  1. One of the first topics posted on their forum when they were given the initial go ahead for their new stadium had a title along the lines of 'Send a message to Steve Lansdown'. As you can imagine there was little or no sympathy for our hold ups with AV on there.

This will all probably just be a delay for the UWE stadium but for the time being some of them must feel pretty dumb for gloating like they did.

As for any Gas morons thinking that SL has anything to do with this, surely this hold up puts him in a very difficult posistion as I imagine the vast majority of Bris Rugby fans want to stay at the Mem. He's not going to be very popular with them if tries to bring them to AG when their spiritual home, The Mem, could be there for the foreseeable future.

we thought ours "was just a delay",

frankly I believe its now swung the greens way and that it may well scupper their whole plans

  2. What a diplomatic approach to employ at this moment in time. However, were you preaching it to your fellow sags over AV or our relegation? Infact, isn't the identity of R*vers based squarly on the fortunes of Bristol City? Because that is your reputation.

Secondly, this is a football forum not a local council/town planning one.

what was the chant at the derby "we've got our stadium"?

oh how the chickens have come home to roost

  3. The one thing that we'll never be able to fix at AG no matter how many houses we but up is the transport links. With AV, people could have got on a train at Temple Meads and got off 5 minutes later at the stadium. That not only makes it more attractive to new/part time fans, but it makes it more attractive as a conference venue and hotel. We just can't replicate that at Ashton Gate, no matter how great it would be to stay there and redevelop

that can be solved by re-opening Ashton Gate Station along the POD along with a station in Pill and Portishead, you can also catch the train from Parson St and Bedminster too if you cba to walk

  4. You are wrong!

The club has failed miserably. This should have been taken to the very top of government. National media should have been informed etc etc.

    Ashton vale sunk without trace.

it went to the secutary of state who like the gas signed off on the project but it didn't stop Trash or the TVGers going to the courts and thats the problem with democracy

and it hasn't sunk with out of trace we have a hearing about it in a fortnight with the expert who told us last time that only the norht part wasn't a tvg (which we werent going for at them time)

The national media has been reporting on it right the way through its only out of everyones minds as since feb this year we havent been able to do anything until first 30th oct and now 27th Nov,

You are the one who is wrong

  5. Dead right.

I'd rather the club dug in and fought this TVG crap, as I've seen us settle for second best too many times in my lifetime and that's probably why we're where we are now.

We've got to go for for the 1st choice, or we'd live to regret redeveloping AG in a very short time and where the hell is everyone going to park anyway???

what do you think they've been doing and spenting millions on twiddling their thumbs?

If we've settle for the revamp it means there is no legal way we can win Ashton Vale, if the club want a new ground with Ashton Vale off the table then they have to move out of the city to severn side or portishead or something like that which isn't going to happen,

27k isn't the maximum we can have, its whats being banded around with 3 stands being devloped,

The club have silently been buying the houses and areas around the ground for years, if we started using the 27k max then they atyeo would be redevloped (if planning permission were to be agreed) filling in the corners and slightly highering the stand which would make it a capacity of problliy 30 - 32k which is the absolute max we could get on the current land we own,

Yes Ashton gate is the second option but it isn't a poor second option, the main revenue we are missing out on in footballing terms is conferencing and boxes something thats been incorprated into the re-design, thats the main reason we were never on a level playing field in terms of cash in the championship and thats the main reason we want a new/redevloped ground not some fancy hotel or nice housing estate but some boxes we can sell and make additional money on match days for both the rugby and the football club

  6. People get banned without conviction from Ashton Gate.

People get banned without thuggi thuggery happening.

With respect all the escalators are not reaching all your floors.

there were no coins being thrwon then? no seats were ripped out then? no officers injured then?

People who have been banned deserve it banter is banter but a small bunch always take it too far and don't see it as a problem

  7. I highly doubt that it was anyone running on the pitch.. especially if the police have arrested 45 people in connection and only 14 were City... Maybe, just maybe there was trouble outside the ground before and after the game? CCTV isn't just confined to the ground.

Someone mentioned 14 City, 24 Gas and 7 others... who were these others? No connection with football I take it or were they troublemakers from other clubs?

the 7 others were people breaching football banning orders

  8. You actually think that anyone going on the pitch, if that was the only offence committed, should receive a lifetime ban?

I reckon most people would think that a little harsh, especially if it were a first offence.

its would be a case by case basis for me, the majority of people who went on the pitch that night did no harm, its the idiots who ran right for the gas heads are the ones that will recieve bans whether that be life or a year will be up to the the club,

You can't compare it to the rotherham or Crystal palace invasions where most of ashton gate emptied on to the pitch in celebration

  9. Take your cameras with you on the 12th april, v Walsall, if you want to record what coppers are like at matches.

guarantee they will have a few in riot gear! They just love Bristolians. I wouldnt p on a west midlands copper if he was on fire.

Those who have been there know what im saying, any first timer beware, speaking to them is an offence.

aye Avon an Somerset are angles compared to those bunch of thugs

  10. All he has done is get caught up in the moment and excitement of beating your local rivals, sorry but totally over the top.

oh I'm not against it and the hundreds that ran on are only guilty of getting over excited and those who are guilty of this and been banned have my sympathy they really do,

But the club has to be seen to be doing something about it as it was on national/international TV (being on Sky) and a lot ran right towards the away end to have a go at the away fans, they simply can't sweep that under the carpet, they have to lay the letter of the law and that law is, if a spectator enters the field of play he/she is subject to arrest and a automatic banning order,

However wrong it may be the club/police are well with in their rights of rounding up everyone who ent on the pitch and arresting/banning them,

  11. I have just been told a mate of mine and his young son have been arrested and for, wait for it................................Running on the pitch to celebrate.

tho i disagree with that, running on the pitch has been an arristable offence for over 20 years now and shouldn't happen,

Now I know the most clubs turn a blind eye to it at the end of the season and rightly so, but there was no need to do it in the first round of the tinpot cup
