    You should be worried.

It’s not only Manning that lacks in experience (didn’t play much at any level), his coaching team lack it too.

The comparison of the current setup compared to the likes of solid ex-pro’s like Jason Euell and Curtis Woodhouse who have seen and done it at this level is stark!

I take it you at least still have Andy King there?!?

You mean Curtis Fleming. I believe Curtis Woodhouse gave up pro football to be a pro boxer.

Of course it is possible but we have a number of the bottom third side a still to play at home.

Now the fact we are even having to think about it a bit is fairly disgraceful and massively self-inflicted but we likely have enough home games that are winnable for one.

You have more faith than me in our ability to win, at home or not. Our one win under Manning we scraped home after conceding 2 goals. Teams that ship goals left, right and centre lose games I'm afraid. Nigel realised that, but sadly for us he is gone.

  3. I get what you are saying, but you are p*ssing in the wind. The fan base is furious with Nige's unjust sacking and the poor results and dive towards the relegation spots that has happened since. A defeat on Saturday and the stadium will erupt that is for certain.

Biggest concern for me is that NP seemed to have tightened up the defence but now we are back to letting in soft goals. With a misfiring attack that is a recipe for a slide down the table.

You are spot on, Nige got us to the stage where only Leicester had a tighter defence, now we need to score 3 goals to win a game. Anyone who thinks relegation is not a possibility is deluded.

They just missed out on the play offs last season on goal difference, finishing in 7th place with 69 points.

Blackburn Rovers have lost three and won two of their last five games and have two points more than us.

    Ground guide: https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/championship/ewood-park-blackburn-rovers.html

We recorded a fine win at their place last season: https://youtu.be/GDmlVl3LHto

They signed Niall Ennis on a free transfer after he rejected a new contract at Plymouth Argyle. The 24-year-old forward agreed a four-year deal at Ewood Park with the option of a further year. Also signed Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Sondre Tronstad on a three-year deal. The 27-year-old Norway international joined Rovers on a free transfer on 1 July.

Also signed Iceland international forward Arnor Sigurdsson on a one-year deal from Russian top flight club CSKA Moscow, https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65982812

Their head coach is Jon Dahl Tomasson. When he played he was a forward and  his most notable run of football came in his first stint at Feyenoord, with whom he won the 2002 UEFA Cup, and Italian club AC Milan, with whom he won the UEFA Champions League in 2003 and reached the final in 2005. He also played top-flight football in England, Germany and Spain. He is the joint all-time top goalscorer for the Denmark national team with 52 goals in 112 games and was also honoured with the Danish Player of the Year award in both 2002 and 2004. He played at the UEFA European Championship in 2000 and 2004 and the FIFA World Cup in 2002 and 2010.

    Blackburn banter

    • Their distinctive blue and white quartered shirts are not a result of the town’s famous cotton checks but a result of the club was formed by a group of public schoolboys in 1875.
    • The Queen Victoria statue on the Boulevard erected in 1905 was originally planned for Corporation Park. James Hargreaves, founder of a prominent Blackburn wholesale tobacconists and confectioners, raised the cash for the statue commemorating Britain’s longest reigning monarch by public subscription after her death in 1901.
    • Blackburn became the first town to undertake the mass finger-printing of people following the murder of June Anne Devaney in May 1948. She was a three-year-old patient at Queens Park Hospital when she was abducted from her cot and murdered in its grounds, now part of the Royal Blackburn Hospital site, on 15 May 1948. Fingerprints on a bottle underneath her cot led the police to fingerprint every male over the age of 16 who was present in Blackburn on 14 and 15 May 1948. After taking over 46,500 sets of fingerprints, a match was made with Peter Griffiths, a 22-year-old ex-serviceman. Griffiths admitted his guilt and his trial ascertained if he was sane or not. After deliberating for 23 minutes, the jury found him sane and he was hanged at Liverpool Prison on Friday 19 November 1948. After his conviction, the police destroyed all fingerprints they had taken.

Exactly, remind them you are not American and you'll be going to the football. You'll be there for their birthdays, Xmas and Easter but they can get lost if they think you'll be doing baby showers, Halloween or Thanksgiving...and no you don't care if the Broncos or the Cowboys win the Super Bowl.

  7. Yes, three points for Watkins v Aberdeen and then a cameo in the victory against Champions Celtic. Derek McInnes has now beaten Rangers and Celtic twice this season. That is Kilmarnock's first time beating Celtic twice in a season since they won the league in the early 1960s. Well done that man.

That would be great, not much dearer than a pint in London.

If it is £10 a ticket we could take 10,000+. The sort of travelling army that usually only the Gas can muster (although strangely they never 'travel' in those numbers to North Bristol!

I don't think the change of coach is the reason for our inconsistent form, we've struggled to score goals since Nhaki got injured, once he's back things should get better

I'm more concerned about the goals we are shipping. Under Nigel we didn't score lots but we had a mean defence, now we seem very open.

Not especially worried about the drop personally. NP left us in a solid place.

Injuries will ease up too, but the sad thing is it shouldn't really be a discussion- not that we are some wonder side who are too good to consider relegation but more that a low risk position with some room for growth if all fit etc was inherited.

Yes, I think you are right. But it is a very congested Championship and we have only taken a point a game under Manning against teams like QPR and Norwich who were both in dreadful form going into the matches. I just don't want us stuck in the bottom 6 looking nervously over our shoulder.

  11. Since Nigel has been removed we have only won one game and we have started shipping goals. In the game we won, we still conceded twice. With an average of one point per game under Manning, with the bottom three now seemingly improving, how worried should we be about relegation? I'm not looking over my shoulder yet, but I have to admit I am very concerned about how the defence has crumbled since big Nige was sacked.

This must be why it took so long to make an appointment.
They’d agreed terms with Taylor weeks ago but he had to go through an intense programme of indoctrination and a crash course of ‘gas logic’.
It’s the only explanation as the bloke was always a very reasonable guy previously.

Only club in Bristol to regularly have 2000 fans locked out of away games and to take 55,000 to Wembley despite the official gate for both clubs being only 52,000

  13. Not condoning any of the bad behaviour last night, some of it was very poor and cringeworthy. However, it is all a million miles away from the 1980s. I remember watching a match at Bolton in about 1988 where I was sat in the stand, and below me on the terrace was a mini riot involving about 100 City fans and 100 Bolton fans. You also had monkey chants at matches and bananas thrown, chants of 'get yer t*ts out for the lads' if anyone female aged 14-60 walked anywhere and had breasts larger than a B cup, coins, bricks, cups of P*ss etc thrown, chairs ripped out and thrown, fires lit on terraces etc.

Today's match experience is so different and so much more sanitised. That said, I'll say again, some horrible behaviour still at times and the chanting at a 12 year old is out of order however much of a bell end his dad is.

We’ve got to start somewhere right? He is changing the way we play. It’s going to take time to click. I’d much rather keep the ball than hit a hopeful ball up to Conway wishing for the best.

Add in Boro are a decent team, that we actually gifted them their goals I feel like there are things to be positive about.

    Strange place OTIB atm.

It is about being realistic not being negative. We were moving in the right direction under Nige and now that has all been ripped up. Today we were really poor for large spells of the game. We have won and I am delighted, but we'll have to be much, much better on Wednesday. I will be there cheering the boys on and I really hope I'm eating a large dish of humble pie at the end of the season, but I have concerns for our short term progress.

  15. I can see him doing a Warnock and managing into his 70s. He has loads to offer and if he gets fit there will be a lot of clubs after him. I don't think he'll want his career to end with a sacking at City, I think there is more to come in the Nigel story.
