  1. Own goal and our keeper had it covered if she’d left it, shame after great defending.
  2. If they’re going to do that every game they can go back to the Memorial stadium. Looks terrible.
  3. Now we’re in the age of digital tickets I wonder how easy it’ll be to swap tickets with other fans. There’s bound to be fans with tickets in the wrong locations, it’d make sense to have a swapping webpage.
  4. Back then there was no side to take and we all love taking a side in something we love. Now it’s becoming more apparent every day that for most not all, it’s either the Lansdown’s or Pearson you support and the Alex Scott money situation has pushed most into the Pearson camp. Plus you have to remember how fickle a lot of fans are, if Coventry had taken 3 of their chances in the first half the numbers on Nige’s side this morning may not be as big.
  5. Involved for Bournemouth’s goal, taking the ball off the keeper and progressing into midfield and a nice forward pass with opponents closing in on him. Seconds later they’ve scored. He’s been a long time out so was subbed just before an hour but that’ll improve in the coming weeks. Wether Bournemouth do I don’t know.
  6. It’ll soon be the anniversary of the shambolic Remembrance Day “moments silence” that went so badly there wasn’t any silence, just clapping and confusion.
  7. When I was a young kid Bobby Charlton was as big an ambassador for England as the Queen. One player I’d love to see play in this era, goodness knows what he’d be worth.
  8. Do you think new owners might be imminent and as new owners often want their own man at the helm Steve is just saving the club, new owners, money by not giving Nige a new contract? It’s all a disappointing to say the least.
  9. Which is what I’ll do. These night time closures are a pain and they don’t always seem to announce them, I was driving back from the last evening game and all of a sudden we were led off the motorway for a junction. It wasn’t too bad but those who travel further than me can end up with huge delays which make evening games nowadays almost not worth the effort.
  10. I sit right next to the corporate seats and it seems a lot emptier this season than previous. A few years ago the corporate one’s to my left were always taken. Now there always seems to be loads of spare seats. I’ve no idea of the actual numbers but it appears they’re struggling to sell seats there a lot more than they used to. I might be wrong though.
  11. Well for a normal match day there’s a few options starting at about £132 and going to over £200 depending how many courses, or if you want private tables etc but for a cup match I’ve been in before for about £60. It really is nice in there plus you get a very nice seat near the halfway line, whereas the HL you get a seat in the corner of the SS and LS, I’d prefer to be in my own seat than there.
  12. Yes a cup game, as long as it’s not a top team, is a good opportunity to try out the Lansdown hospitality which is quite a bit better than the Heineken lounge.
  13. It seems to vary wether you get a reduction as a season card holder, sometimes I have sometimes not. They do have offers from time to time, most Black Fridays they have an offer to buy for any upcoming match and that’s usually a good deal.
  14. Ah, I’d forgot those 4 appearances for WBA were in the top flight. That narrows down the list even more.
  15. Yes, but they both first played for England before they’d played in our top flight. I’m sure Bellingham will play in our top flight at some point but at the moment he’s in a small group of players, certainly in the last 50 years, that have played for England before they’ve played England’s top division.
  16. He did indeed. And had played a lot for England before he had played in the top flight here.
  17. I’ve just realised I thought I’d put in the last 40 odd years, the time I’ve been watching football but I didn’t.
  18. The brilliant Bellingham got me thinking. When was the last time someone has played for England but never played in the top flight in England. As I write I’ve just thought of Owen Hargreaves, before that the only other that comes to mind in my time is Steve Bull. Probably others though?
  19. The Aberfan song was certainly sung in the early 80s when we started playing Welsh sides again after our 4 year break from them. I didn’t start going to Ashton Gate until I was 12/13 so was aware how wrong it was.
  20. Fortunately it was the goal that was late, Nahki was very much still with us at the end. Much to the annoyance of his old club who’s fans were speculating they would have won by 5 goals if Nahki had been on their side.
  21. It’s one ground I’ve visited so many times I’ve got every memory possible. Wins, defeats and draws. Hot August days, warm autumn days and freezing winter days. One game that I really enjoyed was a couple of years ago with the late Nahki Wells winner. I was remembering it after the Stoke game when I was thinking why can’t we win games that we’ve been second best for most of the 90 minutes. Then I remembered that QPR game.
  22. If Mark Ashton promises to bring his new best friend, Ed Sheeran, it could add a few to the attendance for the Ipswich game. On the other hand……..
  23. It’s maybe going very well for Alex. He was bought very much to improve their team and with 8 games gone and Bournemouth winless and 2nd bottom, he hasn’t played a minute. Hopefully he’ll be back very soon and stay fit and if they then climb out of the relegation zone to safety it could all look very good for Alex.
