Just now, Mr Popodopolous said:
I tend to agree on most cases, but given the hand he was dealt, the steadying of the ship, the downsizing, the forced austerity for almost 12 months, by which I mean January 2022, summer 2022 and until Semenyo was sold January 2023...I think he would be rather disgruntled and have very decent grounds.
Why, he's a manager, he knows the financial situation,
He know his budget
He knows Scott would leave once a suitable bid had been received
He'd know how much that price would be and he knows how much of that he would be likely to spend
I'm really doubtful he'd be disgruntled,
Disappointed at losing a good player yes, disgruntled doubtful

Depends how the deal was structured. Might have been rising to £25m with myriad add-ons although seen a few posts on the Wolves forum a few weeks back that suggested were trying to spark a bidding war and being tricky etc.
No I'm talking about the wolves bit,
We never accepted a bid from them

Both Roberts and McCrorie are predominantly full backs/centre backs and I don’t particularly want to see square pegs in round holes. Benarous may be a bonus but until he is back playing first team football can’t be relied upon.
We were a player light in midfield when HNM went out on loan last season, we’ll be in the same position when Scott goes now Knight has arrived. I don’t expect us to go out and spend big but we need one more in there.
No we aren't,
King
James
Knight
Naismith when fit
Benarous
Williams
That's 6 players playing for 2 maybe 3 places
You've also got other players who are perfectly capable there

There is a.ways this sort of issue pre season tbf it’s usually sorted on the day or the problem is only a fraction of what people think it will be .
worse I can remember was the city v gas night game many years ago , had my ticket but couldn’t get in ( to quote a Rovers saying ) there were thousands outside who couldn’t get in and apparently it was rammed inside aswell
If that's the same game I'm thinking about, the club sold some seat twice that night

I just love the doom & gloom of OTIB and the seasons not even started yet
going by this thread at kick off there won’t be anybody in the ground
I wouldnt be surprised of there are problems at the turnstiles on Saturday

With my serious head on, they should stay at the Mem, embrace the history of the ground, engage with the area, develop the ground properly. We are a distraction that is driving the thoughts of their supporters and short termism. They would be better doing their own thing, at their own pace. Develop the squad as an asset to become a regular top end of L1 club.
These things, when done correctly, do actually take time! They aren't being done correctly though.
Oh I agree, and that's how we would treat things,
City's ambition is to be the best and finish top half of the prem
Rovers ambitions is to finish 1 place above city,
That's what hold them back, they care more about what we are doing and not about what idiot owners have done to their club,
It's that short termism that got them relegated from the football league

This is a right mess, this has been poorly implemented and badly communicated
The club should be ashamed

It could be twice the size with a leather seat for every one of their plastic fans who suddenly come out of the woodwork but it’ll never be in their traditional heartland and it’ll never have the history that Ashton Gate has.
Was it Darlington that built a ground far too big for them, then became a white elephant which lead to bankruptcy as well as dodgy ownership

Would be nice, but we don't have enough depth,
We won't trouble the bottom but I don't think we'd have a sustained push for the play-offs ether,
Still it's improving all the time, which is great

Chelsea are buying Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes for £23m so maybe we've got the price right?
A players value is what the club thinks it is and what another club is willing to spend,

This is why they should of given supporters an option when renewing not telling us its going fully digital halfway through the renewal period,

Any Arab billionaire wouldn't be wasting their time with a 3rd division club stuck in a non league ground and train on a Sunday league pitch,

Not sure about that. Football Insider can be absolute dross with literal guesswork and speculation manifesting as news. But Peter O is their actual journalist and article is pretty clear that it is sourced information and advanced talks. You might be right that the 'beat Wolves to signing' is overstating and speculative. But I would suspect there is something in this.
It is though, it says nothing,
Nothing about a bid being accepted
Nothing about these advance talks
The article is the very definition so speculation,
How can you have advance talks with a player for example if you haven't even bid,
It's nonsense, it's an article designed to filter traffic to a site for add revenue, Nothing more,
I cant believe I'm saying this, but the post is alot better then this rubbish

Amazing how many people know for definite what we will accept! Just because we have said what we want doesn’t mean we won’t accept less. Nobody can be definite
Some posters generally do know more then others and the main 2 talking about fees have generally been right

Someone mention Brighton again to get us going.
Brighton may well put a bid in when the sell that 100m midfielder

Seems great until someone meets our valuation on the last day with no time to replace him. A la Webster
We are in a position to say no or he will only move if we sign a replacement first,
As he has 2 years left, we hold the cards
Alex Scott - £25m to Bournemouth- Confirmed

As well as the players in the under 21's
We do need more goals from midfield,
That's if Scott stays or goes as he isnt much of a goalscorer and better at the defensive side of the game
