I would imagine for starters that a contract requires players to get clearance from the club ahead of media interviews, which Ronaldo didn't do here.

There may be "bringing the club into disrepute" type clauses among other things.

No doubt we'll find out the legal details in due course but given some of his other actions I suspect he may have breached his contract in multiple ways.

United are said to have taken external legal advice and I doubt they would start the process without being very confident in their position.

I would also presume he broke his contract by refusing to play 3mins at the end of the game which has always been done to use time up but he refused so that should be enough.

The Wells pen was stonewall tbh. Committed performance, should have taken all three today but defensively the standard has been set today against a side who will be right up there. Can’t fault the effort or the performance today.

Think nige got what he asked for and the players he trusts gave him a committed performance well done and Andy King did better than I was expecting so good solid point.

Listening to the weekly pre match press conference it would seem he knows he isn’t going anywhere, but need a result

I thought he showed a little bit of feeling the pressure on our results. He is doing what was asked to cut costs etc very well but it seemed to me that although he knows he has done a decent job on all the past club issues and what was asked of him  its time the results turned and I thought he came across like he knows It.

Defending corners/set plays is a long-standing issue and earlier in the week the  squad spent the entire training session working on defending them and it seemed to work reasonably well at the Baggies but then in the next fixture the same issue is back - no surprise that Nige was so frustrated.

Question is - other than working hard on defending them what other methods are there? Every City player has an opponent to mark but clearly they’re not doing their individual job - who was supposed to be marking Loum?

I imagine defending set plays again will be a priority this week at Failand, particularly near post where Loum scored a free header from.

Thing is though robbored they don't have a player to mark they just so say defend a zone which allows un marked runners the freedom to run at them.

More to do with the players than NP

Beginning to wonder now I'm a pearson in but he seems to be struggling to get the right format and seems to just throw all the subs on randomly to try to change outcome.

What has been noticeable imo since he has been back in the side is our high pressing from the front has dipped considerably. Tommy made a big difference in that respect when he came on today.

Agree I have posted before that as good as he can be he is difficult to get into a set disciplined system he is an off the cuff type better suited to a 30 min tare up second half.

I didn't really notice in the first half but certainly for much of the second half Pearson was sat down. Curtis and ? were doing all the touchline stuff.

Pearson was either bored, run out of ideas or couldn't give a toss. Maybe all three.

He does seem to look lost when change of tactics required during games and usually does a wholesale change rather than a tinker. I believe he said he wasn't a coach but a manager at one-point a while back.

Because they are comparable to the Premier League not the championship. There are still decisions you have to make for financial reason which you can’t really say for the top level of football. It is pretty simple either way. There is a limit on spending and once you get close you can’t spend more.

Again, you have taken a comment and twisted it to something it is not. I said it it was Holden and Johnson and we were say 15th would you be saying they haven’t had money to spend so it is ok? I don’t think anyone would.

I have no issue with praising NP. Go for it. All I ever said is I have enough questions that I am saving any praise for another day. Which should be a normal forum comment but on here you have to go with the popular opinion. Is what it is.

I am focusing on the negative because the thread was a praise thread. If it was a negative thread I might have pinpointed some positives(unlikely ?) but yea just defending my thoughts on him. If I made a list of pros and cons on my feelings about NP the lists would probably be close to equal. I am undecided on him. Most are convinced.

No not go for it as in spend money. Go for it as the squad will likely be worse off next summer.

Idk it seems as if he’ll blindly persist with some and change others after one subpar performance. I have said chop and change probably wrong term. I don’t think he is solving the problems in the right way.

For example, Brum away. It was predictable. He needed to use King in an emergency against Coventry. Ok fair enough and it worked out. It should have been a one off but he put him out there again and we got humbled. Then for the next game he made 4 changes when it was probably as simple as bringing Klose in. Then we are poor against Millwall and there are more changes. So what was it? Why was it good enough for Preston but not Millwall? Why not just say it is a bad day at the office and give them another go?

You can’t play the same lot for 46 games I get that but there does not seem to be any formula to it. You can see a Sykes Dasilva or Weimann be off it for 4-5 games in a row and play again. Then you can see a Wells or Conway off it for a half and they are hooked. This team that played last night, I’d like to see them pretty much unchanged for a bit to see if they can grow into it more. Not 3 changes if it is a loss on Saturday. I don’t see how you can get any cohesion when you are in and out.

agree with a lot of your points

A good response after Saturday's shambles. Felt very comfortable in the 2nd half, we maintained excellent discipline.

Sykes, Vyner, James, Klose were fantastic tonight

I believe nige has enough clubs in the bag even though squad is small all being fit to do well I think as tonight he has to tweak system when needed and not be stubborn or rigid well done and nice to hear him positive after

He was supposed to be the bargain of the season when we got him, but he hasnt lived up to expectations,,, to weak defensively, pretty much zero goal threat, or assists and doesnt really influence much. Similar to palmer then.  Seeing as we are so poor defensively, giving pring a go would seem a no brainer

It would indeed.Nige says he has a small squad and yet seems to have regular fall outs and  basically tries to show who's boss by banishing players from the squad cutting his small squad down further, Pring has not been near squad which is crazy.

I don't get it..........JD Silva has had game after game to prove he can contribute and cross the ball to a reasonable standard, and has failed dismally?  Pring gets his first run out of the season, and is dismissed as useless before he has had a chance to even show his worth?  i think he needs a couple of games to bed in, and get the opportunity to dislodge a very very average JD Silva

Pring is a threat getting forward and a great crosser of the ball.he is quicker and taller than desilva so overall I would say he would be a better fit.
