I was under the impression that the land was gifted to UWE by HP for the betterment of the university and couldn't be sold ?

If so, the freehold will always be with UWE.

Assuming that is the case, raising money for a stadium that is worthless without the land it sits on would be nigh on impossible - who would invest in something that is only valuable to Bristol Rovers ?

Maybe what I read was bullshite or out of date but if true, the UWE stadium is dead and buried.

No, not dead and buried, UWE could just go back to 'plan A' and build a 6,000 capacity stadium for their own students use.

I'm not demanding an update from the Board or anything, since I realise that some things just can't be put into the public domain, but they've been in charge now for 9 months, or over 270 days. So they're not the new Board any more, yet still we are in the dark.

There must have been one hell of a lot of loose ends to clear up from the original Higgs agreement. Which I guess was ripped up and tossed in the bin some time ago.

will today be the day ?

tell any of your blue friends who are willing to listen that the latest on the UWE stadium fiasco , is that because the cost of the land has tripled they won't pay the asking price. Straight from the camels mouth.

Speaking of wild exaggerations, I see Rosenior has been on the crack again

Yes Leroy, £10m at least. Now put the pipe down ffs.

A player is only worth what is left on his contract, so as he only signed a one year deal last summer I'd say £1.5m in January at the absolute max, or it's a free transfer next summer.

A problem has arisen. In the original design there was a flaw in that the pitch would have been 7 metres too short. To include the full-sized pitch means that further Planning Approval is needed as the stadium will need to be expanded.

I am not ITK, but I do know some things.

I work with a bloke who goes to uni at UWE and he said with all the  buildings planned for the new Law Faculty there doesn't seem to be a lot of room left for a full size stadium. The area allocated is shrinking by the day :clapping:
