  1. Just back & sorry if this is a repeat as yet not read the thread

I’m fully supportive of Manning but today he got that massively wrong.

Possibly our strongest squad options to start with - he got startng line up wrong & also the subs.

We we’re playing well creating chances but not finishing until Bell went off with injury - Sykes to us seem the obvious replacement. Seem all down hill from there onwards.

Off the back of an excellent win, full compliment of attacking players to utilise we’re treated to 90+ mins of Nakhi being a yard off everything.

Hopefully, the coaching team will learn from this.

I think since the season ticket has been moved to our phone far fewer people give their seat to someone when they can't make it. Its too complicated for many (inc me) to arrange the E transfer

I think this creates less income for the club from food and drinks

This is The key factor here

At one point recently you could “distribute” your ticket & pass it on via email, super easy! - this option has now disappeared and you have to reassign to a member. This so especially annoying when you want to share with non members, frankly it’s not worth the effort and this so probably why there are empty ST seats around the ground in general.

  3. 9 Of the final 14 matches are against teams below us/bottom end.

Probably means nowt but roll the current form forward & we can be confident of a strong finish -possible highest finish in years.

There's still a strong feeling that some posters can't praise Manning.

    It’s weird isn’t it.

I’m encouraged by him, think with backing & a full pre-season we could actually be on for achieving something more.

Wouldn't use the phrase "got away with it", it's how teams sit in, dig in and defend the lead you have

Fair enough, but a team of Boro’s quality we were one slip away from conceding, saved by the offside call the limo must have had excellent vision as it looked like Greenwood was inside.

  6. Felt like it was a wise move to sit in straight after the break as Boro would no doubt come for us. But to remain like that was suicidal,  we got away with it but looked like far more effort defending for 45 like that, fair play to the lads for digging in.

We needed the win, I can see the rationale but still thought it was a mental tactical change for the whole half.

Conway is overrated. He can be lazy. Doesn't react to situations quick enough. Wells still better for the team. Offers of £5million would sell asap..

I know we lost but seriously?

If he does as you suggest can you pin this to your signature as we watch his career develop with decent service.

On paper Cornick looked a decent signing, not working out for him here for whatever reason admittedly but to slate Pearson for taking a low risk gamble on a player that had done well at this level with Luton is laughable IMO.

    Oh no he didn’t!

Each to their own I guess. Some people want more than mediocre…

Maybe but anything else  is wishful thinking.  Because on what basis is the expectation of more in anyway realistic - it can’t be based on any history at this level.

  10. Why do so many come at it like we’re a premier league parachute team?

Reality is we’re a mid table championship club at best who will get raided for best players to stay a float.

When was the last time we troubled the playoffs (not including L1)

Unlikely to go down or up - we’ll win some lose some - enjoy the ride & let’s hope the board back Liam for next season.

  11. We all know/knew it’s never a top 6 squad, I don’t know why this keep getting quoted, it obvious spin & repeating is as preposterous as the statement itself.

Change of coach was never going to revolutionise our season - I can’t imagine anyone thought for a minute it would.

But I think we can all agree there are green shoots with Liam & more importantly the board like him so he will be backed which is good for us as fans.

You’re right Spudski. We fans and pundits think that a manager criticising a player in public is a no no. Now I’m not sure why that’s the case but you’re point is spot on.

What’s wrong with a player being thrown under the bus after a poor performance by his manager?

I get that it could destroy said player but could also have the opposite effect and he improves his performances in training - all down to a public kick up the ass - and impresses enough to win his place back.

It could kick the other players up the ass as well - not wanting to be the next one thrown under the bus.

    Disagree with this.

In no other reputable business do you publicly throw employees under the bus,  senior figures are held to account & that is their role but it’s unprofessional in any industry to denigrate your staff like that player or not.

He could have tackled this constructively but to be fair he sound thick as mud and good example why not all ex-players have the ability to become Managers.

  13. Whoever thought slowly rolling out the lineup is an idiot - the acts are very middle of the road for the genre & the small amount of buzz has been lost. I hope for their sake the remaining acts are actually headline-worthy.

Where have you pulled it’s the going rate from?

Finn Azaz, younger, playing much better in a worse team = £2.5m

Scott Twine, older, playing worse in the joint 4th best goal scoring side in the division currently = £5m.

The only plus Twine has is Manning has played with him before and that isn’t worth double the price.

As in Burney paid 4m, so they have set the Benchmark of what they would expect minimum.

Im as disappointed as anyone about Azaz but he chose Boro & was good value.
