No chance is Kelly ever going to be a cb.
And more to the point why would he he’s a lb !
Why are we so insistent that when we get a decent player we then try are hardest to play them in other positions , truly baffling ..
It is the Gary Johnson training classes method.

What is more beneficial today, the result, or giving a young player minutes against a good side in what is basically a friendly. Yes he made mistakes, but the coaching staff can now see areas of weakness in his game they can work on with him. If he takes on board the advice and works on these things to improve, its great for us and him in the long run.
So they cannot do that on the training pitch then? I think you might have hit on something here though; LJ has been doing this for the last 24+ games ever since Mark Ashton said promotion is not really the target. Starting to make sense. All my faith is beginning to be restored.

LJ also mentioned the need to recruit leaders, ‘some steel’ and communicators.
But he has had his 3 windows; he was the one who said we need 3 windows. 3 windows for what? To mention that after having had 3 windows simply smacks of incompetence. Sorry but no other way of sugar coating it.

Openly blaming 'a number of players' , 'already gone on holiday' , 'summer of recruitment will be very exciting' , 'bound to be recruitment on and off the pitch' .
Not convinced anymore myself.

Bodin's done okay for us so far, but sense he will be very good next season with a bit more adjustment to the division and a pre-season at Championship level.
Don't be so darn negative man; you can still get promotion. Come on Preston, you can do it me babbers.

A welcome surprise! And can I say, reading the match thread from start to finish with the benefit of hindsight is most pleasing.
I have that benefit too for evening kick offs; of late its been harrowing so Tuesday night was indeed a pleasant surprise, to put it rather mildly.

If a certain beer brand did match day thread introductions they would probably be extremely short, nonchalent and even blasé.

Condense this Big Tone.
Exhausted, no motivation, could not care less; the players? No, this match day writer.
All of you take the floor...

A note on the ramifications of yesterday’s match after last night’s matches and today’s single Championship game;
With both Sunderland and now Birmingham winning since we snatched victory from Barnsley’s grasp in the last minute yesterday, they’ve dropped down into the bottom three.
And despite wanting to take the ‘high road’; after their support’s near total silence when not in front yesterday (and even then they were hardly ferocious) other than goading LJ just prior to our second equaliser, I’m a little smug that results have ended up with us level on points with 5th place, and the Tykes two points from safety.
Thoroughly pleasing weekend so far. Do we dislike Hull so much we want them to lose this evening?

There are posters who are desperate for LJ to fail and have been since he was appointed. They'll jump on anything slightly negative.
Thats just terrible. I always step over spiders and beetles, because its bad luck, and of course ants as they are so fast they could run, catch me up, and sneak inside my shoe in a hunting pack. Most unpleasant. Jumping on LJ though, although he is indisputably smallish, is bang out of order.

What with three ‘physical’ / battering ram predominantly type forwards ?
Really ?
Such as ?
Sane and Sterling either side of Jesus or Aguero isn’t quite the same thing is it
We are talking about 3 players in general in a forward position, or you were, and I responded to it by saying its not uncommon and LJ had not lost the plot. Now you are manipulating the discusion to specific types of player which is an entirely different discussion. I can see you are in a rather argumentative mood with a lot of people on here so I will just leave it there and not respond further.

Wolves and Man City tend to do it quite a bit so I will have to just disagree with you on that point.

I haven’t included the cup games in there - it would be harsh to include two against Man City!
It’s a mixed bag, but not quite horrible in my book. But certainly disappointing compared to pre-Christmas.
And to think we are outside the play offs on goal difference; our form drop has coincided with that of Sheffield and Leeds United who were vying with us at the turn of the year, more recently that of Derby and mediocre form of Preston. Of course we should not forget we were at the top end of the play offs and now at the bottom.

More bold than losing the plot; if as a manager you have faith in your players you will try such a strategy to unlock a defence. It has been done before and will be done again and not only by City. Just because it did not work does not mean its losing the plot; that is being disingenuous at best.

Could really do with Wolves beating Boro this evening and by about 7-0 would be nice.
