  1. "Really appreciate you giving up the time to talk to us today by the way, Steve" Repeated about 4 times per interview ? Certainly knew how to soften up his interviewees.
  2. His encounters with Steve Lansdown were box office too. He always pressed Steve firmly but fairly. Given Steve never speaks to the fans directly anymore, Geoff was really our only gatekeeper to holding him to account.
  3. "But first, let's get the latest on those roads"
  4. Inter are dreadful at the minute so I'd expect Benfica to come through that tie. Man C should have too much for Bayern too.
  5. Yes, especially as I reckon Arsenal and Liverpool, along with Man U, are the biggest clubs in British football, and the game was arguably the best of the PL season so far.
  6. Wrexham already have more financial clout, and probably a higher wage bill, than Salford.
  7. Wrexham pulling remarkable numbers on twitter. This is the kind of thing that'll be sure to land them huge sponsorship deals
  8. I didn't mention his height as a disadvantage tbf. However, yes he is even shorter than Marcelo or Dani Alves. And I think if you are only 1.7m then you need to be exceptional in other areas as a full back, and Jay isn't. Ironically he's decent defensively, it's going fwd where I think he lacks ability.
  9. Whilst we were without several first team players, if you look at the number of appearances and experience of today's starting 11, it was hardly a bunch of inexperienced kids, was it? Our two holding midfielders are Premier League winners ffs. Two of the forwards are ex-Premier League too. Millwall, Luton, PNE, Blackburn and Coventry out-performing us this season, nuts isn't it?
  10. True. However football has also evolved since 2012. A lot.
  11. I think the die was cast before Cam's excellent season. Jay just doesn't offer that physicality that Nige considers is vital in a successful C'ship side. I don't think Cam or Jay will be short of offers this summer. We'll be batting off the ones for Cam though, unless it's silly money.
  12. Been reliably informed he hasn't even been offered a new deal. However, I think he's actually been very good for us since January. Really good in fact. Playing with a bit of freedom, dare I say. Was so excited when we signed him for a relative bargain from Chelsea, after his form at Charlton, but after that injury he never quite recovered. But you'll always get 100% from Jay. Nige actually loves him, he's just not the "type" that Nige wants in that position. I'll look out for Jay in his career after City, he's a top guy.
  13. You should probably watch Welcome to Wrexham before responding... "It'll be great for the area and the community" is ultimately all that matters, isn't it? No-one is asking you to go and support Wrexham, but I'd be interested to hear why you can't get behind that principle?
  14. What they've done at Wrexham is a clever concept. Reynolds in particular seems a master of marketing. They must be raking it in from advertisers, from Reynolds' own companies as well as the likes of Expedia and Tik Tok. I think it's evident they do care a lot about the football club and it's community. Sure, they'll be a few naff moments along the way, as they're both North American and have worked in Hollywood. But they seem to be doing a decent enough job so far, keeping the existing fanbase onside whilst growing a new fanbase worldwide. Little doubt they will be promoted straight out of League Two next season; a much easier division to be promoted from than the National League. They'll be one of the bigger clubs at L1 level too, so I'm fully expecting them to be in the Championship in the not too distant future. After that, who knows...
  15. Yes, it is. Though it's a very similar arrangement at Brimscombe & Thrupp's ground too. So could've been either...
  16. Yep, but quite telling that he still hasn't signed a new deal too. I heard in January that our new contract offer to him was derisory. I assume that given his form since then, and across the season overall, we're going to be revisiting that with a much improved offer.
  17. Could be subconscious bias, or something more sinister. Who knows. The Negreira case in Spain is pretty remarkable; Barca paying millions of euros to a referee for "consultancy". Not saying that's what's going on in England, but it's extraordinary it happened at all and has been uncovered.
  18. I heard him too, very sensible for a sag
  19. Sorry there is still ONE MORE! Joe Royle is NOT one of the 11 - my fault.
  20. It's a bit of a grey area admittedly, but personally I don't think any of Scott, Pring or Semenyo are "products" of the academy. Alex Scott was in the academy/development squad for all of 6 months. Pring signed for us from Cheltenham aged 18, and Semenyo also signed a pro contract aged 18 and made his first team debut the season he joined. Big difference between them and Bryan, Reid, and Kelly.
