as I see it at the moment we’re not gonna be troubling the play off positions this year but things by the end of this season should all really be in place to have a right go of it next year , if we haven’t reached that place by the end of the season I think Nige will be under great pressure ,
I would be keeping my eyes on how Steven Schumacher does with Plymouth this year
Kev - What things will be in place by the end of this season that will mean we can have a right go next season?

Listened to both.
Tanner’s fairly standard
Nige a bit subdued, tetchy. Think media knew this was one to tread a bit lightly!!!
He sounded strained like someone who’s dealing with a difficult board & trying to manage different outward perceptions

I can’t see us getting new owners anytime soon . Now we’re part of Bristol sport no one will want to invest in us they won’t be interested in the rugby or basket ball that’s going to be the problem
A US owner with an interest in a Basketball franchise would be an obvious investor.

I would. People make mistakes, you don't throw away a whole life, just because it's banged up a little. He was never found guilty of anything, and he is a talented footballer.
Ok, so you’d green light anyone treating your daughter/sister/mother like that just because they can play a bit?
I assuming that hopefully that you actually haven’t seen it & are posting a bit ignorantly of the evidence

Man U should terminate him, as an academy graduate there would be no transfer fee losses & his saved salary would cover the Legal fees.
He’d soon settle to a % of residual contract once he realised how quickly his funds would run out in a litigation battle.

Predicting his wish list for the summer assuming Pearson goes, Roseignor (sp?) assuming Robins unavailable.
I’d say his top of his wish list is to sell up.
Never felt his heart is truly in it, think this explains why we are where we are in the football pyramid.

Just go out to fan village, never any major queues outside & plenty of food & drink options.

Thanks for putting it together, but why can’t the club collaborate & provide content? They have a decent size marketing team knocking out all manner of stuff.
Appreciate the club don’t think it’s commercially viable to print but they could at least supply (donate) content with the same effort as they do for social channels.
Technically, this another medium to reach the intended audience.

My point was more that even If the club showed ambition by keeping him, but eventually had to sell him for far less than the current £25m, then those now criticising the club for wanting to sell him would then criticise it for not having sold him now at peak value.
Peak value at age 19? Surely not.

It's behind a paywall for me
Recommend signing up to the Athletic thinks it’s a quid or so a month and good content

FYI - recommend getting to the gate early on Saturday as it won’t be smooth day one of mass use.
Was at the Allegiant stadium last night & they use also digital ticketing - anyone in groups or with kids took some time longer to get through as all on same phone - and they are experienced with the system.

Nope! I’m like everyone else: I tick the box without reading it!
And my instinct is probably to worry less about what City will do with it than I do with the likes of Elon Musk or Google.
But I wasn’t posting the link in order to defend it: it was just in response to your interest in what they collect.
If you really feel that strongly you have got the option to opt out etc as per the latter part of the notice. Good luck with that though
Exactly - I’m same as you, seek the path of least resistance & TBF I doubt have any data worth collating.
But was more questioning why bother with the faff, it’s a pain in the butt & doesn’t enhance my experience and would have cost a reasonable amount money.
I hoped my local football club might remain a tech & data scraping free environment but I’m not so sure.
-
It’s also why under 13’s can’t have the digital wallet as they are not allowed to be tracked.

The T&Cs for season tickets have always been clear that they can be shared only with the club’s permission. So all they’re doing is making that an awful lot easier to do. (Yes, I know no-one got permission in the past, but in theory that put your ST at risk).
The privacy policy is here
Have you read it Dave? You can avoid all of their data tracking by not using the online store website etc, but the digital season ticket is right there in your pocket all day, all year. Just think about than & re-read the policy you shared.
I’m no tin hat nutter, but you have to question what is the ROI on installing the new software system
-
This appears it will be like every other piece of tech:
All be about harvesting our data & recording our movements, where we shop, what we buy etc
+ City also now controls the sharing of season tickets.
It would be interesting to see what data is extracted from us through the new digital wallet system, Can the SC&T ask this at the next meeting?

I know the bean counters won’t like it but keeping AS this season might just be worth a go if he & his family are on board with the concept.
There seems an excellent team spirit better than we can recall for some years, lots of emerging quality & a bit of experience. Everyone know their roles & to be fair last season results didn’t go our way but we were almost always on every game, injuries & ridiculous ref decisions did for us.Beyond the obvious qualities, the mental aspect of 20m+ player lining up every week will play on opposition coaches minds.
What’s in it for Alex, another season as a main man in this team who know how to utilise him whereas there’s no guaranteed minutes in the Prem, lots of known, unknowns etc
Who knows how it would pan out here but I would be confident of a top end finish. The group seem in a good place.
I know we can’t compete financially but the make up of the squad being largely bedded in can be quite powerful against clubs in different degrees of transition.
Just my half-cut holiday 10 pesetas worth.

You can’t read anything into results . I haven’t watched any of the games but I’d look for how partnerships are forming across the pitch. Intensity etc
Jason Euell disagrees - he states the pre-season results are important

Understand the severance situation, but... if the club wanted to re-sign him & get him involved with pre-season they could just as easily roll the severance amount into a new contract either upfront or amortized so he's not out of pocket.
This suggests he's probably not coming back, has something in the pipeline elsewhere, or is either hoping/trying to & we are the fallback option.
In which case I hope the club pulls up the drawbridge & moves on with any other options we may have in the pipeline too - Kalas returning would be a last resort for all involved, which may well be what's happening.
-
15 mil is a pointless bid, no incentive to sell at anywhere near this price as his value will be more than this next year with another seasons experience, worst case it won’t be less.
If this is how the market values him now, I think we get another season.

Last night - It was all so predictably, very Bristol City.
We’re just so achingly Meh & for sometime.
Having beaten the FFP constraints, got rid of the dead wood then also sold 2 bright young talents for 30-35 Mill our club decides more austerity is required and treading water is the best you can hope for.
Not sure where it can go from here TBH.
Is the plan to become a Championship Academy? developing & feeding young players to the football market?
