I certainly think we have goals in us, the question is do we have the control and craft in midfield to give us a platform to create said goals. Naismith return should help, midfield on Saturday without both Naismith and Scott looked a bit flawed.
I expect Sykes can chip in a few too e.g. showed some signs e.g. times last season even if his season was a bit stop-start at times due to two unlucky bans.
I'm more worried about keeping them out, we were over run in midfield and down rhe flanks against Preston, if Scott played we'd still og been over ran

Plenty of time for that. He could be a millionaire with us, when he leads us to the prem.
Or walk away for nothing next year as we've had to balance the books

It's very easy.
Take the £20,000,000 'up front' fee, stick it in a high-street savings account paying 5% and get £1,000,000 a year in interest (we'll skip over the fact that tax and stuff applies).
Repeat this process another 30 times with all the other players we're developing and before you know it, a sustainable football club, just like SL said he wanted.
I don't see how this plan of mine can fail.
With the extra £5mil of add-ons, we can get a state of the art tannoy, donut exempt coffee and as many Man City lanyards as we want.
Lower interest after 25k

At this point I assume you are on the wind-up.
A simple "sorry I was wrong" would have sufficed.
Good luck with that kid

There is this aspect of course - but there’s also a lot of whining about the lack of ambition from the club for selling him which is what I was referring to. Just seems very odd - he was never going to Spurs or West Ham or even Brighton - it was always Wolves or Bournemouth as far as I could fathom.
Yea, I dont get it ether,
Are people really that stupid to think we are in a position to turn down 20 million bids for players when the club are losing upwards of 400k a week?

To be fair, we are as likely to win the premier league next year as spurs are, and weve won the football league trophy twice in the last 25 years where as they have won bugger all! Nice stadium though.
Spurs are ****** now kane Is leaving

I remember NP saying this but this feels like an artificial constraint if even still the case after Scott goes. (I get fees, cash flow, wages, amortisation (non-cash expense) could be seen as separate pots).
Hoping that when NP said this there was a bit of poker or gamesmanship. Or it maybe it included a budgeted wage rise for key assets our of contract in the next couple of years.
Perhaps it included a theoretical Kala renewal which now seems unlikely.
We aren't going to tell people we've got loads to spend and loads of room in the wage bill......

There is only whinging because of the club Alex is going to.
If he'd just signed for West Ham or Spurs there would be next to no complaints.
And we accuse other clubs of not giving us respect.....
Bournemouth are a bigger club then us at the moment, much like Bradford we're 30 years ago,

Nigel person said in a pre-match press conference that Alex Scott was injured, then we find whilst the game was being played last night he is a Bournemouth having a medical,as stated by SSN , was he lying to the fans,
Signing for Bournemouth and missing the first couple of games due to knee injury,
No he wasn't

Was going to say something similar last night
We still miss a midfield enforcer, Scott was our best defensive player last season, that's what we will miss from him,

Hopefully this will be the final one for some while.
It is a bit of a given for Championship clubs to have to sell varied players and in particular those without Parachute Payments.
This one seems not to have been strictly speaking needed for FFP but I hope this and Semenyo were the last two for a while some of the sales also were tied to balancing of financial limits.
Sell Scott means we can keep Conway, bell, and aymon unless silly money comes in,
It also means we can strengthen a bit more as well as secure the club finances for the next 4 or 5 years

We definitely need at least one midfielder, ideally a No.10 who can play wide ride as well, and another keeper IMO.
What like that Jason Knight Kid at Derby?

Would rather see him in a City shirt in the Premiership. IMO it’s another top player being sold. Think SL is happy in the Championship until he sells up.
Yea because he's making hundreds of millions being in the championship......what's he spent no 150 million with 0 return on his investment......
I'm sure he wants to sell the club for 90 million the championship, instead of 300 million in the prem as well........

Apparently Bournemouth fans saying 20 million up front
5 over 3 years.
That would be fantastic business

Could Southampton become a surprise Championship destination for Scotty?
They've sold Ward-Prowse now for £30m+, and Liverpool seems intent on signing Lavia, which would be a further c£50m.
Scott is proven to be elite at this level, so a team with promotion in its sights might be a good fit for all parties.
The other obvious advantage is they're on the south coast.
I doubt it, not this window anyway

And also the thick ***** still can't get it through their thick skulls that if they added up all the threads they had over there about us then they'd have equal if not more. It's just its kept in one super big thread on here so people who don't want to read about them can.
There have been days where sagchat has had more topics about City than Rovers on its front page.
@TomF regale us of the tale of the city relegation party thread on their old forum,
Gather round the campfire children as this one is a doosey

Clearly one of Rees’ mates who has no idea about and or has never been to Bristol. At least most of the comments are calling him out
Yea that annoyed me, he's not been picked due to his arrogance and not listening to the people's point view,
But he has a nice watch,
Any back yo rovers and their general shittieness

How many 'older' people have not grown up with technology? Bearing in mind that mobile phones and the internet have been around since the late 90's. There is absolutely no excuse for anyone under the age of 85 to struggle with it if they had embraced it when it was new. Stop with the old folk nonsense when it was their choice and not something to complain about now.
I disagree,
Computer and digital skills very massively in most age groups,
For example mobile phones have been around since the late 80's the smart phone has not,
The Internet has been around since the early 90s but mass use of the Internet really didn't take off until the early 2000's and then high speed Internet enabling us to do things we do today hasn't been around for that long and is still expensive for many,

Does it say on their application that they have actually used any planning consultants in making the proposal?
Or was it the case, allied to the "Have you got some free unpaid time to do our Electrics, plumbing, maintenance etc in the ground campaign" .
I'm sure that if they had used a professional company, they would have outlined timescales of such a project within the planning process. I can't believe that they are trying to say as a club "problems not of the club's making".
They have to pay money for a professional company......

The fact that he seems to think that he is unique in putting his own views on his own personal social media, shows what a self obsessed bellend he his.
Does anybody else feel the need to put that as a tagine on theor own social media.?!
In hos defense, alot of people in the public eye do that, its to protect their workplace,
Doesn't stop him being a jockey of the door knob verity

I can’t agree.
We are going to miss his technical ability a lot more than what he offers us defensively. I am shocked you think so.Where have I said we won't miss him?,
I've said he's better defensively then attacking
All his stats back that up, for city and for England,

Wtf you on about he is as good going forward as defending....
Where have I said he's bad going forward?
I Said we need more goals from midfield, Scott scored 2 from midfield last season,
I never said he's poor going forward, I said he's better defensively and when he goes that's what we are going to miss the most,
Not once have I said he's not good going forward

They were better at the press then us, didn't give us room and quick to win the ball back, I dont think Scott would of changed that,
If Preston had a striker we'd of lost
