  1. I know we're clearly not going to make the playoffs, but to get to 37 games and not be out of the picture mathematically represents a much better season than probably any of us expected.
  2. How is that fair enough? If it was you in the dock for the same thing do you think the judge would delay the case for you because you were in the middle of a project? Not a chance. Him being a(n alleged) football manager shouldn't factor into the thinking in any way shape or form.
  3. Game's gone soft....
  4. The answer is doors, but it sparks a hell of a debate! Polo's and doughnuts do not count as wheels though! A wheel is something that is intended to be a wheel! Those other things are just round! BUT! Where does a cog in a machine fit in.....? It's purpose is to rotate..... Graaaaaaarghhhhh!!!! Think i might be joining you Pongo!
  5. You are either vehemently anti-Bristol Sport or have just outed yourself as a Sag in disguise. 15 players who, because there was no fee exchanged between Rovers and the club they were at previously, would have negotiated a higher signing on fee and wages. Rovers certainly weren't holding out there caps saying "please sir, can I have some more?"
  6. Yeah, but that's like saying that United are the biggest club in China! It's presumably based on location of club and not fanbase...I say presumably because the resolution on the picture makes it look like I'm watching it on Betamax with dodgy tracking!
  7. There's a reason for that....can you guess what it is....? Maybe I can help point you in the right direction. In my post (quoted below), the word "thread" is a hyperlink to the thread that you created. In that thread you also seemed to suggest that racial discrimination had only been going on for 2 years and only in America! I realise that's not what you meant, but it did highlight your apparent lack of understanding of what the gesture is actually about and why it has transcended borders.
  8. I agree with this sort of viewpoint really. Whilst I want us to be successful, I don't get any more or less joy out of beating Middlesboro than I do beating Northampton. Obviously in theory the higher up the ladder you go the matches should be more entertaining because of a higher technical skills level, but that doesn't always scan as we well know. I think more people than actually realise also hold this view though. I'm sure if someone offered us Championship next season with a guaranteed repeat of last season under Holden or relegation with a guaranteed repeat of 2015 that many people would take the latter. Millions of the buggers wanted to back them but all were locked out of their accounts......
  9. What do you base this on? Genuine question as I don't think I could name one player in their squad....not sure if Little and Large (Mark and Brett) are still there? I know so very little about the "quality" in their squad that I honestly couldn't say where they should be. What I would say though is that I think they're in with a massive chance of going up. They're hitting the play-off picture with momentum and we know all too well from 2008 what effect that can have. Hull were in a similar situation to them at Christmas. I'd have to grudgingly admit that if they win the play-offs they're probably the team that deserve it for the turnaround. I only hope that they've peaked too early and begin to drop off, but it's not looking that way at the moment.
  10. For pity's sake, you made yourself look a big enough tit on your thread in August where you made this same claim. That and some of the other utter tripe you posted in the thread. Give it up.
  11. And therein lies the problem.... What makes you think he even reads the forum?
  12. Another company that...erm...went down was in Greece... Voukefala in 2012 were sponsored by their local brothel!!
  13. It's worth anyone with an account to place their entire bankroll on a longshot for next year. Any unsettled bets come the end of the season will see the stake refunded, but any that ultimately win will still see the winnings paid out by way of a manual payment. Could essentially be a nice free bet!
  14. In fact, West Ham have double form for this.....clickety click part 2 in 2008, 7 years before their last one. With their current sponsors being Betway, they will be lost at the end of the season too due to the gambling rules...7 years after the last one. Whoever thinks about sponsoring the Hammers in 2029 need to be reaaaaaaaally wary!
  15. West Ham as recently as 2015. clickety click Luton ended their shirt sponsorship for this season in January due to JB Development not fulfilling contractual obligations. Presumably this is finance related.
  16. I can't imagine it would be the first. So many companies went bust in the global crash in 2008.
  17. Completely agree. Would've been a great signing of we'd pulled it off. Not sure if we tried to or not, mind.
  18. I said to someone last night that Tins is possibly our most important signing of the last decade.
  19. I was telling my lad on the way out that I'm not disappointed by that tonight. In my opinion we're safe. And we're not going up, obviously. Meaning that performance is far more important than the result right now. And that performance left me proud to be a fan of this club. I couldn't pick out a single bad performance from anyone wearing red tonight. Absolutely outstanding across the pitch. The energy, enthusiasm, intelligence and confidence of our young players leaves me very optimistic about next season. In a perverse way, the mistakes are a good thing. Gives them something to learn from and should allow them to grow their confidence without cockiness. The next transfer window is so important, but not so much who we buy, but who we keep. The experiences gained from this season will stand us in good stead for next. What an advertisement these kids are for our club, our academy and the pathway for youngsters. One very proud City fan tonight.
  20. I don't think VAR could have interfered. I think it's straight reds only. As it was two bookings VAR don't get involved is my understanding. Notwithstanding that, it was absolutely the correct call to make and Oliver should be applauded for making the decision that other refs would have bottled.
  21. Yep... Luckily it wasn't printed on a humongous wall for all to see.... Oh.... Wait
  22. Only at City could we get facts about our own club wrong.... And on a mural reminding everyone that we shouldn't forget that period of our history. obviously I should pay more attention as I forgot our promotion season of 1985...!?
  23. I've no idea what you're talking about. You told me just before Christmas that Scott would never make a footballer as long as he had a hole in his arse.... and followed that by getting all excited to learn that Neil Kilkenny is still playing and may be tempted away from Western Union to return home......! ? I was having a convo with a Reading fan tonight. They're absolutely spitting fire at the manager for saying that "Apart from the four goals, we played well" after their hammering by QPR today. I told him that I can understand what the managers saying....unless they really were shit. We shipped 6 at Fulham and we were all praising the overall performance. A mad 20 minutes of defensive capitulation in the first half, (which could've been different if the pen had been given for the foul on Dasilva at 3-2 instead of them going straight up the other end to make it 4-2) was bookended by a really good, if wasteful, performances where we really took the game to the best team in the league. Whether it's a measure of how bad we've been for the last few years, that we're getting all giddy about playing exciting football for once, or whether we're genuinely just recognising the potential for this to be the start of something very special remains to be seen. But I can't see many fans around the country being so happy with what they're seeing after the last two results. It really does feel like it's all beginning to come together. It's just the small matter of getting to the root of the defensive problem. Sort that out and a play-off push is no longer the stuff of fairy tales, but a genuine possibility.
