  1. If Baldock takes his chances today it's a different game altogether - as it could have been on Wednesday v Watford.

If city could defend it would be a different season all together

To blame a striker who is scoring 1 in 2 games for the postion we are in or for dropped point is frankly moronic

The problem is no bite in midfield and a poor centre back who god.......we........sod spent a shit load of money on

  2. My one concern with the potential permanent signing is that it may be expensive, posh paid over a million for him and won't want to make too much of a loss after just 2 seasons, that said, if he performs well enough then it could be worth it

if he doesn't we don't take the option up and costs us nothing,

Win Win and very good business from City for a change

  3. From the Posh forum: "Who'd be a Bristol City fan. Front three Barnett, Baldock and JET. Is it possible to get three worse attitudes?"

    Baldock?

they hate baldock because he turned them down to sign for ether us or West Ham,

  4. Absolutely and I'm not sure who was predicting he'd fail straight away. Most acknowledged he'll have a good start as most managers at a new club tend to. It's what he does 3 months into the job, 6 months into the job, a year into the job etc that will define whether he's a successful manager here.

quite a few were and they also thought Bryan Reid and Burns would play and thought we'd be lumping 90 yard balls for 90 minutes,

the complete op has happened so far

  5. It depends how the 4-3-3 is played as three strikers can be played if the 4-3-3 is aimed at passing through the middle, the strikers would have to link up with each other and obviously be fairly close in position to do that. The other option could be finding a forward like JET who can naturally play on the wing and cross the ball into the box and play an out wide 4-3-3, how many strikers have you seen can cross the ball and are pretty pacey.

Joe Bryan and Wes Burns are the closest thing we have to developing wingers, although under SOD we did play JET on the wing and with a 4-3-3 if i remember. The ball ended up mostly in our own half and the defence cost us, 4-3-3 is a difficult position to defend if you give the ball away.

It can also be very effective, but you need to wide attacking players who have good postional awareness when we are on the back foot as they can drop into a 4-5-1 formation,

  6. There's a big difference between thinking someone may fail vs wanting them to buddy.

This is just exactly the type of signing i hoped we wouldn't be making. Hoping the comments I found from the Posh fans are accurate ones and he's a hit here.

At 28 though I'd hope we think very carefully before offering him a long term deal even if he does do well.

    dear oh dear........

he is a strong lad and a decent goal scorer at this level and its the presence we need up front on a wet Saturday afternoon when baldock and jet can't break down a defence

  7. He could drop Wes.... that's what SOD would do, and wouldn't think twice about it either.

The Least agro decision is drop Wes and keep Taylor on the bench ..... job done.... of course i hope that doesn't happen

another interesting decision needs to be made re the fact that Fontaine is in the 18 man squad now, again would you drop Carey ?

if you try and name an 18 man squad for Saturday, then you will see what i mean about some tough decisions over the next few weeks.

two will miss out plus Brundle

Will it be Wes and Louis ? i really hope not

Burns won't miss out, don't be suprised to see taylor leave in the near future when barnet signs, wes is getting vital experiance from the bench and i can see that continuing,

Carey will miss out due to age imo as well

  8. A 6ft 3in heaver up-front would be in keeping with SCs "Land of the Giants" reputation that he had at Cheltenham. If he also signed 6ft Myrie Williams then I assume he would not play Joe or Bobby very often. That would seem to run counter to at least one of the five pillars. I, for one, think that Bobby and Joe are two of our best players and the only local lads in the team. If we don't push these two talents then why bother with an academy?

    complete tripe,

What about Wes Burns? he's coming off the bench quite a lot, and what sort of Target men do with have in the acadmey? because I don't think we have a single one,

We have no physical pressence up front and need one and this lad would fit the bill all be it only on loan
