  1. It is a non starter, because the truth of the matter is that the majority of 'real' (people who would put their hand in their pocket to watch a football club, in all weathers and display loyalty to them when results aren't great) football fans in Bristol support City (67%) or Rovers (33%). The vast majority of those fans would rather watch Bristol City v Rotherham in the championship or Bristol Rovers v Accrington in League One than they would watch Bristol United v Manchester City in the Premiership. City are playing Birmingham on Saturday and I can honestly say if Real Madrid were kicking off at 3pm v Barcelona on Hanham Common I'd still be at Ashton on Saturday.
  2. The sound carries much better from that part of the Dolman than the corner they are presently in. This will be a winner, well done.
  3. Wembley have announced that they will scrap plans to install 20,000 extra seats in the event that the Gas are knocked out of the trophy tonight.
  4. Results are all important, never more so than in the modern, social media day. If City win 3-0 on Saturday, there will be no moans, no protests, Lansdown and Pearson will be flavour of the month again (well for a few days anyway). Likewise, if we are beaten on Saturday, it will be the end of the world. Thankfully, owners and boards sometimes (not always) see the bigger picture. Pearson is slowly building a team, whilst getting rid of players he doesn't want and reducing the wage bill. This is not an easy task and not something that can be achieved in a few months. As other posters have pointed out, Alan Dicks, arguably City's greatest manager, took years to assemble a team competitive enough to make the top flight. Patience is very hard in football, but that is what is required at the moment.
  5. 2 cans of Natch and a Balti pasty. Steve has rejected it out of hand, but Wael has contacted them to say that he is interested.
  6. Nothing to rest them for, go strong and let us try to get as far in the cup as we can.
  7. Last time the Gas were at Wembley...not counting those in the car park!
  8. Great offer, I wish City would do this. Away days can be so expensive but if the travel was free numbers would be boosted greatly.
  9. I'd rather stick with the Lansdowns personally. People that actually care about the club. Unless of course we could get taken over by wealthy foreigners like Rovers, with an open cheque book to fire them all the way to um mid table League One.
  10. His performance v Lincoln was nothing sort of shambolic, I desperately wanted the ground to swallow him up it was so bad. I agree he should have been in the centre, but nobody could have predicted quite how badly he would play. For Walsall to sign him, he must have played much better when turning out for the U23s. He is very, very young for a central defender and he will only get better. I hope this move works out for everyone. Good luck Joe ?
  11. I've only seen highlights of their games, but he always looks one of their best players. Hopefully this move will be good for him, County and us.
  12. Oh OK, good news then and apologies Mr Edwards...I never doubted you for a second ?
  13. Ross County: Two disciplined players will 'be back in group' to face Livingston - BBC Sport It is a shame to read he has fallen foul of the boss, as he appeared to be doing really well in the SPL.

    Vyner

I'm not trying to be clever after the event, because I didn't think Vyner was going to cut it as a defender in the Championship. However, a lot of seem to have forgotten that defenders have their 'peak years' later than midfielders and strikers. It is not unusual for defenders to play their best seasons between the ages of 28-32. By that rationale, Vyner can continue to improve and be a vital part of our back 3/4 for seasons to come. Well done Zak.
  15. Wiemann doesn't regularly score 20 goals per season, last season was an anomalous season. He'll hit double figures though and that is nothing to do with darts.
  16. They've even provided a photo that shows the away end is only operating at 70% capacity 2500.
  17. How much are flights to Oz? It may be cheaper to get to South London!
  18. I hope you can make it, especially as I'm predicting Millwall 1 City 2 COYR
  19. I don't know why we have to continually have these threads. These are the facts - * Every club in the country sells more tickets than physically attend the game. * When a club are doing really well, the number of non attenders falls as demand for tickets mean that friends or family snap up the tickets when people can't make it. Likewise, if the team is not doing as well, fewer people may attend. Despite this, fans have bought the tickets, so they've shown that support for the club. * Boxing day is a well attended day, City will have a crowd of 23K+ (sold) and at the very least 20K physically in the stadium. I believe that figure will be higher. * We have averaged higher gates than Bristol Rovers for the last 60 years, however you try to measure it, we are the best supported team in the South West of England without any argument. * With an average gate of 20,000 plus, we are the best supported team in Europe not to have seen their team play in the top division of their country for 42 years. COYR
  20. I'd say so, have you seen the league table??? For us we need to get the three points and get climbing the table. For them, they are on a run towards the play offs, plus it is is Boxing Day, which is usually one of the best supported days of the season.
  21. Anything is possible, but you just know that the beauty of the Championship is that City will probably spank WBA on boxing day and then the talk will disappear....for a while anyway.
  22. I'd be disappointed it we weren't close to 25,000 by kick off. I hope WBA get a bigger allocation than 2500 or that will reduce the gate to 23,000. They should have close to 4,000 tickets, they would shift them no problem.
  23. Very reactionary after a poor result (not just you but many others as well). £3m is peanuts for a modern striker who has just played in the World Cup. Semenyo has pace, power and is relatively new to the professional game. the lad is going to get better and better. If he was touted at £3m, half the Championship would put bids in never mind the likes of Palace. It does make me laugh though, if he scores a screamer v WBA, his value on here will be £50m again ?
