I would be very surprised if King does not go on to have a very successful coaching and/or management career.

What a great career story, what. a great guy. What a missed opportunity for BCFC.

I wouldn’t rule out him having the manager’s role here one day.

Well now the deadline has both passed for reduced prices and pay monthly so we think it’s likely to be pretty much the final number…?

Yes I expect so apart from a handful of late entries and half season tickets later in the year.

I think this is it. Whenever I’m looking at promotion/relegation I want to lose the teams that are likely to be the most difficult for us next season. If Ipswich don’t go up, McKenna is squarely in the frame for a decent prem job (West Ham?) and I don’t see them being the same force next year. Leeds however will be strong - and probably stronger than the three likely relegated teams. For that reason, I’d be quite happy to see Leeds and Southampton go up.

On a similar basis it’d be good to lose Birmingham- likely to have good investment in the summer and Mowbray in charge so will be stronger next year. I’d want Oxford up as the weakest of the playoff sides.

All about what’s best for us as far as I’m concerned.

Perfect summary. If Ipswich don’t go up (unlikely now of course), there is a greater chance that that they won’t be as good next season compared to Leeds. They may also lose key players to bigger clubs.

Even so, will need to basically lose by at least 3 goals and Leeds win by at least 3 goals…

Just any Leeds win and any Ipswich defeat will do it for Leeds (better goal difference). Ipswich still need a point but I’d be surprised if they didn’t get it (home to Huddersfield).

Sorry but George Tanner is no Luke Aylimg. One is an attacking full back who scores goals and the other is Tanner, who seems to be at risk of a nosebleed every time he crosses the halfway line.

That’s why I said different skill sets. The point was a full back playing at CB, and successfully at that.

reminded me of a higher level version of Derrick Williams in our league 1 promotion season.

I was thinking about Derrick Williams too at the weekend; the make-up of that back 3 generally reminded me of the make-up on Saturday - different skill sets of course but the fact that that you just have one big/true CB in the middle with a different type of player either side. For Ayling (who also played a lot at RB), read Tanner.

the no9, although being brought in to add a presence may not be a “big signing”, ie we will try to keep Conway and the new no9 is more of an “option”, as TC remains key.

I agree with this - sure Tinnion said on sound of the city a few weeks back that they were looking in Europe (as cheaper) - so if we get anyone I expect a young physical no 9; nothing that will break the bank. Most of the money goes on the no. 10 (ideally Twine)

I forgot to add, sublime free kick by Twine today. Really nice.

Winning free kicks too with his creativity, his ability to carry at times. We've missed that for a while..Scott did win them in both halves which was a major asset.

Apparently it was his 13th free kick goal in the EFL - that ability is not to be sniffed at.

A cannon, with a short fuse, that will hopefully get fired.

But they seem to lack the balls to be shot of him.

A bazooka discussing cannons - my day is complete!

I remember starting to watch city after moving to Bristol in 2006. The ground was outdated. The fans seemed to be mostly 40+. It was quite stale. Fast forward to now and we seem to be in a much healthier position. The only big miss is that apparently the corporate facilities at the ground aren't enough, and we are missing out on revenue because of it. I know otib won't like it but to bring in the cash we need more of the prawn sandwich brigade in the Lansdown.

Do you mean the boxes? Probably about the right amount given the size of the ground I would think. Of course the issue we’ll have if we ever get to the PL will be that a capacity of 26.5k won’t be enough to meet demand - suspect we’ll have waiting lists for season tickets etc (another reason to keep me renewing).

Oh……I must have misread the OS then…….:dunno:

You may need to change your strap line to ‘I only believe it when I read it on the OS (and provided I have not misread it).’ 😃

Seriously though it’s a shame you thought that and perhaps City comms could have been clearer, ie hammer home it was free.

Who's to say he's the only Derby player to be off over the summer? It might look a different team and not many of his mates might be there come the new season. Plus he has Knight here too. Who knows, might not be as bad for him 🤷‍♂️

He’ll know Roberts well too (he was at Derby last season on a season long loan)

As far as I knew you just came out the ground and then watched the Wurzels, that’s certainly what I did and I saw no checking of tickets going on.

I maybe wrong but I thought the Wurzels was a free event as part of the family day/end of season events

    Yes no ticket needed
