  1. I’m trying to think of a single England player that’s played any 50 over cricket since we last won the World Cup, besides the occasional ODI. You reap what you sow and putting the 100 ahead of a 50 over contest was yet another reason why it was the worst thing to happen to cricket.
  2. Obvs! I knew everyone knew that already so didn’t bother mentioning you.
  3. I must admit when Weimann (?) put through a long ball for him to chase into the corner late on, I was holding my breath he would get there without a twinge. What I'd give for a injury free season from here on.
  4. I mean right to the top, Mings and Butland both played for England and Tommy will play international, Scotland by the looks of it, too I believe
  5. I swear I wrote Mings as I was looking at his record at the time, edited now, ta.
  6. Not many Somerset born footballers make it to the top. Tyrone Mings, Jack Butland and Tommy are all I can think of atm. Is it too late for him to be English again instead of Scottish?
  7. If he was any good he’d have had a hat trick. We’re stuck with him for at least 2 more years I’m afraid
  8. I’ve been thinking all season what a difference a Tammy Abraham or Tommy Conway would make to this team. We’re talking a lot of points.
  9. I was going to write something about not expecting too much from Tommy just yet before the match.
  10. That was absolute class. In a game that has been lacking in class, that was unbelievable
  11. Not a classic but still intriguing how it’s playing out and how our players react to different situations. And I’d still rather be watching us, even if it was the World Cup final on the other channel.
  12. I wonder what angle or footage they saw. The Pring one I saw what I presume was a supporter's footage from the south stand and from that angle there seemed no doubt it was a pen.
  13. Yes, I still feel our fans let us down in the final v Italy, the amount in the ground that had turned up after a 6/8 hour alcohol/cocaine binge and offered nothing towards the atmosphere was a huge shame. Not sure what you can do but to see Wembley that day absolutely rammed at 1 o’clock with a brilliant atmosphere it was never going to last for the 8 o’clock kick off and beyond. The whole evening was a lot flatter than it should have been on and off the pitch.
  14. I didn’t realise they were that big. My mate wants to do Dharamsala but it looks a quite difficult trip and I won’t have too much time, I’m also in the - not sure my wife would allow me away for too long club- plus I’m not sure about the weather there. I need warm sun. Thanks for the information
  15. I’m still researching but they seem to be not bothering with any of the big grounds in this series. I’m thinking of a few days at the Visakhapatnam test at it looks an interesting coast and maybe a couple days at the one before in Hyderabad as they’re close together. It won’t be a long trip, I’m really using it to escape the English winter for a bit and taking in a bit of cricket will be a bonus.
  16. Cheers. Yes I must admit you don’t often see capacity crowds for tests but next years are nearly all on smaller lesser known grounds but I’m still confident of getting some.
  17. Anyone here been to a test match in India? I’m tempted to go over for one of the tests next Jan or Feb , I don’t want to do one of the overpriced official tours but I can’t find anywhere that sells tickets.
  18. It’s good to get an early opportunity to put thing’s right after what was a fairly disastrous day against Stoke. I fully expect us to to do just that with a 2-0 victory.
  19. We need to learn how to defend when we’ve had longish periods without having to do much defending. Against Leicester when we had a lot of defending to do but we looked pretty solid and it took a penalty to score the only goal. At home in games we’ve had less defending to do we’ve struggled, Birmingham, Plymouth hit the post and missed a sitter and of course Saturday. I don’t know if it’s a concentration thing or just getting dragged out of position trying to get a winning goal but I never feel easy when we have a sustained period of attack, I’m always worried a breakaway will lead to a goal.
  20. I’m not feeling comfortable yet. 2 or 3 swings to the USA and we’re in trouble. From about now onwards is when if one team gets a bit of momentum it’s hard to stop.
  21. If USA had started like we have I’d be a tad nervous now. Still a long way to go but we’re looking focused
  22. Why do we cremate the pies? I saw a few people eating them yesterday including the guy in front of me and they are so overcooked they’re almost inedible. I had one a few weeks ago, about 2.30 so not late in the day and it was so overcooked and dry. Ruined. And if anyone says it’s got to be kept at that heat for H&S reasons how come other clubs manage to serve up a decent pie?
