  1. I dont get our club no wins in 13 and he stays then 1 loss in 7 and he gets the sack... unbelievable

its 2 wins in 18 and 6 wins in 24 at home thats cost him his job as well as the constant poor performances dispite backing of the board with his 14 or more new signings

  2. I am quite happy with the batting line up tbh. Really hope Carberry plays his natural game which is to be aggressive. Fully expecting Prior to be back in the runs as well, he is far to good a batsmen to have another poor series.

I agree they aren't poor batsmen but they get themselfs out instead of being bowled out, our batsmen go about it as if its a one day game looking to smash 300 runs from 50 overs (thats the feeling I've got recently), Test match is a 5 day game and about score building, only Thre of our current bats men I feel are capable of this Cook, Bell and Trott and in the last seris cook and trott were poor so I find it no coincadance that our batting let us down alot in that series,

I've not seen enough of carberry to be honest but he could be the old head that anchors our top order together

  3. Their batting line up isn't strong enough.

Drawn series or England sneak a win.

I do tend to agree with the Australian view of cook's captaincy though. He struggles to find a plan b

no but our batting line up makes too many mastakes and for some reason they keep trying to play the sweep shot,

The last series we were never really bowled out we got ourselfs out most of the time, which is the most frustrating part of watching england bat,

We could do with a geoffry boycott at number 4 imo

  4. Yeah wrong way round kitr. EE has 5,500, atyeo 4,200.

    Question:

Regarding the postponing of Ashton Vale enquiry...when is it rescheduled for? I keep hearing that it was postponed until after the ag planning hearing which is a week today, but when exactly? Does anybody know?

Will the board make a decision to drop the av enquiry if pp for ag is granted, or will they hear it out before making a final decision?

a date will be announced once we know the result of our planning application for AG (due 27th Nov), I think I read somewhere it was postponed until the 29th Nov back in oct,

I think they are waiting on the out come and objections (which there has been 4 so far) before they decided whether to ditch the stadium at Ashton Vale,

  5. public transport in the city is crap full stop, butting in a halt at ashton gate wouldn't solve this,

When the portishead line is reopened (and it will be just a matter time) AG may not be included but that doesn't mean it will never be built, it would be one platform about 120m long and would cost about 50k max to install Signalling wouldn't have to change to much as theres already signals around the old halt site which are used by freight trains,

I we as a club should be utilising is the park and ride areas near avonmouth and long ashton, they could use those car parks and put on extra buses to shuttle people in and out of the ground and if the club were savey about it, could included as an added option on the season ticket,

  6. Do people actually think we would fill a new stadium if it were granted? My guess is not even close which would make it almost like a lifeless bowl regardless of its design.

I am more than happy to have Ashton gate redeveloped and brought into the 21st century. It's what we all know, it's our home of football.

its not about filling the stadium it never has been, its about increasing mtach day revenue (hospitality boxes) and non matchday revenue which we have missed out on for years now,

atmoshphere and accustics doesn't put money into the bank account sadly

  7. Well if you think by us re-developing Ashton Gate is a step ahead of the Gas plans then i say you are clearly deluded. Both clubs need new grounds Not re-developments.

us staying at ashton gate doing nothing is better then their plans mate

  8. Personally, I thought the Village Green scenario was totally wrong - and I posted that view in some of the threads on here. I know that many of my fellow supporters did enjoy thinking that we had the upper hand - well, we all know what they say about he who laughs last!

As stated, we don't have the funding to develop The Mem, so will be in a different position to yourselves if the JR (and any appeals) are lost.

Looking at the whole picture, it is a sorry state of affairs for the Bristol area. We'll probably end up with some half-cocked arena, and some lovely Dutch cycle roundabouts, while professional football goes down the drain.

and thats why you get little sympathy from me and many others and a small minority actiually spported us in our efferts and all its done is come back and bite you in the ass,

I think yours may well end up dead in the water and with the rugby moving out it may well be a long time before you can recover, Higgs shouldn't of alienated the rugby club and the gas should of openly supported us in our efforts we would of done the same

  9. Reading their forum *spit* they sound a lot like we did when the J/R was announced agaist Ashton Vale,

Gasheads this is the beginning of the end of your plans the minotiy will win as is always the case in keep bristol small campaign,

  10. Isn't sainsburys just moving from one location to another. That means they get money for the land they own at the moment when they move, so not such a big problem for them to move to ag if av got the go ahead.

yes but its doubling in size into a distrbution centre as well, the type of thing they are trying to get away from,

Ithink in terms of sainsburys both devlopements for city and rovers will be scrapped now, ours wasn't dependant theirs was so in other words they are up the creek,

New ground and you f cked it up to the tune of go west :)

  11. A few points:

    - Wasn't the club on about re-opening the Ashton Gate railway station regardless of whether we remain at AG or go to AV.

    - Who now owns the old Cruickshanks Mercedes garage? That's quite a large area of land that could house a hotel/club shop/bar etc..

    - When I mentioned to DaveL about buying the houses behind the EE or Atyeo, he quite rightly mentioned how expensive it would be, but there's always that old devil inside of me thinking that the club are buying them anyhow, but doing it on the sly to keep costs down.

didn't lansdown buy that 2 years ago?

  12. IF we are still chasing the Vale, isn't the Sainsburys news bad fir us too?

maybe but the gas haven't got a billionaire backer to make up the shortfall we have (if he wanted too),

All our planning permission has all been agreed gone through due process and is in place to start, what stopped us was the land we wanted to build on, not the selling of Ashton Gate to Sainsburys,

Still you never know in these cases

  13. found it,

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

What goes around comes around, no sainsburys would be the icing on the cake after all the shit they have signed against our new ground and all the stick about the JR they have given us

what goes around comes around, that will teach them not to support us with our devlopment
