This for me wouldn't be a one fingered salute, that is just icing, the clue for me is probably Bristol 'sport'. Unlike our pikey neighbours SL could secure the said funding from investors and I would suspect enough investors would be interested in a venture such as this especially with the tie up to an up and coming university.

Nah even better to come up with something with UWE, athletics stadium (which is UWE originally wanted) with basketball facilities. Jim Bowen can open it (if he's still alive) and say "hey gasheads look at what you could have won".

Yes he ran his socks off, but was guilty of some incredibly casual misplaced passes especially in the first half putting us in danger, he switched off in the very first minute of the 2nd half and it nearly cost us a goal, twice he fired a ball into a defender on the edge of the box and whilst was jumping up and down appealing for handball the player took the ball past him setting up counter attacks and once for some bizarre reason he ran from the halfway line trying to chase down a total lost cause, resulting in a quick ball over the top and another breakaway with a missing midfielder which Brownhill and Patterson failed to spot. As good as he was last week and he was excellent, today this was a BCFC performance akin to far too many of last season and Pack for me was the epitome of that performance. Pisano and Bryan looked good, Smith was excellent possibly man of the match.

Back to last season for me today, a game we controlled and should have won against a piss poor team, missed chances and gradually we allowed them to bully themselves back into the game. The only time we looked in danger was from our own making, over complicating, sloppy/casual midfield passes and shitty defending for both goals. Reid could and should have scored a hatrick and Diedhiou a couple with more composure. Brownhill was poor all game and rightly substituted, Patterson was ok going forward but a total liability defensively, Pack was below average all game, Smith was our best midfielder today. I have to say it again O’Dowda is not championship ready. Free kicks and crossing abysmal once more. Early days I know but worryingly shades of last season all over this performance today for me.

What rivalry?. That last league game between us was over 16 years ago. Rovers have won 1 league game and 1 FL trophy game in the past 21 years. What rivalry?.

I sold him that. One born every minute. Meanwhile several thousand gas fans buy more vaseline in readiness.
