  1. Not a bad performance in difficult conditions at times. An away point and the best team on the day, again.
  2. Well that was needed……and in the first 15 of the second half!! Well done Tommy, kick on now.
  3. Good idea and yes the EL is a game changer crossing west to east.
  4. I don’t think any strikes planned but don’t rule out maintenance work on a Sunday. Some journeys, from Devon, are already saying bus replacement may make up part of the journey. Travelling by train in recent times is an absolute lottery, I’ve just had most of my return ticket for the Saints game refunded as it was late both ways, for different reasons.
  5. 11 games against them without a win stretching back almost 46 years. That season 77/78 we did the double over them, I can remember going to the home 3-2 victory.
  6. Wierd that the clubs twitter has tweeted since announced but still not mentioned the cup tie date!
  7. Interesting signing for Somerset today. Will Sutherland, not an at the end of his career signing but an up and coming starlet one. An all rounder that bowls medium fast and has a first class ton, he’s from Victoria like Peter Siddle, who spoke highly of Somerset when Sutherland asked his advice. Looking forward to this one.
  8. Soon to be followed by 5 pages on who’s happy and can make it and who can’t. Then how are we getting there, much easier now there’s the Liz line btw, then will there be train strikes, then where are we drinking, then it’ll be time for @Jerseybean match day thread.
  9. Looks like one of the stands from the memorial ground on the right of the bridge, that must have been where they got it. That bridge is such an iconic bit of engineering, known around the world and putting Bristol on the map.
  10. True but still an odd stat. When you hear the first part of the story you’d think they’d both turn up in league 2. Obviously there are underlying and different stories for both players but a strange occurrence to happen, in October especially.
  11. Last season was so *dreadful I can’t bear to go this season, it being an evening game doesn’t help. *dreadful = 2 regular first teamers who had bad games never played for City again. Both have since been signed by premier league clubs.
  12. This has been an issue for so many years now yet I’ve never heard an explanation why it’s so poor. Maybe I missed it, has anyone heard an explanation from management? The first few years after the rebuild I was making excuses, always thinking it’ll be sorted next season but nothing ever changes. You only have to visit a shop on an away day to realise just how all round bad our offerings are.
  13. At least at AG you know it’ll be nice and cold
  14. . I saw a bit of hop skip and jump there, or the Olympics as some call it, does that count? Actually it’s quite a different stadium nowadays so probably no. Plus a lot of us count grounds we’ve seen City play on and that’ll be new for everyone. Please not Monday night though

True, it does feel like it’s happened far too often. I couldn’t be bothered to go any further back to get more stats though.
  16. As always with this question, all season ticket holders would have been counted as being there, plainly lots weren’t today.
  17. Thought it was very noticeable that he didn’t look as comfortable on the left at Southampton.

The last 3 games we’ve come out after half time very flat and certainly not on the front foot. It’s cost us 2 goals v Boro, the winner on Wednesday and the equaliser today. All scored between 45 and 60 minutes. Must do better, change where you get the half time oranges or something.
  19. Watching the results come in I can’t remember a time where there were so many of our ex players, playing for teams above us.
  20. Interesting. It makes sense I suppose as far as being accessible, which the current ground certainly isn’t, but I’ve never been a big fan of out of town stadia. Especially a long day at cricket, it’s nice sometimes to nip into town, get some food or whatever. I wonder where it’ll be exactly?
  21. That’ll definitely be because it’s Christmas weekend, lots of people will be travelling on the Saturday or last minute shopping. Years ago it was always called Black Saturday and tended to attract smaller crowds as everyone would be Christmas shopping. Nowadays most people would more likely to be Christmas shopping in November
  22. The thing about away games is you can go and stand pretty much where you like. You can usually see where the trouble spots are going to be, avoid them and concentrate on and enjoy the game. And no I’m not saying these things people are witnessing is right but unless you’ve got an answer how to eradicate it, I know I haven’t, then just avoid it. I was there on Wednesday, enjoyed the game uninterrupted and didn’t notice any unsavoury going ons. Same with all the sold out away days in recent years.
  23. For those delayed going to the game yesterday, don’t forget you can claim money back. Ours was over an hour late arriving so should get all the money for that leg back. Unfortunately I was also 40 minutes late going back today, so some back for that too. I’d rather had been on time this morning than claim money having spent 1 hour 20 minutes on an absolutely freezing Westbury station.
  24. I’ve just looked it up, Millwall went from the relegation zone at Christmas and just missed out on the playoffs by 2 points, finishing 8th. Forest did Indeed have a dreadful start and were bottom and in all kinds of trouble until Cooper came along. However, I think by Christmas they were already up to 8th
  25. Didn't Millwall go from the relegation zone at Xmas to finish in the play offs a few years ago?
