  1. On The Gold, him and his wife are portrayed as having "westcountry" accents.
  2. The ending was a bit annoying in that sense. I hope they're well into filming season 2 so that we're not waiting too long. It's annoying when you get to the end of what you think is a mini-series, but in fact you're basically halfway through the story... other than that a decent series, though surely there are actors out there actually from the westcountry that could've played Palmer, instead of a welshman from Aberystywyth
  3. Yeah, meant to be. Still not sure how to rate him tbh. He's a puncher for sure, but has no jab to speak of and only really one shot, an overhand right; granted a deadly shot. Also, his resume is less than impressive. Who's his biggest win? Fury will beat anyone on his day in all likelihood as he's bigger than everyone else, can box, and has taken drugs. Shame he doesn't share that belief though, otherwise AJ and Usyk fights would have, or would be happening.
  4. Shame he had to tap his head like a tit as soon as he arrived at Cardiff, otherwise I'd find myself giving more of a shit about his career.
  5. I concur with @Bob Turnip on Marmo. It's not traditional Italian food, but a twist on Italian. I had fried pigs head as a starter, which I'd never had before but was excellent. Not been Blaise Inn, but it's run by the previous head chef of Harvey Nichols. I ate there a few times and the food was always really good, so I'm sure she's continued that at Blaise. I know the owner of COR so a bit biased but I visited in Nov and thought it was excellent. He used to be head chef at Gambas. I thought Rassasy was excellent last weekend @Robbored. Went with the set menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Up there with Nutmeg for me. Tandoori lamb chops and the lamb curry were the highlights. The rasmalai dessert (made of milk solids) didn't have the most pleasing of textures, but that's Indian desserts for you! Good value too.
  6. We were solid and gutsy after the sending off. Was never worried Italy would score.
  7. I watch a fair bit of Serie A and it's loaded with former Premier League players. It's almost like going back in time and watching the Prem from 5 years ago. The standard and style of football is generally decent though, hence a strong showing from Italian teams in the CL.
  8. True, literally have no strikers. As I say that, they score.... !!
  9. This is not a very good Italy team mind. Mancini very lucky to still be there.
  10. You should have seen Bears last two performances!!
  11. I think it adds more weight to the theories that he ducked AJ twice too. First, over the rematch clause with Wilder that he forgot to mention to anyone, and then with setting ridiculous ultimatums to AJ the second time around (as he has done with Usyk here). Seems Fury is a fighter more interested in protecting his 0 than getting in the ring with the best.
  12. Not sure we can read much into an "email threat", probably sent by some bored school kids. The fans football team is just a load of scarfers that follow England away, what exactly were these ultras going to do? The reality is, Italy has some of the tightest restrictions and toughest punishments for hooligans. Everyone attending the game will need to show ID/passport, and it is actually enforced. Naples will be on lockdown by the police. I can see there being a bit of bother, but the carnage predicted by some is a bit OTT.
  13. Bit daft putting a 21 year old in that kind of role. But then this is Rovers so not wholly unsurprising
  14. 73 horse deaths at Cheltenham since 2000. Malinello who died on Tuesday was the sixth horse to die in racing in the UK this month. https://www.horsedeathwatch.com/ Bookmakers contribute about 45% of racing income.
  15. Yeah, slightly embarrassed it was about 4 years since my last visit. It's seriously good. Shame a fair few will be put off by the lack of meat. If you like good seasonal food you'll enjoy it.
  16. I don't think you can rule out Chelsea in the CL. The last two times they've won it has been in testing circumstances shall we say.
  17. Rassasy - going there this weekend. Forgot to add my thoughts on Root at Wapping Wharf from a couple of weeks back. It's excellent, really couldn't fault anything. Apart from maybe the homemade limoncello at the end which was "bracing", shall we say. There was no meat on the menu. Only a couple of fish/mussels dishes and the rest is all vegetarian. Lots of inventive dishes and all the flavours hit the spot. Only second time I've been but I'd put it right up there as one of the best I have been to in Bristol. Menus — ROOT BRISTOL
  18. For all the talk of Luton being a tough place to go to, they've actually only won six of their 18 home games (two less wins than us at home) and sit 13th in the home league table. It's away from home where they've been brilliant, the best in the division in fact. Thought we played ok there last season and were unfortunate to lose & obviously beat them fairly comfortably at AG this season.
  19. Simply two much bigger clubs than us, having better seasons too. I'd be interested to see a "mileage adjusted" table. I'm guessing we'd be halfway, and pretty much the same support as the likes of Stoke and WBA. Given we've been mostly hovering around the middle/lower middle of the C'ship for two years, it's not bad I suppose. And it is worth re-emphasising our home support is excellent for a club that hasn't seen top flight football for 43 years.
