Well I guess that’s my point.. I know with a couple of our earlier signings (Knight / Roberts) both Nige and Tinnion were courting the signings / checking their credentials and importantly their personality and suitability for the changing room… Don’t want anymore Tomlins or Bakinsons whatever the data says..
But just wondering whether we are now reverting to a previous owner backed business model of signing players that are (rightly or wrongly) perceived to be a ‘safe’ bet for a future return on investment…There is zero chance that TGH was signed unless Pearson was keen to bring him to the club. I fully expect him to be involved on Friday night, if not starting then from the bench.

Good to see the Baggies fans rate him - Taylor Gardner-Hickman (westbrom.com)

After far too many seasons of watching City in the third tier where the majority of clubs cannot even muster 1000 travelling fans, I love it in the Championship where over half the clubs are capable of filling the away end. We'd be nuts not to take the money generated by 3500 away fans. As regards any advantage, the noisy away following should inspire us to sing louder. It will be another 20,000 + crowd v WBA, let us roar on the reds.

A very impressive goalscoring record, in a Bristol City team that made a FA Cup final and were runners up in the top tier. It is interesting that he is referred to as a Bristol City fans' favourite as I cannot recall much being said/written about him. He had three brothers who all played league football north and/or south of the border. I have read that he has close relatives, still living in the Dundee area. It would be a nice touch to get them down to a home match (maybe in January close to his birthday) and mark his contribution to our rich history.
Maybe some posters on here, may recall Grandfathers waxing lyrical about his exploits?

Yes, did exactly the same, always could in that era. Is it me or do all the players nowadays look the same, similar haircuts etc. (BTW, I'm NOT being racist).
It is tricky to tell Rob Dickie and Nakhi Wells apart

We have not in my time seen a growth surge like that, both in percentage or in absolute terms..13k in Year 1, a further 6k in Year 2.
When did we last average 25k? I'm guessing the top flight days.
When we were last in the top flight, attendances were very low nationally when compared with today. I wouldn't mind guessing that 80%+ of clubs get higher average attendances now than they did in 76-80., Despite the fact that many of the clubs would have had higher capacities back in the standing days. I am convinced that IF City were to be promoted this season (allow me to dream a second), we would sell the 23,000 home tickets for every Premier League game next season without any problem.

The late Trevor Francis would be playing in that game I guess? As would the late Gerry Gow

Terrible result for Johnson and Hibs, however, you'd fancy them to turn it around at Easter Road next week.
-
2-1 final score. Hibs should turn it around at Easter Road but that is still a very poor result.
-
Of course Hibs have the second half and second leg to do something about it, but that is a shocking score so far. I hope for Johnson's sake they can turn it around.

On the plus side my sons, daughter and nephews got to meet all the players, get autographs and photos and we're buzzing. There were huge numbers there and many of them decked out in City kit.
On the downside, it was huge queues and a rugby style scrum at times. After being moved with my disabled mum by one steward, another tried to suggest that only one of our party could see the players with her. I think my snarl quickly changed the steward's mind or I could have had a football banning order before the season had started

I've logged on and I have all of Kelly Brook's contact details! I've just e mailed the club to thank them

Why don't they just put seats in the car park, there will be thousands locked out anyway.

I like to see British and Irish teams get as far as possible

Most one side derby in English football? It has to be, Forest v County and Stoke v Vale might challenge it I guess.

I know I'm being greedy but I'd love Kalas to sign as well. That would be the cherry on the top of what is looking a very decent squad in my opinion

In addition, Man City should get rid of Pep, he's yesterday's man.

How sad, RIP Chris love and prayers to all his family and friends.

It is important to stay grounded and not get carried away, it is a very tough league. However, I have a sneaky feeling we'll be promoted by January!

Thomas is as dull as dish-water, ex Blue Peter, says it all. Colin Murray would be my choice
I have a soft spot for Thomas, went through an awful lot with the untimely death of his wife in 2017. His Christian faith appears to have helped him rebuild his life, he was remarried in 2021 and now has a daughter. I think he would grow into the role if he got it. Barker is very knowledgeable about lower league and non league football especially. I would expect her to also do a decent job given time.

That is not true. For many different reasons there are different levels of commitment, from the City fan who goes to every single game home and away in every competition, to the fans that goes once a season, but still would say they are a City supporter. When the team is winning every week, or as the team goes higher in the league then fans shift their level of commitment e.g. more of the once a season brigade will go 4 or 5 times a season. Therefore, if City make the Prem and have a capacity of 23,000 home tickets, 99% of those fans will be 'City supporters' (I'm not doubting the odd ticket will go to a tourist or away fan).
