Quite a tough decision for Conway to make really, in reality he would have a very low chance of ever representing England but to commit to an alternative nation at such a young age is quite a commitment. I suspect he was quite happy to play u21 football but if he was to play in the Nations League he would be "Scottish" for life which complicates it slightly. I agree in reality he is English and would probably value 1 or 2 England caps far more than 50 Scotland ones

If the Leicester Job becomes available

Still quite close with the owners though I believe, his name will at the very least be discussed by their board -
That was my first instinct but in fairness that U21 squad has some decent players in there too i.e. Gibbs-WHite, Garner so its probably better he stays where he is and starts most games.

He will do as he's younger and his contract length is greater. If Antoines contract was longer then it would be pretty close due to his goals and assists record over the last 12 months or so. As for Scott though i genuinely dont think ive ever seen a player like him playing for us, his ability on the ball when dribbling is unbelievable. There was a moment when he went down the left last night and rolled his studs over the ball before whipping a cross in with his weaker foot that was like watching a top level PL winger let alone a young central midfield in his 2nd season at this level, that along with his passing and tackling abilities he really is a joy to watch. Surely we are looking at £30 -35m when he does move?

Semantics? It was about as well as you can play in a losing effort and gives real optimism for the season. -

You make a good point but to be honest the fact it was a competitive game against a top opponent where we looked a threat throughout is such an improvement on the last couple of years that fans are quite rightly praising the performance. If we can tighten up at the back and cut the sloppy errors out we are a very good side. -

Burnell was in there to do Dohertys running in fairness, I always liked Simon Clist who was around at the same time but never really got a look in. -
Gets booked a lot doesn't he!

The novelty has already worn off on this, watched a few last year out of intrigue but not seen any of this years version. From what I've read most of the big names aren't really turning up either?
-
You would hope as part of whatever contract offer we've made him that we are offering to backpay him his true value for the last 18 months
-
Couldn't agreement when he broke into the side inching everyone assume he would play across the front line as a 10 or a winger but he is an all action central midfield player no doubt about it. My prediction is Spurs take him in January if he carries on performing but it will be for big money given his age and contract length, what a stroke of genius that was too getting him locked down for 4 years!

Do we have the best attack in the league?
Dolman_Stand replied to AshtonRobin21's topic in Football Chat
Being joint top scorers would suggest we are pretty close -
I'd go for this if Weimann isn't fit for Saturday, we would be a bit more solid in the middle at least and a draw wouldn't be a bad result.
-
Hope Weimann is back for Saturday, I find Scott gets a bit lost in the No.10 role and is far more influential at Centre-Mid
-
Bentley Wilson Vyner Klose Pring Dasilva King Massengo Scott Martin Wells Need to make sure Naismith, Williams, Weimann, Atkinson and Conway are fresh for Saturday and next Wednesday.
-
Weimann, Conway and Semenyo would be our best front three
-
Think the QPR game at home last year was his tipping point
-
Atkinson for me but plenty of contenders
-
I'd rather sky just publish a list if which midweek games they are going to "red button" at the start of the season as it always seems to be quite late notice and Inconsistent.
-
Is the Luton game on the red button this week?

Generational though isn't it, already started seeing Man City shirts around in Bristol which is mental
