8 down now...

I wouldn't be surprised for Allenby to be captain of all formats next season, however I wouldn't mind us going after someone like Khawaja for next season, could play all formats for us.
-
Very happy with Davies signing, looks like he wanted to put the gloves back on so sorts us in that department.

Northants have won the T20 three times in our years. Announced on our local news tonight that as the ECB is losing money, a new T20 format is under consideration.
Bye bye the small counties., the new format will be just eight franchises based at the eight most heavily attended venues.
Think they may realise when the backlash would come. It's not what the fans want, being a Somerset fan, would I travel to watch a franchise at Bristol? Not a chance.

Shame, cracking effort from Groenewald, the flurry of wickets cost us in the end.
-
Surely not....

2nd bad LBW call, hit him way outside the line
-
Northants would have been away to Yorkshire as well if they'd won their 1/4 final.
-
That's an awful decision by the umpire imo, highlighted by the stump line on the replay, ball is practically outside of leg stump when its hit Allenby.

Just thinking ahead if we do actually win when is the final and where are cityplaying that day?
Derby home

Anyone think the coverage for this is a bit s***? Start coverage after they've done the toss now showing and old final between the 2 innings rather than in studio stuff. Was it the same yesterday?

I know no one said Rovers fans were smart but was anyone listening to Radio 1 earlier? The presenters were talking about sick voices and a Rovers fan called in saying he was about to walk into his office and pull a sickie so he could go to the football today, having given his name and where he's from, saying 'I'm in the car right now practising my sick voice'..... Presenters seemed dumb struck that someone was on national radio announcing that not knowing who could be listening. What I found funny was later in the segment one of the radio presenters kept referring to the guy by his name deliberately while the other one was avoiding using it.

Good 50 for Mahela, didn't realise you could bowl literally as soon as you've come back on like Ali did.
-
155/3 to 210 all out... lovely stuff.
-
Probably 250-275 I'd imagine
Edit - more like 290 ish
-
You could've said it earlier.....
Could have gone a lot worse had Ali been in for another 10 plus overs.

I think we set out too narrow after a bright start. Kodjia certainly put in a shift and certainly not sulking. Tammy perhaps a bit tired and not surprising given he's probably not used to the rigours of the championship just yet. ODonnell certainly kept us in it last 25. Matthews looked a massive improvement on Little. He has to start on Saturday.
While we had a lot of play it was frustrating that we created little other than Kodijas shot that hit the outside of the post. Norwich were very solid at back however.
Maybe a case Matthews would only have it in him to play 75 minutes in one of Norwich or Newcastle and LJ views Newcastle as more winnable?

5/6 in 22 balls, maybe the secret is we just need to prepare bad wickets....
-
All 6 wickets by spin... hmmmm
-
Durham now 74/5, waiting for this wicket to get reported for being poor... 15 wickets on day 1 with over an hour to go.
-
I know Taunton has a reputation for a road but that wicket is ridiculous, its practically green. To then choose to bat on it, I'm not surprised we were all out in that fashion.
-
Any reason why Somerset (group winners) get made to play away in the semi final, to a team who finished 2nd or 3rd? Same point are Northants going to have to be away to Kent/Yorkshire if they make it through?
-
Somerset excellent and Glos suck at 'proper' limited overs cricket then....

Pretty much flip side of what we're known for, Rogers aside for this season, hopefully we can be wiser with our overseas signings next season.

Jenkins?
Being honest I prefer the inclusion of Ansari to that of Batty, similar average for wickets and he can bat. He's been selected before when he got injured hours after so you know England would want to have another look at him, better to do it against Bangladesh than a big team. We've got Ali and Rashid in the squad so 2 experienced international spinners so no need for Batty imo.
Trego not being subtle about his opinion on team selection either.
