  1. Think they'll fund UWE, so maybe not...
  2. Quite. Plus there's the small matter of FFP. I think UWE will get built though, which will obviously help things. I did always say you had a backup plan on that front
  3. Khan v Alvarez been confirmed for Cinco de Mayo weekend in Vegas. Fair play to Khan for agreeing to jump up two weight divisions to take the fight. Should be another cracker - as most Khan fights are.
  4. My sources suggest BRFC aren't exactly confident about winning this appeal.
  5. Agreed. He is still a quality fighter and he was right when he said his power could take anyone out at heavyweight. I'm guessing Wilder and Fury will be meeting at some point this year after this happened last night...!!
  6. Just leaving ground - buzzing! The lads played out of their skins. Last 20 minutes we were excellent and thoroughly deserved all 3 points.
  7. West Brom clearly going for it then. What is our master tactician going to do to try and win the game?
  8. Think Saunders edged the Eubank fight. Will prob win tonight on points tho Lee always dangerous.
  9. Sorry but if you think Fury winning was predominantly about VK being poor then you probably don't understand boxing. Half the battle (at least) is not getting hit and Fury showed himself to be an unordthadox, awkward fighter who moves very well for a heavyweight. VK didn't suddenly just forget that you have to throw punches to win a boxing match - he couldn't throw any because Fury didn't let him. You can't punch what you can't see or what isn't in range. It wasn't pretty but Fury outboxed him fair and square. As for AJ I couldn't watch the fight Saturday but going 7 rounds and being tested was 100% the best thing for him. He's still so young there's no point in rushing him. I'd give him a couple more run-outs at least next year before a world title fight.
  10. Absolutely bizarre that Fury has already been stripped of his IBF belt! He had to fight Glazkov in a mandatory but is obviously fighting Klitschko instead. BUT all he had to do was make a deal with Glazkov so that he stepped aside ie let Glazkov fight on the Fury v Klitchsko or agree to fight Glazkov next. Complete numpty. On the positive it now means the IBF belt is up for grabs and will surely mean AJ is guaranteed a shot at it next year. They'll be queuing up to fight Glazkov - Haye as well. Interesting times but weird decision by Fury.
  11. We don't look like scoring in a month of Sundays and continue to make silly errors at the back. Recipe for disaster.
  12. Yep, Andy Lee and Billy Joe are both gypos. Lee is Tyson Fury's cousin. Haye had one massively anti climatic fight v Klitschko but other than that ko'd all his opponents at heavyweight level bar Valuev so I'd say his entertainment value ranks pretty high.
  13. UFC sucks, but each to their own. The big fights are often anti-climatic to casual fans but rarely to me. Take Mayweather v Pacman, most boxing fans would've told you that fight took place at least 3 years too late and Manny was shot. Couple that with Mayweather's ultra-cautious style and it was always going to be pretty dull. Same with Klitschko v Fury, with all due respect a KO was very unlikely and sure enough it was a poor fight - no way was I gonna pay £17 for it. Domestically though there's still plenty of good action. Britain currently has 12 world champions so we should be in a 'golden era' of sorts. You'd have been better off watching DeGale v Bute on Saturday night - DeGale is an exciting boxer with fast hands and will have some big, big fights next year. Andy Lee v Billie Joe Saunders on 19 December and Quigg v Frampton 27 February will both be entertaining fights I promise you. Apparently Kell Brook v Timothy Bradley could be on for next year and Adonis Stevenson v Kovalev would be another corker if made.
  14. Would Haye of got near Fury though?? Haye doesn't have the reach of Klitschko who failed to close the distance effectively. Haye just isn't a proper heavyweight and as long as Fury kept him at arms length then I don't see how he could win. Fury has said he won't give Haye the opportunity of fighting him now anyway after Haye pulled out of those fights so we may never know.
  15. Boxing is all about money at the end of the day. Is there really enough appetite amongst fans to see a rematch after that last night? Haye/Fury makes more money and probably Wilder/Fury too so I feel they're more likely. They can pay off Klitschko to step aside if he does indeed want a rematch (and I have my doubts he does).
  16. Dreadful 'fight' so far. Vlad has been worse than awful. I have Fury 5-3 up.
  17. What are you talking about? Fury's team getting Klitschko to have his wraps done again is surely a small 'win' for Fury.
  18. First meeting between City and Rotherham in the top two divisions since 1968. STATTO, STATTO.
  19. Haskins will never sell-out a big arena. The reality is his weight division is just not attractive enough. I've stood next to Lee and with all due respect to him, I was his size aged 11. He could probably still 'ave me, mind.
  20. Yeah, what's that all about? Sad to see Jones Jnr need money so badly (I presume) that he has to step in the ring with a no-mark like Maccarinelli. Absolutely disgusting and I have no interest in watching it. Last Vlad fight I saw was when he beat Povetkin in Moscow - truly awful fight. Vlad just kept leaning on him everytime he came close. He is dull to watch. Fury may cause him some problems early on if he has a go but Vlad will be cautious as ever. His defence will be strong and that jab will hurt Fury. I can't believe this fight is PPV and I certainly won't be wasting £17 watching it. Probably listen on the radio instead with Mike Costello's excellent commentary.
