  1. Good news. And as long as England don’t send him back injured, no guarantee, he’ll be available for our next game
  2. You can get split tickets using just off peak day returns instead of Advance savers. ie. Bristol to Cheltenham, Cheltenham to Coleshill Parkway, C P to Leicester. That way you can get any train returning that day, you just maybe won’t get a seat for all the journey.
  3. Crikey that’s been going for a long time now. I used to go there quite often when I lived in Bristol some 20 years ago. It was about the only thing around there at the time, now there’s all sorts around. Always enjoyed it on a summers evening, especially 2003 which was a boiling hot summer in Bristol. Good to see it’s still going strong.
  4. It felt like the script in this game was written from the moment Hants won the toss and batted. You could see a poor batting performance from us coming up with us rallying to a decent fourth innings total in the 4th innings of the match. And also as predicted, although they did fairly well in the first innings, our second string bowling line up were never going to take 20 wickets in the match. 2 weeks now until our next and final home game, hopefully we’ll have Overton, Davey, Aldridge and maybe Leach back for that and finish our home campaign on a high.
  5. Teignmouth might be asking too much so I’ll take TVP. Just booked my train actually, with split ticketing managed to get it under a £100
  6. Can they do a special to Leicester too? I think I know the answer to that but it'd be nice
  7. I know he wasn’t as popular but I guess Tomlin was the closest we’ve had since
  8. I was fearing the worse, it just felt one of those occasions made for a bad batting performance and bad it was, along with some very good bowling. We often rally in our second innings but this match will take some saving, especially with the forecast set fair
  9. 10 years to the day since we last played them in any form of competitive football. Over 22 years since we last played them in a league game. We went from 1963 to 1981 without losing to them. I can never make my mind up if I miss the derby games or happy we’re always above them. My favourite games, at Eastville for the one nil down two one up cup match, when we were in a division below. The Louie Donowa one nil victory at AG , the first time we’d beaten them for what seemed like ages, about 8 games I think.
  10. Sorted, went back in for the 6th time, it briefly said sold out but then let me buy it. COYR
  11. Anyone else had trouble paying? I can get all the way to payment then when I’ve added my details and pressed pay it comes up with error
  12. Well with about an hour to go Somerset’s mainly second string attack has toiled away and done a pretty good job. They do seem to be tiring a bit now, in fact every time I tune in we’re not very good so I have to turn over and watch England or the football.
  13. I remember reading about this and made a point of visiting the plaque on a visit to New York some 25 years ago. Great story.
  14. Back to the red ball at last tomorrow but Somerset’s bowling attack is without Davey, Baker, Aldridge, Leach and most worryingly CriagO. Whats left doesn’t look capaof taking 20 cheapish wickets but we’ll see. Craig getting injured in the 100 has really annoyed me. I’m not sure just bowling the occasional 4 overs on a cold night is good for the body.
  15. Another mish mash of a summer then. It all used to be so easy in the old days…………I know that makes me sound like an old git
  16. In our GJ play off season we had 17 points in the first 10 games, 17 in the second 10 and 17 in the third 10. I don’t think we quite got 17 in the fourth 10, can’t remember exactly. But anyway that was a good springboard for a playoff place
  17. What a terrific boost going into the break. 2 home games after the break, we must have the confidence to turn around our home form now, win those and things will look very rosy
  18. Listening to radio Wales pre match they were bemoaning the fact they sold Piroe for £10m and only spent £6m of it. You have to feel for them
  19. I think Han-Noah’s mentor, Thierry Henry, would have had an influence on the transfer. I would have loved to see H-N play in your team last season when you were dominating games. I’m guessing those games will be few and far between this season but I’m still really looking forward to seeing play for you and think/hope you’ll be pleased with what you see.
  20. The odd thing is I don’t think we know for certain when the rest of the tournament takes place. I presume a very similar time to this year, maybe a tad later. Which will mean a long break from the quarter finals to finals day so you lose all momentum for players and fans. I think a Taunton based team might get dragged into the 100 next year too. If it does I wonder where we’ll play our 50 over games now we don’t have any out grounds
  21. Confirmed, best of luck Han-Noah. Look forward to seeing him play in the Premier league
  22. I haven’t the time to read this thread but as there’s been a few similar one’s going around at the moment I want to ask, hasn’t he said he wants to sell and is looking for a buyer?
  23. I’ve never heard her commentate but have heard her do match reports and interview the Yeovil managers after games on Radio Bristol as I drive home from games and find her very good at that part of her job. I think her dad is a director or something at Yeovil and thought that might be how she landed the job but I think she’s as good as anyone on radio Bristol. Decent surname too.
