  1. Regarding the attendance, I'm surprised they are not shouting it from the roof tops. Bigger capacity and surely a sell out. They are always banging on about their amazing support, surely they didn't fail to get 11,500 in today. Especially when you consider we got double that amount.

I see they’ve installed the portaloo’s in the cow shed then, championship ready I heard

Gas moving with the times, always ahead of the game. Any wet weather or high winds, the sign falls off and the portaloo is then non binary!

What a bunch of roasters they are.

Dull club - 25K every home game, Premier League and Championship

Exciting club - 7-8K every home game, League 1, League 2 and 5th Division, 23 years below their nearest rivals, 24 years since Championship football, fake fanta, stale crisps, dog meat pasties (containing some strong mind bending drugs by the look of CornishPasty Gas's post up there)

At least Norwich's vanilla is fit for human consumption, comes from a reputable source and has been paid for..........

Big mistake to criticise Norwich in that way. Until they did that, every Norwich fan had Rovers as their second favourite team.

It is understandable that Andy Weimann would want to finish his playing career nearer to where his family lives.

I echo the comments about Andy being a great servant who had always given 100% and has been a leader and mentor for our younger players.

Too often someone leaving results in thanks being given but capped off with snide comments. None of that for Andy Weimann which shows how much he is respected..

Reading this forum he will be sorely missed. I hope that when he comes back that he is given a generous applause.

Thanks Andy and good luck for the future

I would be staggered if he didn't receive a wonderful welcome back to Ashton Gate in the future. He's always given 100% for the jersey, he has scored plenty of important goals for the club and been a help to younger players.

It feels like one of those win-win-win scenarios

For Andi - a last big signing on fee and joining a massive club at Championship level who should push for promotion.

For WBA - a man that gives 100% every game, knows the division and will weigh in with key goals during their run in

For BCFC - free up the wages of an older player that we wouldn't be resigning, a player that hasn't had much game time under Manning and allow for a new forward to come through the door.

  5. Huge credit must go to the West Ham board, West Ham supporters and of course the fantastic travelling support from the West Country. Whichever you look at it, for West ham to get 62500 for a third round cup match against a team a division below them is amazing. For City to take 9000 to a third round match that many must have expected us to lose against a team we have played several times in the past 20 years and a 2 hour + journey that is phenomenal. Well done City.

Bob Boyd also successful manager at Minehead and they finished second to Wimbledon the season they won promotion to the fourth division.

I believe Bob Boyd set up, financed and ran the successful Boco Boys team that played out of Hanham. They are now AEK-Boco and have girls, womens and Mens sections as well, playing at the revamped Greenbank Park playing fields in Hanham. He was a City fan up until his death.

  7. Incredibly sad news, my prayers to the family and his loved ones. Far too soon to approach the family now of course, but what about his son being mascot for a future home game. If the club won't do it, then I'm sure enough of us would be willing to contribute a fiver or tenner to cover the cost.

Port vale even though don’t have the numbers really despise Stoke and get right under stokes skin

very tough area is burslem = Hartcliffe + knowle west with a northern accent

Yes, I've been to Vale at least 5 times with City over the years and there has always been trouble. I also recall 20-30 Vale lads trying (unsuccessfully) to attack the Coopers Arms about 20 years back before a league game against them.

Completely agree, I'm sure Stoke and Forest feel just the same about their rivals

Interestingly, very different feelings about their 'rivals'. Forest and County have quite a friendly rivalry and nothing much more than jokey banter. Stoke and Vale can get very nasty. I wonder if it is anything to do with geography. Forest and County don't have geographical areas as such, with both grounds being so close. Whereas, Stoke are located in the Stoke area, south in Stoke on Trent, while Port Vale are in Burslem, a town in the North of Stoke on Trent.

As a kid, I can remember thinking of Stoke as a Midlands club and Vale as a North West club, not realising they were located less than 5 miles apart.
