  1. Yes I think the cup game was Massengo’s debut. I was thinking of putting a bob or two on Mehmeti scoring, not just the new manager thing but I think Nige was beginning to look to him for a bigger role in the coming months.
  2. I hadn’t realised we’d won 5 in a row there, even though I was at a few of them. There and Stoke really are happy hunting grounds, long May it continue.
  3. When I was young I loved the Italian football shirt, what a beautiful blue! Blue and white quarters are easily the worst thing you could put on a shirt, even Blackburn’s halves are hard work.
  4. When I saw the boss wearing gloves at a training session when it wasn’t even cold yet, I was all ready to tear up my season card, or whatever one does with a digital version. Anyway, he took them off so promotion here we come.
  5. Agree, way too early to judge him on interviews. Especially the one where he addressed the players, to have to do that with a camera in the room would have been hard for a seasoned campaigner.
  6. Yes those two stand out. Thinking back to the day they were announced, I was thrilled when Coppell joined and underwhelmed when Cotterill joined, so no good asking me to predict what’s coming up!
  7. I make that my 23rd appointed full time, not caretaker/interim manager as an attending City fan. If you started supporting City between Oct 1967 and September 1980 you’ll have the same number as me, such was the longevity of Alan Dicks. The first man on that list took us to the top, good luck Liam, here’s hoping you become the next.
  8. That’s one job he’d improve at least. In charge of hospitality might work too.
  9. I’d go for the educated foreign coach, Swedish Tommy.
  10. My first task is to start winning........ Penalties
  11. Might be just me but I’m never as happy as I should be when a player is sent off against us. I know it was Bannan who’s got a good record against us but I’d rather let the game play out as it was supposed to. I don’t know the stats but it feels like we can struggle against 10. Very happy to get over the line yesterday but some scary second half moments.
  12. When I first saw the name I thought it was our former Goalie! But that was Bo Andersen , who did go into management.
  13. Did you get a good price on him?
  14. I’m getting the feeling @Never to the dark side wishes he never asked! Edit, I’ve just realised this thread is 2 years old and has been revived by a person from India with their first post. WTF.
  15. Not a single comment on today’s game! I’ve barely commented on any of this World Cup which I normally would have done frequently. I guess it’s because we have been so poor but just feel a bit meh about the whole WC in India. I love the 50 over format, I’m sure I saw a Times headline suggesting Mike Atherton think’s the same. A good full days cricket that requires skills from red ball and T20. But the fact our counties don’t play it any more with their first elevens has pissed me off so much I can’t be doing with it.
  16. Yeah that was odd, imagine him saying I’ve got someone in mind, he’s not at all inspiring but he’ll do. If Manning ticks enough of Jon’s boxes to employ him then Jon’s going to find him inspiring. I must admit I haven’t read up enough on him to judge yet.
  17. I’ve had a few non City supporting mates comment on how it seems to them a strange decision sacking Nige, where normally they’d have said nothing about our manager changes. I hope this apparent nationwide questioning of the Lansdown’s judgment doesn’t put off a potential decent replacement. Probably not as all in all it is still a good job.
  18. Well the same style of play more than the physical side, days off or whatever
  19. Jon and/or Tinns said the new person would be chosen because they will be ready to coach in the same way we’ve been coaching/playing so no need for assembling a new squad. Or something like that
  20. I haven’t read much of this thread but how the hell is it still going strong? I must say the rumours on Lampard have surprisingly spread like wildfire, the chap sat next to me reckons he’s been here all week! If only people had easy access to a camera nowadays……..
  21. You might be right re Steve, it’s hard to know now he’s taken a back seat. I think Jon knows now he’s taken a gamble he didn’t need to make right now, it could have been a much easier decision to make down the line and he’ll be very worried about getting it right, I think.
  22. We know the Lansdown’s are out of touch but I wonder what they’ve made of the fallout this week. As they still don’t seem to have anyone and rumours of being turned down by their 1st choice, I wonder if they’re thinking “why the hell did we do that?”
  23. SkyBet have a Twitter account called @RequestABet. They don’t always get back though, depends how busy they are I think
