But that's the thing, is there another manager out there at our level who would have us higher than we are now with the same squad, same wage restrictions and the same injuries? I absolutely don't believe there is. If that's the case, the manager isn't the problem, the situation and the strategy is the problem.
  20. Oh 100% and I wasn't suggesting otherwise - if they didn't expect this level of backlash that's on them for misreading the signs, not for the signs not being there. In some bizarre way it would almost be better if they held their hands up, acknowledged they made a mistake and went back to NP. It would never happen in a million years and shouldn't happen for all sorts of reasons, but it would show a humility and self-awareness that has never really evidenced itself from them up to this point.
  21. Probably just anxiety. If I was making a video that was about to get (quite rightly) panned universally I'd probably be the same!
  22. It's hard to see past this isn't it. Jon does look a bit stressed out / broken. It's not an ideal response but equally I'm not sure they quite expected this level of backlash. They made a huge mistake here, and it's extremely difficult to think of any appointment that would be up to the level of what we had.
  23. I appreciate everyone has their opinion, and you do make some decent points in your post, but this entire paragraph is beyond harsh in my opinion. If indeed many performance indicators were in the red, it shows a complete lack of awareness or understanding by the board. For us to be just a few points off the play-offs while going through what you admit is our worst injury crisis, surely suggests that we would be there or thereabouts hitting targets were it not for some epic misfortune. Playing partnerships and the lack of are a further extension of that bad luck, not poor management. And the lack of a sufficient playing squad to cover those injuries (we know we need 2 or 3 more players) is a strategic decision by the owner, not the manager. Whether we've spent wisely or not is up for debate but I think generally his hit rate is pretty decent, and we have plenty more to come from the likes of Mehmeti. Spending wisely is also that much more difficult when your wage budget is being restricted. All things considered I think we're currently performing about as well as we could be in the circumstances, and it's pretty rare for fans to be so understanding in that regard. The fact that the board thought we should be performing higher under this scenario is just an utter madness.
