  1. Or there is something more recent -

"Will it mean a bit more to you if you do it today?"

    "Why?"

"Beating Bristol City and being a Rovers man?"

"I'm a Blackpool man. Bristol City are a good side and its going to be tough. They're a team from my hometown, he's got them playing some nice stuff and good luck to them. We just need to be firm and keep our heads. They're just opponents, nothing more."

    Ian Holloway

    Blackpool v Bristol City

Yep a Skeletor media answer, not a skeletor answer when the cameras are not rolling.  The bloke is a complete arse

  2. Marcus Stewart spent his whole childhood supporting Bristol City FC.

He then chose to play for Bristol Rovers.

It's the same thing only opposite.

For goodness sake, are we basing it on a silly thing he said in the heat of the moment when a fair few of us weren't even born?

No, you clearly have had no dealings with him. Read my reply to maesknoll red.

    the bloke is calculated.

  3. Totally different, to the best of my knowledge, none of them acted unprofessionally and insulted the other club and its fans, Hollowhead has done this on more than one occasion, he is a sag, not a professional who played for them without predujice, if you don't understand the ill feeling that it would cause amongst many City fans, then I guess it would be impossible to explain further.

This he gets very very personal towards city fans when there are no cameras or sound recorders around.  Naivity when he was young allowed himself to show part of his true colours

  4. Would be delighted at his appointment - should it happen.

He is a professional. You do a job for money.

Ask yourself - if you found yourself out of work - would you not take a job on offer, because you may 20 years ago have not liked the company???

I know I would. If I was a football coach, I would happily work for Bristol Rovers or Cardiff City if the money is right.

Ask Marcus Stewart, ask Alan Walsh, ask John Ward etc

Stewart, Walsh and Ward are completely different.

Anyway, moot point he pretty much stated he would never join us, he dislikes us enough not to come, and for his own safety (unfortunately)  he shouldn't come.

  5. I'll go once to Ashton Gate if he gets appointed, I'll get on the pitch and forcibly put my ticket down the scrawny gas ***** throat and my relationship with this club.

    #notoholloway

Good point, I may pay my last ever visit to do something similar, unfortunately it would have to be the potd ticket :)

it will be a nice knowing you Bristol City from me

  6. You can bet, whoever the next manager is will be a lap dog to the board and Lansdown.

It's no secret that SL doesn't get on with SoD... this is his doing imho.

I have no faith in this board or SL anymore... in fact I've always doubted their footballing knowledge...not their money.

I feel sorry for the next manager having to work with this lot...

I hope the fans realise it's the board killing this Club and not the managers.

What I have been saying for Years Spud, eventually it is all coming  home to roost.  **** this club while the Lansdown's are in charge **** them to hell I am done with investing any of my time or money into it while they are in charge

  7. Sums up the board, and why i am no longer going.  As I have said they never follow anything through, never stick to a polan, you can go back through my past history saying if they Dump SOD, that will tell you all you need to know about long term planning and their strategy.

That is me done now, I won't be going to away games either, i am officially a arm chair supporter until these toss pots and owner are gone.

  8. In fairness to Vaughan he was commenting on Trott's form which has been woeful, you can't blame him if he never knew anything about his illness.

No, you can't, but the bloke is still a complete tosspot who has a very short memory of all the mistakes he made.

Strong opinion not backed up with choices he made as a player, and he is quick to let all and sundry know.

  9. Vaughan....glad it's not just me finding him irritating. Radio off when he comes on, great player but strikes me as a real shit bloke

Can't stand the bloke. Very quick to dish it out clearly forgetting the mistakes he made. He is a right irritating arse.

  10. Not read the whole thread, so apologies if I'm going over old ground here, but I hope Jimmy ******* breaks Clarke's arm in Adelaide. ******* preening, shortarse, smug Aussie ****. I hope Johnson wears a couple too. And Warner. Watson as well. If our boys aren't wound up for the next test then I give up

Makes me wonder if Warner knew about Trott's impending departure the other night, I've read today that he didn't. I hope that is correct, because if he did then I hope he never suffers from stress/depression and has someone calling him out to the world

Was kind of hoping that the Aussies would win the 1st test to set it all up for some brilliant cricket over the next 6 weeks or so, but you've got to wonder now if they are going to blow us away. With no Trott, and no natural no 3 batsmen out there (Bell maybe?) if one of Jimmy or Broad go down with an injury we are well and truly screwed

I doubt he knew about Trott. That smart arse Vaughan didn't and made himself look a arse again while rapidly back tracking. I am sure he would have heard something from the England camp before the Aussies.

  11. Just watched Trott's innings again. It is truly awful, he had no clue what to do against Johnson, and apparently since the last series he has been working on this? Well obviously not long enough based on this test.

Never sure how you work on something like this, unless Johnson rocks up and launches a few thousand balls at you. It has always struck me as a bit pointless. How can you work on something against someone who isn't Johnson?
  12. he must be a chippy or something .could you swing a hammer down there trusting yourself not to miss?

If he is a chippy I hope he was carful about splinters. All well and good putting a nail through a sack with few nerve endings, very different putiing a splinter into a bollock!
  13. Russian brides must be cheap, there are loads of French blokes with them and they are as tight as foie gras gooses arse.

Edit:- French men are tight, not any part of of a Russian bride.

Ah that is a shame, you went and ruined the vision in my mind with that edit Es
  14. Yeah saw that a couple of days ago, I bet his protest will stop Putin from doing whatever he's protesting about, on the other hand if he had asked nicely I expect Mr Putin would have nailed them for him.

 not sure about that, probably just crushed them with his boot!
  15. I am in no way hypocritical ! I despise the board and their lackeys who are running my club into the ground, I support sod and my support does not vanish when we loose a couole of games, what's hypocritical about tbat ? I attend every game that I can afford ( and some that I can't ) unfortuanatly my finances don't stretch as far as some _ what's hypocritical about that ? finally I do not claim to support Bristol City them Chip off and watch another club while City are playing, and then tell everybody how much better than city they are ! now that IS hypocrisy !

You are hypocritical because you moan at those not supporting sod but you yourself moan at another area of the club I.e. the board.

Don't expect people not to notice the do as I preach not as I do attitude.

Fair enough moan about the board. I do it enough. But don't ridicule others support if they don't like the manager.

As it goes I am like you. Dislije the board but like the manager.

  16. I think people support the club in many ways. Not everyone can go away, not everyone can afford to or have the spare time to do it.

    I can't always do it.

Where I do take issue is when people accuse others of not being a fan - but then where it for me goes into the ridiculous is to call out someone for being fickle whilst they have just travelled the lengths of the country and this same person has not.

If the basis is because I took my two kids who support Reading to watch them play the other week, then so be it. Happy with my record as a fan and also my record as a dad the other week.

Makes you a super fan. You have to take the misery of watching us and the misery of watching the plastics. If you can sit through that you have earned your fan stripes!
  17. Why does every thread turn into the Timothy bird show .....

Made himself look a bit of a silly. Calling out kaiser but not attending himself.

Bitching at people ripping it into sod. But then bitching about the owners. Very very hypocritical.

Now I agree with him about the owners. But I don't go personally abusing people who don't see it the same way as me (apart from the drunk japseye who puts himself up for a pisstake)

Tim really does himself no favours in this thread.

  18. I have sent some money their way. But I think they will be needing a whole lot more than the 190 million they are currently asking for.

Parts have been raised to the ground. And this is no Japan who have the infrastructure in place to bounce back (relatively) quickly from a national catastrophe.

I feel fo the poor buggers, where the hell do you house whole cities? I really don't know what will happen over there. But I think countries in close proximity will have to help house these homeless people in the short term.
