As I recall Jon subsequently told the Senior Reds that finishing 10th would be success. Top half certainly but I'm not sure many would regard that as top end.
Yes he did which is not top end!
Bit rich coming from the bloke who sacked Nige, a few matches after being 9th and in the middle of injury crisis!
Didn't like being put on the spot either
Don't think he's anywhere near strong enough. Who is there in the hierarchy who will go into battle for the club?
Is it a coincidence that for the first time ever, suddenly we are buying players and loaning them back...

Shouldn't it be Roberts or a fit Atkinson?

On Nigel Pearson, I'm with you. But Danny Wilson? nah - he had a ridiculous squad and couldnt get us promoted. Cant blame tins for that
Maybe not but Tinnion took that squad (who finished 3rd 2 years running) and came 7th..
Then brought in "the magnificent seven", lost 7-1 at Swansea and got the sack!
This same person is now the head of recruitment ......
Sorry but BT nor JL would get another job in a similar position at any other EFL club, well League 2 perhaps eh?

I think this is a fair point.
I wasn't much of a fan of Pearson post sorting out the terrible situation he was in when joining where he did fantastic to steady the ship and begin rebuilding. I found his interviews a bit boring and there was just something about the way he spoke to people I wasn't keen on. Manning as a different interview technique but is equally as boring!
I think Pearson should have been given more time and support and in terms of the football being played, we've gone from a counter attack at pace team to a probe the opposition until there is space team. Personally I prefer the second style of football.
Ultimately the change from Pearson to Manning hasn't changed results and we've had a sort of change in playing style.
If however, SL, JL, BT, etc didn't get on with Pearson for whatever reason, surely they would have been less inclined to financially support him with players, etc whereas if they like & support Manning they will give him what he wants/needs ala LJ? This last bit isn't in anything in relation to what you said @Selred just my lunchtime ramblings!
Condensed version....
They wanted a YES man....

Amazing that Pearson wasn’t told that he was sacked for results and he wasnt told about the fear the players were being de-conditioned. Shows what slime balls we have running this club
Also goes to show they also must have realised it was complete bollocks!
Thought us fans would suck it up...

As would I, but as a bit of devils advocate here if he wasn’t one of our own would we be so bullish? The fact is that if you take out the penalties Tommys scoring record this season has been pretty poor (debate/discuss the reasons why) and there is an argument he’s regressed. I don’t think a Scotland U21 cap adds any real value so if we were looking at a player who say, played for Stoke and had Tommys record this season pre penalties would it be a deal many of us would be that keen on?
(FWIW I do think he’ll have suitors, I do think he’ll go but in view of the above I’m not sure we’re getting top dollar, particularly at this contract stage)
True, but never forget his defensive work, blocking etc has improved immeasurably.....
I mean that's his main job right?

To fully evaluate what any player brings they need to have a run of at least 10 full games. After that we’d have an idea and able to form an assessment - Twine has been injured, hardly trained and therefore not fully match fit and played half a dozen games - in all of those he didn’t play the full game and yet you feel qualified to pass judgement on a player you’ve hardly seen………….
Anyway it’s irrelevant. He won’t be at City next season.
Unbelievable! You point out all the reasons why we shouldn't buy him... and then criticise me for coming to my conclusion BASED on all your reasons stated!
I believe there must be better.

Twine has hardly played - 6 games apparently. Some of those would have been away so those, like me who only watch City at AG these days have seen him around three times and with him not being fully match sharpe. Its way early to start drawing conclusions about what he offers.
Anyway I doubt that he’ll be at City next season.
Way to early?
We only have a handful of games left and I can't see him suddenly improving that much in that time.
We only have what we see with our own eyes and IMHO.... it's a no from me.
So, with your backside fixed firmly on the fence.... which side would you jump? Keep or no?
If being honest and with bugger all to play for, I'd much prefer to see some academy prospects get some game time.

This post is similar to the stew I just cooked. I haven’t cooked it for a while because I was bored of it, I cooked it anyway and it was crap. I won’t be cooking it again. Obviously for me it’s interesting and annoying - for everyone else a complete waste of time.

Huge respect to Pat Mountain for sticking by him and willing to give him chance when Bentley left.
@Davefevs any chance of a chart to compare other keepers in the league please?

We haven't even come close as a club to the togetherness and the fan connection that we had in 14/15. It was the us v the world siege mentality that Cotts instilled in the club that i loved at the time. We so desperately need that again IMO, that is when this football club is at it's best.
Completely agree with this and in my opinion we were getting there under Nige until the chuckle brothers enjoyed a self harming session for the club and many supporters.
All their protestations have turned to dust, and they should be ashamed of their actions.

Yes, funny how there were ZERO additions following the sale of Scott!
A completely unnecessary and self harming decision by JL and led to Phil Alexander leaving the club.
Ask yourself....
Why did we not get Twine in the summer?
Where would we now be in the league if we had?
Having instead gone to Hull, how much MORE did it cost to get Burnley to recall him and then loan him to us?
It just stinks!
