  1. I was there! Massive let down. He was on the radio earlier saying it's injuries that've kept him out the ring for 3+ years but let's not forget in 2013 he announced he was heading to Hollywood to become a movie star - that obviously didn't pan out so well! I've never heard of any of the boxers on De Mori's record. Says it all. Haye/AJ must surely be a way off. Wait until one of them beats Wilder and it's a massive world title fight for sure.
  2. He battered Chisora after that to be fair. Used to like him quite a lot but he has become such a nause. Presumably needs a bit of cash hence the 'comeback'. Vlad is 40 next year and will surely give the belts up so there could be a bit of a free-for-all and some domestic match-ups. Deontay Wilder would be another straightforward route for Haye to become World Champion again. Never heard of this bum he's fighting in January....
  3. Should be a cracker but on box nation which I don't have so off to bed! Anyone give Fury a chance next weekend?
  4. Sakes! Sky box crashed so I missed the KO. Great story for Crolla was never convinced by Perez.
  5. He can definitely win. I thought he edged the first fight.
  6. The judging in boxing needs an overhaul. Too many bad decisions. Murray wasn't good enough tonight. Abrahams is a stellar operator. As Paul Smith said: good defence, efficient and finishes rounds well.
  7. Don't get to see Golovkin as he's always on Box Nation, which is a shame. They have Cotto v Alvarez in a couple of weeks which'll be a belter of a fight.
  8. You clearly haven't grasped the concept at all as the 'idea' is to weaken your opponent and ultimately knock them down and NOT to get whacked back. Brilliant sport and one of the oldest in the world, the 'sweet science'.
  9. Yeah that was impressive from Smith, that said I've never been as hot on Fielding as others have. Needs to step it up now and get a world title shot next year. Groves is an obvious choice as a lead-up fight and a good money spinner. I'm hoping to get tickets for Frampton v Quigg next February. Should be a cracker that.
  10. Yeah I'd take a point all day long. Been surprised at people all week saying they won't sustain themselves near the top and are just a mid-table outfit on a good run. Their first XI and bench look pretty strong to me.
  11. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that no-one is coming in to pay for the UWE Stadium. I've said for a few months now tho that I believe there are interested investors lurking in the background...
  12. Talk of a consortium taking Rovers over and magically delivering UWE and investing heavily in the club is off the mark. But there are options open to Rovers and various things going on behind the scenes that may come to fruition. I suspect a couple of their fans have heard little rumours and it's turned into Chinese whispers that something big is about to happen, when it isn't.
  13. Just arrived in Ipswich. Lovely day for it. Want to see some fight from us today at the very least.
  14. The Higgs/Watola dream team to remain for the time being.

  16. Plan b is getting housing on part of the Mem car park as I stated a few weeks ago. Then I'd guess trying to flog the rest of the site for retail. Would still surely give them a shortfall in funds to move to UWE unless of course they get investors on board.
  17. Not expecting another goalfest tonight. Rosler has really tightened Leeds up as their first few results demonstrate: 1-1, 1-1, 0-0. They had just 1 shot on target in their drab goalless draw at Reading, but on the flip side they've looked difficult to break down. Chris Wood will be leading the line, hopefully Flint can do a job on him - good test for Flint. Despite a fair amount of positivity after Saturday's performance I thought we looked porous at the back, Brentford looked capable of scoring on every attack. 11 v 11 personally I don't think we'd have neccessarily won - it could've finished 4 - 4. You know what to expect with Leeds, they're going to be a big, strong team. Our record against them last time we were in the C'ship was absolutely hopeless (played 6, lost 6). That said, I think the last time I saw Leeds at AG in a midweek game we beat them in the Coca Cola League Cup 2-1. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink scored then got sent off. Leeds line-up that night included Martyn, Bowyer, Wetherall, Radebe and Alfe Inge Haaland! Was 1997 - Goodridge and oooo Shaun Taylor for us! 1-1 tonight.
  18. Plan B has been engaged...watch this space (probably for a couple of months yet, mind )
  19. Unfortunately most of their usually intellectually challenged fans on 'Gas Shat' seem to have realised this... If this happened Basement Rovers would effectively be renting off a charity. They will have finally found their level...
  20. Car park sold for housing to fund a new stand and you'd be on the money I reckon...
