  1. Same with the Brentford pen decision v Newcastle. It's like they don't want Newcastle gate-crashing the top 4.
  2. Great win for Taunton at Bath yesterday. Bath's resources must be far greater than Taunton's. Rob "Dr" Dray doing a fantastic job, all considered. I went to Larkhall Athletic today. Beautiful ground overlooking Bath. 0-0 but an entertaining game with plenty of chances and a couple of sendings off!
  3. 11 managers have managed in the Premier League and managed City or Rovers. Two have already been mentioned in this thread. Name the other 9...
  4. Torquay v Wrexham last game of the season too. Could well be a massive game.
  5. Anyone know if its reduced/free e try if I turn up after tea?
  6. Is it on? Heading back from Cornwall today and was thinking of swinging by late afternoon for a bit of ?
  7. As good as. The residents around there will be far happier with a resi use than a stadium full of bin-dipping, inbreds, or a supermarket.
  8. This is what I am still struggling with, and why Rovers will have to put up more money than just the sale of the Mem to help finance the new stadium. And that's what I just cannot see, Wael and family committing many more millions into a project dependent on third parties, which may ultimately never happen. I'd heard that the family are already very nervous about supporting a top 10 L1 wage bill for Barton, and that is shown in their recently released £3.7m loss. The family are open to selling Rovers, and maybe a new consortium might be interested in part financing a new stadium. But there's so many if's and but's. As with the UWE project, it's like a house of cards, and only takes one party to pull the plug and it's over.
  9. This tallies with what I was told in January, that Conygar had told Rovers that they had to let them know this year whether they wanted to be involved in the site, or not. Conygar are obviously keen to progress things, and have a number of viable development options for the site. One of which includes a new stadium. The option agreement will apply a bit of time pressure to Rovers and other potential stakeholders. It'll flush out the timewasters, one of whom could certainly be Rovers; as their statement doesn't say much. A one year option is interesting, as there's no way they'll get planning permission through in Bristol in that time period. Yes, they can be extended, but one year feels a little light and non-committal for such a large development site.
  10. Yate are pretty poorly supported for the size of the town plus Chip Sodbury. I think they've done pretty well all considered. Is it Colin (Picksons) that still owns them?
  11. Absolutely. I've been to several Taunton games this year and they're competing well in every game I've seen including against high flying Oxford City. They've had quite the rise over the past three years. Kev Sturmey and Rob Dray have done great jobs. Sustaining Taunton at this level will be tricky and I wonder if we'll suffer as Taunton have traditionally relied on loan players from the likes of Torquay and Yeovil, so them not doing well won't help Taunton. Hopefully Tinnion will sort us with a couple of youngsters; but again probably still more likely to head further south to one of the bigger boys.
  12. I hadn't realised that yesterday was Plymouth's first EVER cup final. Along with having never played in the top flight, that feels like a history of underachievement for a decent sized club, with plenty of potential. Not that we're ones to talk, but at least we've been to what 4 cup finals and played a few seasons in the first division.
  13. Screw Chelsea, and everything they stand for, and have done for many years. After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Abrahmovic should never have been allowed to swan off into the sunset, and Chelsea get bought and magically start spending hundreds of millions again. They've probably distorted the european transfer market more than any other club over the years. An absolutely shite club. I hope that they don't finish top 4 next season. If they don't, they could have significant FFP problems.
  14. We literally don't have enough first team squad members to fill a bench.
  15. If the Fury family had half a brain cell between them they'd get the AJ fight made for this year.
  16. I'm listening on the radio and it's just kicked off between Bellew and Franklin's trainer with Steve Bunce acting as peacemaker apparently ?
  17. I'm listening on RB today and Chris Honor has been saying what an enjoyable first half it's been for City!
  18. A victim of culture and economics. Young people don't drink as much as their elders and wet pubs simply aren't viable anymore, generally. Pretty much a third of UK pubs gone since 1980.
  19. Then the TV adaptation is inaccurate. Bit strange as to why they'd get a Welsh actor to pull a westcountry accent. Wasn't he of traveller origin? Maybe it's a very shit attempt at that...
